The river is called "Bayera" by the locals and is a sub-tributary of the Brim river. It is much deeper than 12 feet, built by the British to serve WACRI which later became CRIG. The Dam services was extended to the township in the 1970's. There has a casualties there when one worker committed suicide by drowning near the Dam site. I lived hear as one of the few black families in the 1960's
