hey as long as youre happy with the light thats all that matters but that specific led light is not outdoor rated, and its not even close to a 500w incandescent light rated. More like 150w. they also do not last worth beans, i bought 15 of these same brands and half burned out in a year. That mercury vapor light is deff brighter than the LED, but i know you dont have the property for a really bright like like that so its better you went down on lumens i guess
I disagree with what you said about the lights and ballasts but it’s your opinion, I love the humming, I think led is absolute garbage, and I think hid lights are the best bulbs
What a waste! That LED bulb is not a reputable product and the good old bulb is better. Why can’t you just replace the whole fixture with a reputable brand such as Lithonia or RAB. I bet you bought Amazon crap.
Usually I don’t mind but what really bothers me about this video is that he’s doing it to an older McGraw Edison light fixture. But I get he’s trying to save money tho. Still, I would’ve just preserved the old Mercury vapor.
Nicely done. Simple and straightforward explanation of the wiring. Exactly what I was looking for.
Why does the photocell take so long to shut off the corn bulb???
They have a couple minute delay so that things like lightning won't shut the light off
It’s called pulse start, and long story short it protects hid lights
Thanks for the information Sir. @@BRISTOLFORCE2009
Nice !!! @@116falconer
@@victoryfirst2878 no problem
Were you able to orient the photocell to face north or to the west? They will work more accurately if properly oriented. Nice job!

Thanks! My photocell in my light had gone out and I was shocked to find you can't get parts for them any more. This is exactly what I needed!
Thank you for sharing, I'm gonna follow your instructions today so wish me luck. Will post my results when finished 👍

This was the most helpful video that I’ve found. I have the exact same light, and was able to get it working again. Thank you so much.
Nice video. I have 4 of these on the farm to fix . Thanks for taking the time to do the video. Glad I don't have to go buy new lights.
That luminary is an handyman electric

NO wrong. It's common sense.
Handyman fixtures are actually pretty high quality. I would clean it up and re-wire it with a new ballast.
