I own Citreon eC3(Top Variant) and along with Petrol Hyundai Grant i10 Asta(O) (Top Variant ) .. Now I had 6000 kms plus drive in my EV .. Had Highway Trip to Bangalore .. Single day 450 KM .. acheived Highway millage of about 250 Km to 280 Km per charge on Eco Mode with full load (5 adult and 3 kids and boot space full of heavy lagguage ) Ac and Music system , chageing of phone on my 8 hours plus Journey . Fast Charge Power delivery nearly 38kw .. quick 40 mins 20 to 90 plus percent reached. Comfort in Top Notch .. Suspension was very premiem and steering control view of road and ease drive is wow.. for me .. I excepted some Cross SUV type of Car over Hatchback for funky look..for second car. I am happy with my choice

Just want know the degradation level of the air cooled batteries
@@fayizkurikkal9634 degradation level .. can be shown only on charging and discharging cycle .. this LFP battery and safe .. and have minimum 3000 plus cycle to 1000 cycle .. in LFP battery you can charge any number of fast charging .. there is no lagging in battery .. now 2 service over 17000 km driven .. 50 or 60 degree heat automatically it will not initiate fast charge .. .. No degradation battery ever

For nexons users says 3-4 percentage decrease on 30-35k kilometres . So i just want to compare
216 km for 31 kWh..at roughly 7 km/ kWh..so the range has to be 210, not 168 as mentioned in the video.
210 is a decent figure with 4 people on board and with high speed driving.

Absolutely. Unlike Tata/mahindra where claim is 450+ and if driven this way then actual is less than 250.
Can be due to battery temperature if temperature is high then battery charging current will be capped it can be checked with data logging
eC3, Tiago EV are purely for city driving only
For highways atleast Nexon EV Max or other models

If a person going A-B on regular basis then no issues . If he goes A-B-C-B-A its not possible to come without charging. And we need to think about extreme rainy situation how this ev gonna work

For range issue, u gave us all the reasons. Which is Full load, AC(from the beginning to end), pushed to max speed(inbetween). For a ev hatchback this is a good number.

I have faced the same issue with ola S1 Pro with hyper charges when the temperature goes beyond 30 it will slow charge...

Poor DC charging performance, I think sometimes it is also the lack of power at Grid or ambient temperature that could be the cause(WHich Citroen will refuse to accept mostly). Not to mention poor range performance as well (50% of the ARAI figures).

Battery heat will decide charging speed!, if battery in cool condition, then it will charge the full speed (maximum 25KW charging speed)!
Incase battery is too hot then the battery will charge below 6KW charging speed!

All we know that EV is mainly for city drive. Being knowing that you went to long drive with AC on, with full load and throttle at 100+also. I feel the scenario you considered is not meaningful. If you feel so kindly make all Tatas EV also in this same scenario so that we will come to know the real comparison.
Tata's are the pioneers for slow charging and low range, but high cost.
I think the slow charge is due to poor battery thermal management.. since the charging was done immediately after complete depletion the battery was already hot..
Since Citroen doesn't have a dedicated battery cooling mechanism. The charging was slow..
P.S I'm not a expert
You are right. Battery temperature plays a major role. Prolonged usage will damage the batteries

Battery should be exchangeable with charged batteries kept ready at bunks. Similar to gas cylinders. Govt should enact policy for the ev car manufacturers to stick to same type of batteries across the segments. This will help people to deposit the exhausted battery and pick up the charged ones. This will same time as well as no range worries

How many big batteries they will keep in bunk it will occupy a hell of space.. EV is not a game changer to petrol. Its not an alternative for petrol or diesel. We need to think innovatively like solar energy generation in cars
@@kimyangKo In India we have about 21 Cr vehicles which are fuelled by 53 k bunks. It works out to 3900 per bunk. If staked-up, with proper storage design it could be feasible.

160 km range is minimum 320 half range pannic
No one tests with max speed and claims the range.
Mileage is claimed by running the motor at constant 35 to 45kph speeds.
So expect 30npercent drop in range at 70 kph.
And 60 percent drop in top speeds. It can easily drain the batteries in just 120 to 130 range.
EV needs a lot of discipline in driving
No harsh breaks .gradual acceleration is the mantra for maintaining decent range

Through out the journey you won't be able to listen 🎵 or to have funny time with our fellow travellers......or pop out and look the beauty of surroundings....just keep on watching the instrument cluster......if something went wrong you need to have a rope to tie up or energy to push to reach your destination.... ......still a long way to go...

You dunno anything about EV and get misled by this review.
I have been driving Ather 450 for 3.5 years. Range anxiety will be there for 4 to 5 months.
Plus I never drove petrol vehicles.in my life
If you drive EV at constant speed like 60 to 70.you'll even end up with 240 to 250 km.in a single charge..
My friend did test drive on 65 to 70kmph speed with tiago he got 240km exactly. With just 24kwh battery. This has almost 29 kWh..so it should give atleast 250km considering the standard additional weight of 340 KGS of 4 people it may give 230 to 235km at 60 to 70kph speed.
Here he has tested at 107kph speed for 35km. Which will gradually impact range..
Max speed is there just to overtake or only when its really needed during emergency ..if you drive this long at max speed for sure you'll end up with 150 to 160km .
You cannot be a rash driver and expect 240km range from EV
For first time EV buyers who don't care much about ride comfort or want small car. Can gonl.with tiago. This is bit heavy car. Due tonwhivh battery capacity has been increased. It has more practical storage and spare tyre as compared to tiago which gives only puncture kit. Interior quality is below avg in Citroen compared to tata. What you get from this car is good over all built avg performance stability on road and airy cabins as.compared to tiago.
Features this lacks a lot compared with tiago eben though its 2 lakhs costlier than tiago
Misses reverse camera even when it has big touch screen. You need.to pay swperately for this reverse camera accessory.
Its up to you to decide
Whether u want airy cabins with good dynamics
Or a feature rich car which is also affrodablr and has great pickup and better speed . but compromises on over all build and weight. But battery protection any day tiago wins with its liquid cooling
Its a kind of middling to get this car.
If need airy car..I'll go with nexon prime.
If I need small car I'll go with tiago
There is thump rule. If u need to more cover kms than that claimed kms in the display. Drive at constant 40kmph speed. Normal driving has to be 65 to 75kmph only. Else you'll never gonna achieve the real range of 230 to 240km..
Don't panic when u see range drop. Soft pedal is more need for Ev's. Maintain consistent speeds . while I could compromise on many things. But this car has subpar regen.they should have given regen modes for city highway.
If you first time car buyer
Get tiago
If you want to shift from petrol to EV..
Get nexon ev max. Atleast you'll end up.with 280 to 300km range..even if you drive harshly.
Remember battery drain is not linear.
Up to 80kph..you'll see some linear battery drain.
Post 80kph..youll see battery consumption going very very high. Consider this car has only 80kph only max speed and drive accordingly..you'll be able to save a lot. Plus build a solar panel roof if you have own house and charge from it.
Avoid public charging frequently. Keep a solar panel kit ...in case if u don't like to call road assistance and got caught in a area where there is no charging center. Or have contacts of people who can supply generator. Which is way cheaper than towing or calling road assistance.
Solar panel kit won't get you that much charge hardly.it can charge 1 kWh for 2 to 3 hrs at max. But still good if you have parked somewhere for long hours and you get some 12 to 15 percent battery for a whole day of 8 to 12 hrs.

Full charge 230 km,but we have to recharge every 180km that means to travel from kochi to bangalire total extra charging 3 ,total time adds time 5hrs, total time 14hrs running may be more,good ride and handling ,but only good fr short drive 300 to 400km per day,final charging at home fr not day,we get 7km per watt,more charging time because air cooled battery,per watt rs 28,total cost per rs 3per km

Brother, the vehicle is better than Tiago ev..I'm the user who gave the car for review..in City driving conditions we can get 235+ kms on a single charge. Not recommended for highways
