#HondaVFR1200 #Acceleration #Testride Авто/Мото
I came from a 650 v-twin to my 2010 VFR1200. I drove relatively conservative at first. I found it easy to do. Over time I gradually unleashed the beast. A couple times I legitimately scared myself with how fast it accelerated though. If you're (theoretically) going 100mph on the highway and downshift to 5th and punch it, you'll rocket to 140 almost faster than you can register....... I've heard.
it really is a fast bike, so fast to the point that you can't hold on to in 1st and 2nd.
me to sv 650 to vfr 1200 f
@@johnmalcolm600 and what do you think about it?:)
@@XRayBiKes at first i thought what have i done just because of the size of the vfr im only 5ft 6 140 lbs however when rolling it is such a beautifully balanced bike you don't notice the weight difference if anything makes the bike feel more planted, a dont think a test ride does the vfr any justice you have to own one over a few months to really appreciate them, I love my vfr
@@johnmalcolm600 I'm 6t 2 and about 195lbs so it's fine for me, legs a bit cramped :) just changed the standard seat and it makes a lot of difference!!!
This is one of the only review videos where the commentator is at a loss for words about power, yet gets passed by minivans.
sorry Mr Rossi.....
We all know that minivans are the fastest thing on the road. It's a fact.
Jeremy Clarkson said it doesn't matter how fast you're travelling there's always white van man in the mirror.
Cracked me up saying you were scared by the power. Use what you are comfortable with.
that is why I did't twist the acc to the max....
A very honest man that knows his limitations. It’s not worth risking going mad if you’re not experienced. You’ll get there, and you’ll get used to the extra size and performance.
thanks man, I kept it for 1 year and 13000 miles but sold it because I couldn't keep up with the fuel consumption :))) not a bike for commuting :D
I own a 2013 model with a flashed ecu. It is a beast indeed but it handles and corners incredibly well. Madly in love with this machine
I'm looking to get the ECU sorted out also because at the moment in 1st and 2nd feels like you're riding a wild horse :)
@@XRayBiKes The guy who flashed my ecu can also do this remote. Perhaps it can be of interest to you as well? Advantage is that that you don't have to ship the ecu
@@hbor77 I found already a guy in Holland, his name is Stefan.....just waiting to get my wages :)
@@XRayBiKes yes, that is the same person 😁. You will not regret it 👍🏻
@@hbor77 It is impossible to ride it as it is in 1st gear without clutch...:)
Yep really, really fast bike, heavy but I found it dove into corners better than some sports bikes. I think the people that bag it would be very surprised if they actually rode one.
True true! My honda nc is 40 kg lighter, shorter but I've noticed that it takes corners worse than the VFR.
The VFR is 260 kg wet but it handles better even at low speed. Obviously filtering is a bit harder because of the width also in 1st and 2nd gear you have to be very careful as you could remain behind the bike :))
Ok
@@user-hl5tj7dd5z ok :)
It rides better in every aspect over my GSXR750 I had
I wouldn’t call it ‘the widow maker’ the VFR1200 has great stopping power.
Try riding the original h1 Kawasaki 2 stroke with no engine braking.. that’s a widow maker.
The best thing about these is that because they were so unpopular, used ones are really cheap! Definitely in the running when I get a new bike in the spring.
it's such an amazing bike
As a VFR1200F owner myself, it's not the Horsepower that can get you into trouble but the torque it delivers across most of the RPM range. That is why it feels like it wants to rip your arms off at almost any RPM above 3500 lol. Also, the Concours 14 is very comparable to the 1200F in terms of power, but it also weighs a lot more than the VFR.
bear in mind I jumped from a honda NC750s onto this :))
3 times more hp....
The BMW k1300s is the direct competition for the VFR1200F
Love this review I’m buying this bike this winter
mate, his sub button and stay tuned for more. I bought this bike after 30 minutes of riding!!! I'll make another review soon.
Been riding it for 3 months now and I must tell you it is such an amazing machine!!!! you won't regret it!
@@XRayBiKes awesome stuff love the honest review and really in-depth walkthrough and ride. Definitely subscribed bud!
@@MotoMiles nice bike the blue VFR in your video. It eats a lot of petrol but you are in USA so don't have to worry about it :D
Lol this review cracked me up .. nice job man, I want this bike!
thanks man! it is a wonderful bike but..there is a but....very thirsty 30 to 40mpg and if you buy pre 2012 check if it had the drive shaft recall made as there was a problem with the first ones.....after 2012 you get a 0.5l bigger fuel tank, traction control and little bit less jerky in 1st and 2nd gear :D
Good luck
@@XRayBiKes man, that’s good to know, thanks.
I have the 1200x vfr crosstourer and it’s superb . Same engine but more low down torque and less bhp .
Ha ha ha superb video! I love your "unrestrained" comments.
I have a VFR1200X Crosstourer and it is amazing!! The 1200cc V4 engine is sublime!!
Couldn't agree more! but thirsty :))
how big is your fuel tank?
1237cc engine
X-Ray BiKes great review, I've got Cbf1000 and thinking about change, I'm considering Blackbird or VFR1200, as I'm ride mostly in city could you tell me what's the fuel consumption around city for VFR?
mate, 100% it eats more than your CBF, I commute 82 miles per day and I have to fill her up every day with 9.5 litres. If you ride it only in town it's not the right bike as it is quite big and the turning circle is not very small.....if you live outside town like I am it is OK.
I'll make a review soon after I've done with her 6000 miles :D
Fuel consumption???? 😂😂😂😂 go buy a fuckin prius
Nice with the blue wheels, I have had a white with silver wheels, know the same bike is blue. I like it.
thanks
You can fix the grips issue with a set of Grip Puppies (£15 on Amazon)
Thanks for the advice man!
I got the grip puppies, they are comfortable but the clutch one is starting to rip :D
This is a future classic.
Just put a deposit on one today. Really enjoyed your test ride vid.
you will not regret it mate! This bike really blew my mind in this video, the power delivery and the power band is amazing!
I'll make another review now after 6 months of ownership and 12000 miles done on it :D
@@XRayBiKes - Look forward to seeing that video. It's refreshing to hear some honesty in your review.
@@danwall300 you wanna get 2013 onward model that has a bigger tank and traction control.
Also I think the same, I don't like those reviews made by bike magazines which are sponsored by the manufacturer and say what the manufacturer wants ....
@@XRayBiKes I only got the 2010 version. I got to ride it yesterday, like it. I moved from a BMW f800s and found the step up to really manageable. I'm a fan of the old BMW switchgear so need to adjust to Honda's. Do you find that the fan kicks in fairly frequently?
@@danwall300 yes the fan kicks in more than smaller bikes, in the summer in town will run almost all the time :), the problem with the V is that the rear pistons don't get too much air and that is why the fan kicks in more the on inline 4.....
Those colours are so tasty. 😍
thanks
I had both vfr 1200 and FjR and These bikes are a starter bike Easy and forgiving
Nice. Which bike was better?
Screen made for standard bar set up. Has that had a bar conversion?
yes, as you can see it has a normal bar instead of 2 half's
Currently looking at grabbing either one of these with only 6000km on it or a fully kitted out 2016 KTM 1290 Super Adventure with 25,000km on it. The KTM costs $2000 more, but does come fully kit out with a bunch of extras. Can't seem to decide between the two. Wish I could demo both, but covid makes that not possible right now.
depends what you want it for, this is not a bike for commuting, if you want it just for going out on trips you will not regret buying this bike! Powerwise will blow your mind!
Hello, can you tell me what exhaust was on it?
Werkes USA competition. It sounds amazing:D
@@XRayBiKes thanks mate
Been looking at this bike as a return to motorcycling. I owned a BMW K1300s a couple of years ago so the power and weight would be similar to what I'm used to I think. Also, hello Southend :)
Cool, I'm selling mine :D
@@XRayBiKes Why are you selling?
@@jammydodgerman I'm commuting 85 miles per day so I need to fill her up daily :(
What kind of bars do you have on your bike
not sure. I think they are LSL
I am much loving to my scary widow spider maker. I am being scared. I'll take it.
👍👍👍👍👍
i am not surprised you don"t like the grips as they are not standard bars or grips , it looks like some one has put a rental bar on it for some reason.
the bars are changed but the grips are original, I can tell that from the heating switch which is on the left hand grip....
Mine is great. 2012 and tuned to 190hp and 100tq. It’s a beast!
is your name Rick?:)
What mods got you to 190 bhp? I've had mine for 5 years and 50000 miles. Love it!
@@matthewsamuel2679 if I'll ever think about buying another bike I'll not be selling this one. I'll hang on to this until I die :D
Fucking great bike, mine is a freaking rocket. Love it!
fast you should try my turbo busa youll be in a coma and not a chicken coma either@D
Try a 2014 BMW K1300S mate.....It rivals the Kwakka ZX14R. 175HP THAT scares you!!!!
thanks for the recommendation man, hopefully one day I'll get my hands on one of those...
Stay safe!
The VFR also has right at 175bhp. It can match the K1300S.
@@Aberamentho2010 the VFR has way more power than you'll ever need. It's just a brilliant bike
Bafta 👍
Vesta aia face toti banii 🤣
de jupan :))
Who is this guy. There is much bigger and faster than that.
?
Not much.
Kawasaki H2SX sports tourer has more power.
Not hard to do with a supercharger.
true!
talk about someone that shouldn't even be riding if he's that fucking scared to even ride the bike....
not all of us came out our mothers on a motorcycle ....
BMW k1300s much faster, much better speed recuperation
still, this one looks much better :D
Whats up with hiviz 😂😂
for the road tax
pakizhtaahn?
Kim Riley?
@@XRayBiKes The accent is pakizhtaahney but it looks like some dual carriageway in the UK.
Kim Riley 🤣🤣 the accent is romanian and yes it is UK
