I hated Rocket Rush after I replayed the game 21 years ago after I discovered it. Now, I don't hate it as much. Still can get frustrating from time to time when I go back to it.
The one thing I Lillie about Bopopolis is that once you start get better at the stage and know what’s next, you can beat it with a net 0 amount of lives wasted and gained. You could even profit. Then again this is based around skill level and how good your timing with the jump button is
There's a video list of the hardest levels of the original DKC trilogy out there that's also worth a watch, R-cast was the channel name I think. This types of videos are awesome haha. I could watch them all day. Makes me wanna bust out the SNES and 100% the DKC trilogy!
1- Bopopolis is the most hellish DK level ever o_O 2- Levitation station is almost hellish as Bopopolis . 3- Animal Antics because of the Squawks part . 4- Rocket Rush because of the awful controls .
For me, the hardest level in each game is DKC: snow barrel blast DKC2: animal antics DKC3: poisonous pipeline DKCR: perilous passage DKCTF: crazy clouds
DKC1: Snow Barrel Blast and Platform Peril DKC2: Animal Antics and Screech Sprint (If ZSNES: Klobber Karnage because of the glitched barrels.) DKC3: Lightning Look-out and Rocket Rush (Specially if played on Super-hard mode that removes the checkpoints and almost all of the DK barrels except 4) I didn't played the other two tho
The Golden Temple is a Breeze compared to Perilous Passage. 😬 (In all honesty, golden temple is pretty hard, but in my opinion Perilous Passage, is so much harder. Still enjoyed the vid though)
@KokonutOil For me it's the hardest since I sometimes bounce off the guys at bad timings and go shooting into bottomless pits. Animal antics and toxic tower are usually one shots for me due to the intuitive level design.
Snow barrel blast is not that hard once u discover the lil goofy secret way lol However it’s pretty hard first time u play it, considering u have to do that one and two other levels before u can save the game lmao

For me the two hardest levels in all 5 games (in Normal mode) are:
DKC: #2 Platform Perils, #1 Snow Barrel Blast
DKC 2: #2 Klobber Karnage, #1 Animal Antics
DKC 3: #2 Lightning Look Out, #1 Stampede Sprint
DKCR: #2 Blast and Bounce, #1 Perilous Passage
DKCTF: #2 Platform Problems, #1 Bopopolis.

Lightning Lookout and Rocket Rush are the game over causing levels on DKC3

In DKC 1 There is a way to skip the whole barrel blasting part by taking a secret barrel at the bottom of the level all the way to the end.
I kinda feel the graphics from dk 1,2,and 3 still hold pretty good to this day
You don’t know true pain until you’ve done bopopolis without help from any of the Kongs
And while using a controller with joycon drift
Try crazy clouds, that level is just torture

I can confirm golden temple is not the hardest level in the DKCR its just very long. Perilous passage and jagged jewels are the hardest
the hardest level in DKC Returns is definetely 6-K. OMG THE ELECTRIC BUGS

It's personal but I would always find the first to be the best.
Rocket Rush really? I never found that one hard. Same with Lightning Lookout.

Bopopolis to me is the easiest level in the entire game. World 7 however, especially if you want to collect everything... Waaaaay to mean.
Golden temple isn’t that hard compared to some other k levels. Same goes for bopopolis.
