I dispute the statement that only one political party here cares about whether we vote. I think both parties clearly care about this. One party wants to get as many eligible voters as possible to do the thing, and wants eligibility to be as wide as reasonably possible for determining a single country's leaders. The other party knows that it only stays in power if people don't vote, and they're trying very, very hard to make sure that as few of us as possible get to vote.

I have done my share of protesting worthy causes which I am proud of now. I can not imagine these Cheese Cake Factory protestors regaling their children and grandchildren with their brave stands against a piece of cloth. Protesters who gave their lives for serious causes must be weeping in heaven over these fools.

Says a lot about Ohio that they elected a guy that knew about sexual assault and turned a blind eye to it. What they claim and what they are hasn't been in sync for a long long time. For example, Ronald Reagan is the god of fiscal conservancy for republicans yet he tripled his inherited deficit and debt and had the debt ceiling limit raised 18 times in 8 years with no crisis or objection from republicans. The debt ceiling was raised 5 times in 8 years under Obama and twice the republicans caused a crisis. During Trump's 4 years in office they raised the debt ceiling limit twice with no objections or controversy but in Biden's first year they caused a crisis over the debt ceiling increase. Obama reduced his inherited deficit by almost a trillion at one point and then left Trump a deficit of 666 billion (notice how republicans/religious zealots said nothing about that number) and then with a steadily growing economy and regular job growth he increased that deficit 50% in 2 years and then after the pandemic hit he exploded it out to 3.1 trillion in 2020. Yet republicans said nada. In other words, republicans have been complete hypocrites for a very very long time.
