Agadmator, I'd like to say thank you for these videos. I learned how to play chess 29 years ago n I fell n love with the game. Since coming across your videos, I've brought out the ol chess board n also started playing online. I've started teaching my 3 1/2 year old how to play chess. Let's hope he'll become as good as Tal one day. He already has the great Mikhail name, n now he just needs the skills.
Ervi Shalsi Not quite sure what you mean my friend. All I was saying "joking" about my son being the next Tal cause his 1st name is Mikhail n I'm trying to teach him chess. He loves watching me play. So why not try n get him to play if he likes watching
Hi agad. I just read about the USSR vs rest of world tournaments, it'd be cool to see some games from that. The games aside there would be some cool stories to tell for sure. Still think it'd be cool to see some 960 games too! #suggestion #suggestions
#suggestion For a different video idea at any point, show an amazing game by a well known player, but don’t reveal who it is until the end of the video. Could be interesting to be thinking about who it could be whilst watching the moves / seeing if you can guess correctly who would have played such moves
glad Karpov is still with us, and we have so many great games from him. i used to think Karpov's games were boring and preferred Kasparov, of course, because of how dynamic and aggressive his style is, but the more I played, the more I studied the game, the more I appreciated Karpov, and I can't believe I thought he was boring. he's a god damn snake with an artistic streak. check out game 9 from the 1984 championship vs Kasparov: 70 moves, 0 inaccuracies, 0 mistakes, 0 mistakes, 7 avg centipawn loss. (?!?!?!) live long and prosper, Karpov, you beautiful monster :D
Thank you, agad, for mentioning Karpov's birthday and congratulating him, he deserves this as much as Kasparov does! I understand now, why Caissa is not happy with a draw after only 23 move's, I wouldn't be either! ;-)
Very useful quote. A lot of people let their chances of winning hinge off of their 'fortress', but when that fortress inevitably crumbles throughout the mid-game, it's all up to good moves.
and here we have a nice photo of Grischuk pretending he dont know what to play - I mean who is he kidding . HEHE. Good one. You nailed that one nicely.
A Wild Gelfand appears........Grischuk "Sorry Mister...no spare change, got a train to catch!"{disappears in a flash}.....Carlsen [Damn, perhaps if I look the other way he'll just go away] :P
No-one suspected that a wild Gelfand was lurking in the shadows, waiting for its opportunity to pounce. All it needed to do to remain unnoticed was to suppress its greedy growl, alas, it just couldn’t help it. And so it found itself all alone in the savannah again, with tufts of grass gently bending in the breeze its only company. Hours of stealthily approaching its prey, once again wasted! „I‘ve got to get that growl under control“ it thought, as it dejectedly slunk away in the darkness to find another prey item. „Maybe I should try to find a deaf one“, it thought, its mental gears whirring into action, hatching new plans...
agadmator, at some point (perhaps after the 2013 candidates), will you please cover a game and a little of the chess career of Max Euwe? It's not that I think he was particularly strong among former World Champions, but he does stand out because chess was only a passionate hobby to him - professionally he was a mathematician and computer scientist. Many Cold War era chess professionals consider him to have been the greatest FIDE president, with many troublesome issues that needed a subtle hand.
The only problem about not showing the Ivanchuk game this round is it might have been the only other game he didn't end up in serious time trouble!! Also, a super well know pure theoretical line leading to a draw isn't something any of us would expect from a game by Ivanchuk..... Or maybe he was so desperate not to run into time trouble, he decided to stick to pure theory to not fall behind and was hoping his opponent didn't know the line as well as he did? Seems so strange.
Y'know, I can appreciate this game. Why should one feel forced to play a lesser move just to keep the game going? If both players are bent on playing the 3 repetitions, then that's just how the game goes.
I know you mainly analyze professional matches, but can you do tutorials on openings? I'm new to them and don't know much about things like the English opening or Scandinavian defense.
Hello !! I was gessing : does any game had been playing after one of the player promote a second Queen on the game? I mean, 2 queens again one queen? If yes, it should be interesting to present this game, no? Anyway, thx for your work !
When the light squared bishops get traded, is it always best to capture with the H pawn? I tend to capture with the F pawn to keep the H file closed and open the F for my rook? #question
Question: why not capture the pawn on d5 with the knight and fork the queen and bishop? If rook captures good for you and if the queen moves you get the bishop.
5:25 i don't think that's not the case. Grischuk don't have connected rooks and it's scary when Carlsen piles up the rooks which might xray the rook on h1 in the future. it's just my opinion and im just a 1500 rated player.
#suggestion Sam Shakland vs Zviad Izoria (Shakland won the US championship ahead of the world champion challenger and a few others. He is a rising star, I guess)
I liked the picture of Professor Severus Snape looking at Magnus Carlsen. Great Photo
The Dark Gelfand Rises :')

Best of luck to little Misha :)
ozzy1976 you cant have tal name learn chess 3 years old and dont be a beast
agadmator's Chess Channel Thank you sir.

A wild gelfand has appeared.
I'm just wondering if it is the Pokemon reference. :D
it most definitely is :D
Done the video for gelfand 😁
roses are red
violets are blue
chess and agad
are like glue
I have a better one:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
a wild Gelfand has appeared,
the legends have come true.
the replies are way better than the actual comment
Because you are an internet sex bot.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Don't look now but
Gelfand's behind you
Wild Gelfand has became a meme now. :D
I just ran into karpov and congratulated him. He seems like a nice guy

I will cover that tournament. Only covered one games so far, Fischer vs Petrosian
#suggestion

This is a cool idea.
Cool idea !
Yes!
Very nice idea. But don’t use the hoody guy but something else, a masked guy for example.
Great idea bro!
what is it actually with the doubled sound? i have paid attention but cant hear anything weird
He turns his speakers down. Otherwise we hear the chess.com sound, but also the chess.com sound coming out of the speakers and back into the mic.
thanks. thats technically true. either my ears or my earphones have gone bad :D

Thank you for putting that nice Karpov's photo there. I love you so much💖
To be a Champion requires more than simply being a strong player;one has to be a strong human as well-Anatoly Karpov
"A wild Gelfand appeared" - Agadmator, 2018.
This is the best gelfand photo yet!
Thank you, agad, for mentioning Karpov's birthday and congratulating him, he deserves this as much as Kasparov does! I understand now, why Caissa is not happy with a draw after only 23 move's, I wouldn't be either! ;-)
I think the format of your videos is great
Its his birthday? Oh lets put 'a' Karpov over here
Hello, i don't even play chess but i love to watch it, i've seen the majority of your video's and i really like them. Keep up the good work!
#suggestion l personally miss your streams and 3min match tornaments😭
I will start them agaon soon
agadmator's Chess Channel. Thank you Antonio. l really appreciate it😀
damn i just met karpov between thoose two vids
now i forgot to say happy birthday
Very useful quote. A lot of people let their chances of winning hinge off of their 'fortress', but when that fortress inevitably crumbles throughout the mid-game, it's all up to good moves.
Thanks for your videos. They are very interesting !
Standardize your points list at the start (personally I prefer periods to commas)
„A wild Gelfand appeared“ made my day 😂
and here we have a nice photo of Grischuk pretending he dont know what to play - I mean who is he kidding .
HEHE. Good one. You nailed that one nicely.
"..a wild Gelfand lurking in the back", i lost it. lol
That's a great photo of Karpov. It was very distracting, though.
Who is Caissa??? And I also don't know the reason you showed this game. Can someone please tell me
An excuse to show Gelfand.
NAKUL BAM You'll understand tomorrow.
google it
He showed this game because gm ben finegold will win this match and he will became the next world chess champion
Nice work, keep it up, love these brilliant moves
What is the reason we should know for showing this game?
Told Karpov you wished him a happy birthday, we meet every friday night for fish and chips
A Wild Gelfand appears........Grischuk "Sorry Mister...no spare change, got a train to catch!"{disappears in a flash}.....Carlsen [Damn, perhaps if I look the other way he'll just go away] :P
That hello everyone never fails to surprise me with the volume
best youtuber: agadmator
Reason you showed this game is to prove Carlsen's dark shadow is Gelfand.
Happy 67th birthday Anatoly 😁
The game is very educational for the new kids in the game who are about to start playing tournaments,so there is a good reason anyway
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Agadmator likes gelfand
And we love him too
You're the best mator!
Agadmator have you seen the Square Off chess board? And if so, what do you think of it? It looks like a very interesting concept.
Nope I don't know my chess history but you have my full attention, thanks!
"Gelfand lurking in the shadows..." LOLOL!
Sometimes agad's comentaries on the photos are better than the game
Happy birthday to Anatoly Karpov
Gelfand’s disembodied head! That’s genius 🧐
2:38 Pokemòn reference loved it

The game starts at 2:48
will you cover summer chess classic ?
I'll be honest, I never noticed the sound until you pointed it out...
agadmator, at some point (perhaps after the 2013 candidates), will you please cover a game and a little of the chess career of Max Euwe?

So was Botvinnik. CS guy.

1 800 GO FAST There is sooo much content from other people on RUclips. Just check it out. :)
1 800 GO FAST thechesswebsite has plenty of videos on openings. Check that channel out
Hello !!
I was gessing : does any game had been playing after one of the player promote a second Queen on the game? I mean, 2 queens again one queen?
If yes, it should be interesting to present this game, no?
Anyway, thx for your work !
Gelfand looks like a Shadow Man on that picture :)
I love these two!
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Agad blundered the sound
This time too
"A Wild Wildering Gelfand Appears."
fuck, i let my guard down for one second and A WILD GELFAND APPEARED!
When the light squared bishops get traded, is it always best to capture with the H pawn? I tend to capture with the F pawn to keep the H file closed and open the F for my rook? #question
I know the general rule is to capture towards the middle but I always found this as an exception. Am I wrong?
Carles missed free pawn in the opening, even at that level, sometimes it happens to me as well.
Hello sir , please don't say who is the winner of the tournmate in the final title , let us always watch the video before we know who is the winner!
The phonetic of that last contributor's name is probably "EE-an" "MAC-In-Urn-ee," just so you can become accustomed to the Scottish names, too.
There is nothing ever wrong with the sound. Who keeps complaining about that?
Why doesnt Carlsen capture after hxg6 with his f pawn ? He will have open f file as compensation for white h file ? Am i missing something ?
A wild gelfand:)
Unfortunately, my quality time with Karpov today occurred before I watched your video, and so I didn't get to pass on your birthday wishes.
Gerald: good positions dont win games...😑
Google deep mind Alpha zero : You are so cute Gerald 😚
#suggestion Can you please upload Kramnik vs Anand match which was held on 1996 Amsterdam Max Euwe memorial excellent game with 108 moves 👌
A wild Gelfand appeared.
Magnus used GRANDMASTER BALL.
cool to know I share a birthday with Karpov. (no, not in the year...lol)
Do you think Grischuk played for a draw from the beginning? A greater fear of losing than of winning?
Question: why not capture the pawn on d5 with the knight and fork the queen and bishop? If rook captures good for you and if the queen moves you get the bishop.
Once again avoiding eye contact😂😂😂😂😂
can someone tell me who caissa is
The reason being the game was drawn before it got to an endgame.
Nice. Though Carlsen may not have wanted to draw, he refused to play a move inferior to the best one.
#suggestion Capablanca vs. Réti New York 1924, where Capablanca was beaten for the first time in 8 years by Czechoslovak GM Réti.
happy birthtay anatoly karpaov and happy birthday fr me
4:55 why not play Rxd5 attacking the queen? I am confused about the choice Kf1
PacMan MVC I think because of Nxf3+ followed by Bxc3+ and Black gets some play and wins the pawn back and Kf1 removes the king from the checks
2:38 this magnus photo is only good because gelfand is on the right of it
Happy birthday Karpov!
Whats the reason? :P
5:25 i don't think that's not the case. Grischuk don't have connected rooks and it's scary when Carlsen piles up the rooks which might xray the rook on h1 in the future. it's just my opinion and im just a 1500 rated player.
'thats why i put a Karpov here' kek
Tossing up between "Blurry Grischuk" and "Wild Gelfand" for my new screen name
Karpov birthday is my birthday aswell!
Grischuk is your fav plater, with Tal, aren't they ? :D
Who is, Caissa?
Who’s Caissa?
I always move my king one square to the right and start pushing h pawn to get that deadly h rook like grishuk has
Pretty stunned Carlson took the draw
huh?
9:10 I don’t know what the reason is, can anyone tell?
#suggestion Sam Shakland vs Zviad Izoria (Shakland won the US championship ahead of the world champion challenger and a few others. He is a rising star, I guess)
It would be very nice of you, if you could feature any of his last games
Whats your source of quotes???
The engine agrees with Magnus, when have I heard that before??
....
after Na5 Qc7 why didn't white go Nxd5?
