I wish I found your channel sooner. There is a vareity from Kenya which I can recall as Apple Mango. This was one of the most delicious mangos I ever had growing up there. Also there are varieties good for juicing.

Love the hat! I could sure use one. I'm really impressed with Alex. He's like a mango encyclopedia! I've been thinking of getting rid of my fruitpunch tree, which I planted a little over a year ago. It's barely grown since I planted it and it's always covered with what looks like black soot. Thanks to Alex's comments on fruitpunch, I've decided to cut my losses and replace it with a less disease prone variety!

Hardly makes sense you can be permitted to ship a tree but not the fruit.
I bought a Mallika from a local nursery. Haven't yet tasted the fruit. But if I had seen this videos before buying it I would not have purchased it knowing about that potentially bad tasting ripening issue. Now I think it will stay in the pot until someone wants it.
With all the enthusiasm you guys have, wouldn't it be nice if you could open up a Tropical Acres Farm outlet in California!!
Because even with the locally available mangos im grocery stores or Farmer's Markets its hard to find anything that is fresh or that has any flavor worth eating.
    we are missing out!!
    😀😀
keep making these great and informative videos

Which mangoes are the ones that need cold to flower? Would be very good information for dry hot (schorching sun) areas with mild colds like central Texas zone 9. I bought a Carrie mango it’s still in pot but has grown since I got it two months ago and it’s exposed to our scorching sun and has no damage to trunk or leaves it’s flourishing looks very healthy but I’m terrified to lose it if I put it on the ground it’s still to small about 11/2 ft tall I think I’ll try next year, I would like to plant other varieties but there’s so many to choose from

I really want to try some of those "exotic" varieties he has listed on his web page and some of the new Zill varieties that I just have not had a chance to try yet. , I met Alex a couple times bought some trees from him, I'm out of space for more trees, but there is one tree I want to graft a couple of new varieties onto my Edgar tree, so will probably get some Scions at some point.
