I think Sherman Alexie's book The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is so accurate on how we have to code switch between our world and theirs. Its very hard to fight the colonized mind set, and we need to support one another when trying to reconnect with our culture.
Yeah, different degrees of consciousness creates different worlds, and yet when one feels either like be controlling or being controlled, something vital is not fitting into existence.
