Yeah this game was phenomenal, a tremendous props to the localization team on a project like this, with the way the narrative plays out it couldn't have been easy at all. I loved it.
After seeing you gushing about it on Twitter I watched a full let’s play of the game & was absolutely in love with it I’m planning to buy it whenever I can & go through it again myself

It's even crazier because the pandemic happened right smack in the middle of this game's dub. I bought the game last year based on your recommendation and just got around to playing it recently and finishing it. Will probably become a new favourite! Thank you so much!
Fantastic video as always. Love seeing more appreciation for this overlooked game. On a side note, I was kinda just in awe watching this video simply cause the visuals for this game are so beautiful, haha.
This has been on my backlog for a while now, but this video convinced me to finally pick up a copy! I'm about six hours in and I'm floored how it captured my attention. It's amazing how the disjointed, wild nature of the story remains comprehensible and never gets old. Appreciate the video as always!
It's probably because it's stuck in PlayStation jail...I'm hoping that the game releases later on other platforms like Nier Automata did. I don't think Nier Automata wouldn't have been "nier" as popular as it is now if it stayed only on PlayStation. I was so hyped when it was announced for Xbox, so I bought it and it became one of my favorite games of all time. This game should be no exception.
Don't count on it, Vanillaware usually doesn't bring games out of the Playstation bubble, wish they did since I don't like consoles but atleast they localized it which I can say more than other games.
Unlikely. Vanillaware literally only has 29 people working at the company, and they rarely outsource their work. The only things they outsourced for this game were publishing (Atlus), dubbing (Atlus West), and music (Basiscape). Vanillaware doesn't have a publishing label and has worked with Atlus before. They also don't have the overseas presence to dub a game themselves. And the founder of Basiscape is a friend of the founder of Vanillaware (who also directed this game). All that to say that they don't have the resources (both money and time) to port the game, and their (apparent) company philosophy to do as much in-house as possible wouldn't allow them to outsource all their work to port the game.
@@Gestrid To be honest I always thought that it was Atlas that was not interested in doing PC ports. However after success of Persona on Steam they should be very aware of JRPG player base of on PC. All that's left is just to convince Vanillaware to do it or allow Atlas to handle it. Maybe starting Odin Sphere or Dragons Crown to test the waters like they did with Persona and Catherine. However it might be wishful thinking on my part.

I was really shocked and interested in your video. I am a huge fan of nearly anything Atlus brings out to the west. Aegis Rim, however, didn't seem to be my cup of tea. It looked extremely interesting and was an interesting take on how the 13 characters are tackled. Seeing your video recommending it makes me want to actually give it a shot, like I originally intended. Thanks Aleczandxr!

Well like I said in the video, I enjoyed it. It isn't sinfully boring, and it doesn't hamper the story whatsoever. However, like I also said, it may not be to everyone's taste and it isn't a primary draw. When you buy this game you're getting it primarily for the story more than anything else. And the story is best experienced according to your whims to give you your own unique experience, so watching a playthrough kinda deprives you of that. I dunno, up to you.

I blame marketing. Everyone tries to advertise how great the game is while trying to tell you as little as possible.

Its niche nature and the fact that it's an under advertised console exclusive is the answer.

However, I've seen the battle gameplay in Aegis Rim and it looks SINFULLY BORING. Is it a big hurdle? Is it hard? Will it hamper my enjoyment of the story? Should I just watch a playthrough online, considering the only gameplay worth noting (to me, without knowledge) is the bland battle one?
Well like I said in the video, I enjoyed it. It isn't sinfully boring, and it doesn't hamper the story whatsoever. However, like I also said, it may not be to everyone's taste and it isn't a primary draw. When you buy this game you're getting it primarily for the story more than anything else. And the story is best experienced according to your whims to give you your own unique experience, so watching a playthrough kinda deprives you of that. I dunno, up to you.
kind of a spoilery question but I already completed the game so I figure I'd ask. What was unresolved/unfinished?
