I agree with you, however, never buy a version 1 product from Apple. The next version will be MUCH better. You have been warned! :)

Firstly I don’t think this will be an annual product like the phones, if they release another one it would probably be the non pro. From a dev perspective I rather jump on this tech early. Very rarely do you get a chance to try something on an emerging technology platform .
But yes I’m sure v2 will be much better.
