As a former DoorDash driver, $3 on a $30 order is honestly pretty average. It's 10% after all, it would be fair if they were making at least close to minimum wage and getting compensation for mileage. Of course, I quit DoorDash when I worked out that they were paying me between $1 and $1.50 per delivery depending on distance (with the $1.50 mark being hit at about 10 miles and frequent 12-15 mile deliveries in my area because my city was set up by an idiot and everyone in charge since doesn't want to piss people off by redrawing the areas) and I could make a lot more for less work just by working at a pizza place.
