All these models are stunning! I've been painting Tau for years and I just can't get close to your quality and depth. I absolutely love the camo on the AM tanks. Fantastic stuff!!
@@StrikingScorpion82 The Tau: We have brought our finest warriors and deadliest weapons, Our Empire has never been defeated such a stain on our honor shall not fall upon us today. Lay down your Weapons Gue'vesa and embrace "The greater Good!" Astra Militarum: *TONK*
I’m not whinging, but I would have loved to have seen both sides be able to attack on their full profiles for the first turn and then apply the damage/remove models at the beginning of the second turn. That way each side would have been able to use all of their models before being destroyed. I still enjoyed the battle report though.
Thats how the actual Apocalypse rules work which I have to admit was how I thought they were playing. I do like that for Apocalypse as it allows you to play your new painted model without it suffering from "Painted Model Syndrome."
Your suggestion is very reasonable but just to let you know, whenever you start something with 'I'm not whinging, but' it will instantly make everyone think that you are, in fact, whinging. lol
I remember watching your Eldar v Tyranids massive battle report years ago. It inspired me then, and you continue to inspire me today. Thanks so much for the fantastic content.
OK SS82, the next one has to be the Guard (and maybe a small force of Space Marines) and Tau temporarily putting aside their differences to face a horde of Nids, Orks or similar.
@@malekiththeeternityking5433 Sure, the Imperium and hating the alien/mutant/heretic is all well and good ... but the Greater Good has big tiddy hooved blue women.
In fairness T’au had a pretty low amount of anti-tank firepower. They should’ve brought more stormsurges in place of the Ta’unar and I think the breachers weren’t worth taking especially without any transports. Turn 1 was also a pretty big advantage. Am I the only one who was slightly hopping they would’ve played it like the T’au vs Guard bridge battle where they brought in units as the game went on?
I wonder if those Fire Warriors at the end were captured, slaughtered, or if they tried to run and meet up with Shadowsun's force. That would have probably also been a slaughter.
that Plasma Leman Russ is actually the volkite one, though I assume they are just subbing it in for the Plasma one Also cheeky James sneaking in the Titan like he was trying to add another Chimera in XD
Your batreps are EPCI!!! Epic armies, beautiful board, great back story. Scenario could be tweaked next time tho... Tau going second and being sitting ducks without any cover or room for manoeuvre meant loosing most of their interesting stuff in first turn, kinda made it a done deal straight off. Maybe use normal Apocalypse rules next time too so everyone gets at least one shot off? Anyway thanks for all you're doing!
I feel like you should have split the placement of the Tau reinforcements. They were so effective, you'd have caused much greater pause for the Guard by putting them in opposite corners. That said, I love this battle report and actually any involving Guard, something about regular Joes fighting off all and sundry..... Love it!!! Also, love the enthusiasm of James! Keep up the battle cries James!!!! PS: I've watched this game 6 times! :)
Loved the game. Next time I'd let everyone fore their weapons for the first turn and then remove the dead. Or use the Apoc game rules... or give the defenders a 4++ void shield for turn 1 for the whole army.
What an awesome batrep. Your channel got me back into the hobby and through some really tough times. Awesome . Love the paint scheme on Mitch’s tanks , what colour is that ?
Thanks for the feeback🙂 have a look at the last few challenge battles featuring Mitch's sola auxillia...he talks about his paint scheme in one of those games👍🙂
Epic! My thoughts: when astra already has a pincer position at the start of the battle and first strike tau would need like 30k points to have any chance or massive def advantage or first strike. this way the outcome was kinda obvious. awesome batrep tho!
I see apocalypse, I like. Thank you for all your apocalypse batreps mate (and all of your other great content #apocafiend#thisistrue40k)! Now... to the carnage 😈🤘
This was great to see, I love this big Apoc games. FYI, while the end result would have likely been the same, the Warhound Scout Titan hits on 3+, not 2+.
This is one of the few bat reps Ive ever seen where Tau lose. Im not gonna lie, im a bit sore, since a buddy of mine keeps kicking my ass with them. It flummoxes me how to win against them. Hats off to the guard leader, I have no idea how you did it.
in the t'au first shooting phase you were saying longstrike hits on 2+ was there a markerlight i missed because i thought his BS changed to 3+ in the new book.
Could you make some list of casualties or kills for fighting factions in the end. Because it's difficult to understand who killed whom and how many Please make it I think it would be pretty useful
The warhound has a BS of 2+ in it's top bracket. It's not until it's down to 22 wounds that it's BS is reduced to 3+, According to page 104 of the Imperial armour book. Stat line says it only has 35 wounds though, not the 50 as stated in this game. I'm not 100% sure that this is the most up to date stat line for it, but I believe so.
Page 104 of the Imperial Armour Compendium (Current 9th ruleset) is the Knight Moirax. I think he was using the 8th Ed rules for the Warhound. Which is a sad reminder of how hard it's been nerfed in 9th Ed.

Nice display, not a great scenario. Starting first, with position advantage is a bad recipe. Just a shooting gallery. Anyhoo, I thought Apocalypse games resolved losses simultaneously?

Agreed, the first turn adavntage is extremely unfair for the guy that goes second (no matter the army) GW should add the rule you have suggested

That devastating and precise deep strike with shadowsun was such a Tau thing to do, it sounds like something that would happen in the books.
Your Apocalypse games are the best Batreps on YT! They always inspire me to finish painting the last set of units on my to do list.

That was an incredible battle, its my favorite out of all bat reps
1:44:00 so chimeras are basically armoured containers on tank tracks, I didn't notice it before
Awesome batrep. Nice to see the warhound not getting crippled straight away.
Ahhh yes, reminds me of the Tau vs Guard 6,000 point epic apocalypse game.

No, true Guard players never fight alongside with those degenerate xenos
No way, James is way to loyalist to ever pair with the xeno filth of the T’au.

Skyrays and hammerheads ahoy
As usual I love myself some t'au vs Astra militarum. My two favourite factiions.
Imagine having some of the most advanced tech in the universe and losing to humans with WW1 level equipment.
Everything counts in large amounts
Having had stormsurges and hammerheads enough to match the sheer amount of tanks, they would've died so quickly.
Saw it happening...
The guard had the ancient power of going first in an apocalypse game. That catapults win rates to about 90%
