    He said exactly what everyone on the threads have been saying all along. Slight improvement on the x900f over x900e, but it drops brightness when X motion clarity is applied. If motion isn't important than x900e is basically the same. X930e is just a better display for clarity and brightness, aswell as local dimming and blacks. No surprises really.

    65x930e day 3 impressions:
    1. Just WOW every minute watching it
    2. Interface is really fast, everything is smooth, switching from movie/youtube to cable in 1 second. It loads 500 movies from ext HDD in 3 seconds, I can browse through all of them in 3 seconds, 2 seconds to load movie, preview is instant, 1 second to go back, I really don't know how it can get better than this
    3. The motion is incredible even if I use medium settings like smoothness on 3, I seen it struggles with top-bottom panning but such scenes are rare, it feels so smooth, is unreal
    4. Many settings, I noticed settings are saved by app, I can have youtube video settings and separate netflix video settings
    5. Wide viewing angles, this reminded me about a 2014 OLED I had, 80% like OLED, it beat the crap out of previous LG IPS from 2013. Being so bright, it doesn't lose details in many angles.
    6. Sound is clean and many settings regarding sound, but I don't care about it, I use a 7.1 system. It didn't require a setup, it loaded instantly with the tv.
    7. Too heavy, probably the heaviest TV you can have, heavier by 7kg vs Z9D
    8. Panel is angled {upper part is closer to the wall)
    9. Upscaling is amazing, I used only cable tv, movies at 720p/1080p and netflix and they look incredible, don't even tested 4k, I need my pants on
    10. Remote very easy to use, a con is that is too directional and I can't use it from slight off-axis
    11. HDD doesn't turn off with the TV.
    12. Turning on TV goes to last app instantly (in 3-4 seconds after pressing power)
    13. Switching cable programms is fast, changing volume is smooth with included speakers, a little choppy when used with a receiver
    14. Dark sides and darker corners, nothing I worry about
    15. I use movies with subtitles, the subtitles are so clean with no blooming or clouding, it's super sharp
    16. Power cable of this TV is a joke, no power brick, only 1 meter cable or something, it's like a cheap boombox radio power cable from the 60s, no earth, I know it's enough for 250W but still, the worst part of this TV. I have an alarm clock that has a better cable than this.

      Hi I am confused between the 55'and 65' versions of this TV. I need it for my bedroom where I'll be sitting about 9 to 10 feet from the TV. Would you say that nothing less than 65' inch would do to take palpable benefit from this TV?

      @@anandkumarjaggi I have the 65" X930E and sit 8' from it - also in my bedroom (it's perfect). So yeah, if you'll be seated 9 or 10' from it you'll need the 65" for immersive viewing. 55" won't cut it at those distances.

    Just to clarify that the XE93 isn't just edge lit. It has slim backlight drive plus, which is essentially a four layer edge light system. probably the most advanced one on the market. Most edge lit tv are just single strip and have many less zones.

      Yes i said that in my post. But the reason I make this clarification is because the ignorant amongst the Samsung community will claim that having an Edge lit TV is better than a backlit one. When infact this particular arrangements of Edge lit LEDS is not conventional.So yes its Edge lit, but its not simply Edge lit, its more than that.

    No one should regret buying the 900e. It was literally the best bang for your buck 4K that could compete with high end models without the high end price. Of course technology improves every year, but the 900e is still an incredible TV that should be shown off! I couldn't find a justification to buy the 930e for nearly $400 more in-store. As someone who just bought x900e I'm glad Vincent put this video out.
    I know the TV I bought wasn't top of it's class, but do note that Vincent had to exaggerate the exposure level of the video and slow down the recording to even show the faults of this X900e model.
    In my opinion, even though the x900e is a mid-range set; from it's design to it's performance and price, it feels premium. It doesn't support DV, but I've seen it IRL side by side with HDR10 and it didn't blow me away. The HDR performance is good enough and the detail I get when playing on my PS4 Pro is incredible.
    If you have the money, go for the X930e, but if you don't, then don't sit on the x900e unless you're really need DV support. Now I sit and wait for QA meltdown.

    Thanks for the video Vincent. Really professional and informative. I've already gone with the XF90 (65" version) for a brilliant price of £1399.99 including a 5 year manufacturer's warranty from Sony, but I was still interested in this video comparison all the same. I've had a very quick look, and I'm not certain, but I think the other two are now unavailable to buy brand new anyway?!
    And since I'm upgrading from a faulty Hisense H65M7000 which I picked up in July 2017 new for an amazing £849.99 (and for which I will be receiving a full refund), I'm sure I won't be disappointed with the XF90 by comparison to what I have now. Thanks again, really professional information and advice. 👍

    Most informative for TV buying decisions! Was making a choice between the 2017 X930E, 2018 X900F and the newest 2019 X950G, all 55-inch and this covered two of them. If money were no object I'd be buying the X950G. It's $300 USD more than the X930E, and the X900F is $200 more. The price difference between the X900F and X950G is too close, so consideration of the X900F was dropped. This video plus your most recent review on the X950G sold me on the X930E. I've got other priorities for the $300 and it will give me what I'm looking for in watching movies from a mix of NTSC DVD, (2k) Blu-ray and 4k UHD. Nearly all are Blu-ray and will be upscaled.
    Edit: Just received the X930E this week and set it up. It is *heavy*! In the brown two-layer freight shipping carton it's about 100 lbs. Out of that it's down to about 90 lbs. in just the retail packaging carton. Once set up with stand it's down to 80 lbs. - still noticeably heavier than the newer and most other 55". Also significantly heavier than the 46" 2010 model year KDL-46EX600 Bravia LED it's replacing. I'm impressed with the upscaling from 1080p to 4k, the contrast and the color space. Experimenting with some of the basic picture settings and you are exactly right, it's a light canon if the ambient light setting is turned off and brightness isn't adjusted from default. WOW! Had to dial that down some as it nearly blew me out of the room. Not only is the larger picture a welcome change, the clarity of image and color is dramatic.

    When doing the blooming test i would do it much more carefully since they differ in maximum brightness, and mostly peak brightness, the ideal video scenario would be using the "pontual" exposure of the white box on each set instead of maintaining the same camera(exposure) configurations for each, the x900F felt like it was the one with the most blooming, does not matter if the video must be viewed and heard at the same time many people will not understand it or put it out of context.

    We bought the X930E just before Christmas, and we're very impressed by its performance. We don't use it for gaming, so we weren't concerned with any lag issues. However, we do watch a lot on Verizon FIOS which isn't in 4k (and not likely to be anytime soon), so the upscaling ability of the X1 Extreme processor were important. I manually installed the DolbyVision update when it was released in January, and DolbyVision content on NetFlix looks amazing. I don't yet have a 4k BluRay player, so I'm waiting until the HDMI/DolbyVision issue gets sorted out.
    The X900F didn't come out until the 2018 CES and it looks like a big improvement on the X900E. Pricewise, right now in the US, the 65 inch X900F is selling for around $200 more than the same size X930E.

      i actually took back my 65 c7 for this tv not because the c7 wasnt a great tv but becaise i have the c6 from 2016 models and other then a slight better color representaion and the fact theres no 3d im telloling you and anyone else tgere is no visible brightness difference i only got the c7 because lg claimed it was 25 percent brighter that was just a lie atleast om my c7 compared to my c6.. i will say there is less noise in dirty screen effect but i wanted a brighter display for my living room as it is bright but i will say if i didnt already have a c6 i would of kept the c7 over the sony 930e but i want it for gaming and brightness for hdr and the sonybis better at both in my oppiinion... and cheaper

    So glad I went for the XE93, on your advice from a previous video may I add. Have a PS4 pro so the lag time is not a problem. Bought it from Richers as well and they we’re great. I’m really glad I found this channel and Vincents reviews! Extremely well presented and informative.
    Seems like I have been around the block and back again trying to find the best tv/price/size for my needs . Started looking at Lg OLEDs but went by a Best Buy and decided I could “live” without an oled for now for various reasons (price, retention possibility, thought they looked great of course but not worth the extra expenditure). Then i started looking at Lg, vizio, and TCL LEDs and ended up at the Sony’s after seeing some comparisons over at RTINGS... And I’m GLAD I did.
    I was sure I was going to get the 900F especially after seeing Vincents review full review... Then I saw this shootout and I was very conflicted. Like others have mentioned the 930E wins out slightly in almost every category. I was just about to order one but then I saw his review for the 930E and there was one thing in that review he did not mention in this shoot, out and that is the fact that the 930 has top and bottom lit LED (as opposed to side) and that there can be noticeable blooming when letterboxing. He showed specific examples from The Dark Night with lamps near the top of the frame where you can see the blooming continue up to the edge of the screen. I realize (just like in this video) that the results seen on camera may be exaggerated, but this is something that would drive me nuts if I couldn’t un see it once seen type of thing (since I watch a lot of movies).
    I’m coming from a Pioneer SC-LX5090 (their last Plasma in the EU)which was my main TV since the day it was released and only sold due to moving back to the states... so am hoping to come as close to that as possible without having to buy an OLED just yet.
    So, Looks like the 900f is the best choice for me at the moment based on the non oled sets I have researched so far. Now just not sure if I want to buy now or hope it goes on sale for Black Friday.

    • @taradead
      @taradead 6 лет назад

      if sports is you main viewing, then you'd be stupid to pay that much more for anything above an X900E. Sports look flawless on the X900E...movies, not so much.

    • @sermerlin1
      @sermerlin1 6 лет назад +3

      taradead "that much more"... it's really not that much more and x900f is taking the lead in all fronts. He is not stupid if he gets x900f. I just bought x900f and it is the better choice. It exceeds in all even input lag. 1080p only 12.9ms @120hz.

    • @taradead
      @taradead 6 лет назад

      "stupid" was a bit harsh, but $500 difference between the 55 inch X900E and X900F is significant. I don't think the small improvements are worth it.

    Something to keep in mind is in Vincent's review of the 930E he mentions how blooming is an issue in the letterbox bars because of the edge lighting and the fact it's from the top and bottom of the set as opposed to the usual sides. I didn't see any mention of that here, so just to keep things in perspective, it's not all peaches and cream.

    • @Lawtypes
      @Lawtypes 6 лет назад

      Donald Bonner dude did you watch the video.. all 3 sets has blooming.. but the 930e has the best control for blooming

    • @monstalova
      @monstalova 6 лет назад

      chith siriphat the camera was overexposed. What you're seeing is not relevant while watching exactly. X900e has very minimal blooming but it spreads across a wider area. X900f is similar to the X900e with more pronounced blooming. X930 has stronger blooming because of the high brightness focused on a smaller area, as it has better local dimming zones. You mainly see the blooming in HDR content, lesser resolution is very faint.
