    Dude! This is literally like a new lens to view life itself, like real life. This is so deep! Thank you man. I shed some happy tears watching this, so many realizations and memories came back to me. Also yes, I dropped last week and I feel like a whole new person refreshed and ready to take on life. Seriously, thanks man for this one! Next time I drop down trip lane I'm putting this on.

    Pez my man, im sorry you went through so much when you were younger. A lot of us go through some form of trauma and in the last few years I've become conscious of the fact that my adult behaviour in some ways is actually a result of that trauma. I don't agree with drugs and whatever but therapy is a really good idea. We go through a lot and we collect baggage along the walks of life. We need to let some of it go while opening the bags and taking only the lessons with us. One of the reasons FF7 is my all time favourite game is because of the time in my life that I found it. It was a very personal and lonely time for me and in the gang I found some friends.

    Was a huge Cloud/Tifa fan during the OG but seeing Advent Children and Remake made me realize that Tifa deserves better LOL. Their interactions toward each other in the Remake felt more like brother/sister and that Resolution scene was more awkward than sweet with that “You’re hurting me scene”.

      Yes Cloud is always cold to Tifa and when Tifa was young she was dismissive of him. Cloud and Aerith are much more suited for each other.

    As a child, I listened to Returne to innocence by enigma, I was maybe 5-6 years old and did not know what the song was about, then I forgot about the song for 25 years, not knowing the name of it. Then, all these years later as i was working to fix my own psyche and finding myself I remembered this song and looked for it. When I finally found the song, I had a profound feeling of the paradox of what I was searching for in my life and finally understood the theme of the song in context to my own life. So basically, my child self, knew the key to fixing my later in life problems as an adult.

    Loved the video! I'm so happy that you've made this connection with Aerith and Ayahuasca/Pachamama! Aerith comes up a lot in my Aya processes. Not as a character, but her essence and energy, as I associate her with unconditional maternal love, playfulness, joy and being unapologetically authentic and real. I also got so excited when you talked about that scene where Cloud is piecing himself together in his memory in OG, because I had an Aya process where literally the same thing happened to me, and I even thought about that scene with Cloud and I couldn't help but laugh...while in process. 😆🤣
    In my process, I realized that I had shut out "the little girl" who was me, in the cold, and I opened the door to allow her inside. I comforted her and told her that I've got her and will always protect her. Ayahuasca made me realize what love truly means, that it's not just a feeling, but it's the fabric of the universe, and it's life itself. It's a high vibrational energy and state of being (I've made a video talking about my experience btw). It was my first glimpse of the divine, and of true love, peace and bliss.
    Anyway, I love that you've made this connection! You GET it. I'm not crazy. 🤣👌

    oooh... I knew you'd go deep, but tbh I was taken aback at just how deep you went. Had to take a minute to think about my response, you definitely know how to start a conversation.
    So many things you shared your thoughts about, but one thing I am glad you said is that it's not only Ayehausca that can help with healing childhood trauma/memories. I feel that each person has their own unique journey towards healing and understanding, and therefore the manner it comes about will be that which is perfected for the individual. I have a deep interest in psychology, emotional trauma and inner healing and this is partly why I am fascinated with this game. The characters are just so flawed and relatable.
    I've never taken Ayehausca as I feel it needs to be taken with respect and with the right attitude, otherwise can do more harm than good. But have had a very intense mushroom experience that gently took me to a very profound place where truths were revealed to me in layers. Much like your exploration of the themes that run through FFVII, which goes deeper each time I watch a vid. You never fail to leave me thinking. Asking questions. Gaining understanding of both story themes, game characters and myself. Life is so much bigger than we can imagine, so more complex. I'm so excited that Japanese storytellers are not afraid to deal with 'taboo' subjects such as spirituality and mental illness... and here you are not afraid to delve alongside them.
    It's a little ironic then that sometimes these complex problems whittle down to 'simple solutions' such as unconditional love and acceptance. Not that I'm saying the world's problems can be solved with a hug from mom... but I hope you do understand what I mean, and just how profound and powerful those solutions are.
    Dewd... all I can say is keep on doing what you're doing. Not everyone gonna get it, not everyone ready to let go the old ways. But for those who are... they gonna listen. And I'm definitely going to be rewatching this. :)

It took what felt like an eternity of damnation to get there, but it made the bliss of forgiveness infinitely more beautiful.

And this one came at such a fitting time for me, as I'm really getting into meditation and all. And what you're saying about the planet saying humanity is coming to this point and now is the right time, I feel like that's reflected by a lot of espers and psychics today about our coming time as well, Age of Aquarius starting as well... It's crazy that FF7 Remake is coming out around this path too, showing us the way. Maybe Nojima, Kitase, Nomura, and Uematsu really are something more than we think or at least tapping into something deeper, connected to everything you talked about. Thanks again!

    Memories are so important to us all, whether we recognize them consciously or not. FF7 OG touches on a lot of themes of memory, childhood, death, love...but given the tech at the time and being in text form, it was intentionally vague and left to interpretation, what Nojima has said. But with Remake, this is the opportunity to really nail home these themes and lessons in painful, enlightening detail. I mean, each video you make seems to hit everything on the head and how deep the story and characters go, Remake has really breathed in a second-life to FF7. So maybe Cloud could be a new class, Memory warrior.

    This is good analysis on how Cloud gets his spike in strength. I guess I had regarding this is that the Jenova cells in Cloud reacts when Sephiroth is near which allows him to match his foe in terms of power. However this does not explain how he was able to beat Sephiroth that first time in Nibelheim.

  • @Locaneo

    If you have not I really suggest having a look into the game Xenogears (I personally consider it to be in the top contenders for greatest video game story ever told, if only it was finished...) It was one of the scripts given by the staff to be FF7 but was rejected for being too dark and mature. Many elements of it echoed in FF7. Not sure if it's too relevant now, but many of these themes were in both games, 'like a foggy mirror's reflection'.
    Jungian and Freudian psychology mixed with Gnosticism and a more Divine sense to find oneself rather than naturalistic spiritualism. There are a lot of echoes between games like both Cloud and Fei having 3 selves; the presented but manipulated self (Persona), the berserker within (Shadow), and the true Self. Both have an alien from the stars/anti-mother, which carried over as a theme in: FF7, Parasite Eve, and Chrono Trigger. Both also have a guiding/positive Mother archetype that reverberates across time genetically and memetically.
    It's quite a trip, like seeing FF7 from another timeline. I Would Not suggest playing it. Watch it as it can be frustrating, gameplay can jump wildly in difficulty to being fun, tedious, or BS. Lots of plot threads fell apart due to budget constraints. But researching into the progenitor of the Xenosaga/Xenoblade games was a beautiful endeavor for me and I'd like to share it. It changed my mind on many things and helps me feel more comfortable with my existence. Big shout out to Resonant Arc for summarizing the game.

    I think it's sad what happened to NSP, nobody should be discriminated about their race but I still don't think he should have a second chance. He obviously can't handle being the negative part of the community and he made it all about himself being a victim of FF7's fans and from his own expectation towards Square, it's frustrating. Most people don't even know how disrespectful to the devs and writers his videos were last summer. Not only me, but a whole lot of people were annoyed by his smugness, cynicality and sarcasm, we had to look for other channels like yours and BltZz's to get away from him and it's like we're all being seen as one and forced to give him a place again because someone pushed it too far. One wrong shouldn't allow another wrong to happen

    Whether there are any connections to shamanism or not, this video does show the genius and intelligence the creators of FF7 had and continue to show in the remake. They did a lot of studying in all of the aspects of human civilization and may have even experienced some of it first hand. I'm honestly jealous of how brilliant they were in writing this and the ultimania that follows it.

    I love this video. Always resonated with the connection ff7 has to the spiritual world and found strong correlations to my own feelings, experiences and memories ever since a young child. I always resonated with Cloud trying to find himself by accepting his truths and healing his child wounds by disccovering the origins of who he is, for me Aeris has always felt like that archetype figure and I had seen her reflected in people that I know myself who helped guide me to my self through dreams and my experiences and she resembles someone I felt like I have sought out before. I could go on for days the symbolism that ff7 has, it truly is a reflection of the world we live in and as a child I always felt that but only now found the words to truly express that and still to this day I see more and more correlations of the world we live in and what's depicted in a game I happen to know very well 😅

    LOL! After seeing the intro, I have to admit that I wondered if this would come back around. 😂 I watched the whole video, and it was fun seeing you make connections to your ideas on shaman experiences, LOL!
    Final Fantasy Peasant, you embody what it means to have fun creating theories. Sometimes things can become polarized when they gain popularity with a lot of people. But, it's important to remember that the heart of it all is to have fun. There has been a wave of negativity going around the idea of Theory Crafting lately. It usually starts with the idea that there are right and wrong ways for theory crafting. That's not the point. We don't know what happens next. That's why Theory Crafting is all about the possibility, not about being right or wrong. Keep playing around with ideas and being a positive influence in the community. Most of all, continue to have fun with it. 🎉
    45:55 About giving Cloud his memories, there is something unique about Soldier and the use of Mako. When you consider what Mako and the Livestream is, Shinra Soldiers have been borrowing memories since its creation. Imagine being overloaded with memories that are not your own. The madness that could induce on someone seems pretty akin to what Mako poisoning is. Memories and even the conscience of a person are crucial plot points. Sorry, this comment turned out much longer than intended. Keep being you, and please be safe! 👍

    When Sephiroth says "Nor will I have you end." Is that because he needs Cloud to deliver the Black Materia to him in the Northern Crater??

    • @tiffyw92
      @tiffyw92 3 года назад +2

      No, it's not just that, since Sephiroth could easily control any of his failed clones to go fetch it for him. It's the reason why Cloud & gang couldn't just leave the temple as is. But Sephiroth would prefer if it's Cloud who delivers the Black Materia to him; partly because he wants revenge, but also because Sephiroth's spirit has become tethered to Cloud's memories, which through power of Lifestream* allows him to keep resurrecting as long as Cloud still remembers him and he has some Jenova-infected people to use as vessels. Hence why he can't kill Cloud; that's his anchor.
      * This idea of the Lifestream was suggested in all of Nojima's books since "Maiden Who Travels the Planet". Memories + magic are basically what it's made of.

Motions of care and nurturing guidance, free pure energy to pass along the breeze and touch everything that exists unconditionally; seated upon rocks, lying still on leaves, engraved on tree bark .. the same winds that touch our skin everyday . The simple healing of being outdoors and being open to the healing light, the very thought and idea that you share this same earth with these plants, roots, herbs and flowers... they are always here for you as you are always here for them.

    Advent children brought up the term "memetic legacy". I remember watching an AC creator talk about how important that phrase was to the story. For those who don't know, the quick and dirty definition of memetics is replication of self through spreading idea's and memory. As opposed to genetics, or the replication of self through... well... you know...
    Think about it like this. If you have kids and raise them they are your genetic and memetic legacy. But, if you have kids and give them up for adoption they are your genetic legacy but not your memetic legacy. The future adopting parent will pass down memetic legacy, but obviously not genetic legacy. Further, memetics is not limited by parent/ child relationships. Anyone can spread their memetics to anyone else, all one needs to do is influence others to replicate skills, mannerisms, or core world view's that the influencer has.
    On a side note, memetics is where we get the word meme from. The definition of meme has shifted a bit since memetics was conceptualized. Even advent children predates meme culture by quite a bit.
    Actual scientific research into memetics used to be a thing, but isn't anymore. Any worth while ideas it had have been rolled in to other cultural identity research.

    You mentioned that Sephiroth lost his memories. But in FF7R he says “oh the memories,” supporting the idea that he is not the same Sephiroth

    • @FinalFantasyPeasant
      @FinalFantasyPeasant  3 года назад

      Yeah I mean Seph does slowly regain aspects of his memory in OG to, like he goes from not knowing Cloud at all and being Jenova dominated, to then very much knowing Cloud. But remake Seph could be clued up on whole other levels. I like the idea there is a bit of CC Seph rattling about in there :D

      @@FinalFantasyPeasant "like he goes from not knowing Cloud at all"
      I've always wondered about that. Why did Sephiroth free Cloud and the others from their cells in Shinra HQ if he didn't know who Cloud was? I assumed he did it because he needed Cloud as a part of his plan, to get the Black Materia for him. It doesn't make sense otherwise - Cloud's party should either have been left in their prison or killed along with the rest of the people in Hojo's lab.

    I'd like to point out a small error in your comment-- Vincent during AC hadn't found peace at this time. Dirge of Cerberus events happened after Advent Children, so Vincent was still searching for peace and had not made amends with Lucrecia yet. I think he was the exception in the idea of the others losing their strength-- after all, he's also the one who told the others to stay back and let Cloud battle Sephiroth. Also he does save Cloud in the Forgotten Forest and seems to have a different level of strength compared to Cloud.

    • @FinalFantasyPeasant
      @FinalFantasyPeasant  3 года назад +1

      Thats a good point actually. Makes sense Vincent isn't over his memories yet, could be part of the pep talk they have at the ancient city. Where Vincent makes Clouds geostigma flare up and explains to him the internal lifestream people have. Vince has interesting answers :D

    however i really enjoyed you sharing your personal story, would you recommend going on a spirt journey because as someone who suffers with a lot of mental health trauma abuse and abandonment, i think it could be beneficial to me
    or am i able to just get the ingredients and do it myself as opposed to going all the way there eithre way id like to recieve that level of healing

      hey bud! Thanks so much and I would say that of course, each person is so damn unique and react in different ways. Out of the 5 of us who i knew went, we all found a benefit in some way. Some to big life changing degrees, others just found themselves thinking about things even months later.
      But yeah I know lots of people who go Aya with some heavy baggage, depression, addiction, all the kinds of things a proper retreat are trained to handle. And believe me, when you pick a reliable place you are so so safe. They really judge the dosage and hold the space, ive seen people change as humans in the space of a week. Not to falsely get hopes up but I would recommend checking our the nature of ayehuasca documentary and some others if your interested. It is something I think everyone should have the opportunity to experiance when they need it

    Posted this in another thread but likely makes more sense here....So, isn’t it strange that no one at Shinra seems to really acknowledge Roche and his behavior? Especially when it comes to slightly helping Cloud and co after their second fight? Is it possible that Roche....is another embodiment of Sephiroth (like Kadaj in advent children). I know total theory territory but just occurred to me.

      Well this seems like a pretty unfair comment. I never advocated people to do Aya, and those who have asked ive mentioned being safe. That includes, training, prepping and doing everything correctly. To this day noone has died directly from Aya. Any deaths caused have been due to combos of medications or pre existing health conditions. Typically diabetics, people on anti-depressants or poor shamans who poorly mix the medicine. Either way to call the ayehuasca itself out is silly and ungrounded in science. Hence why Aya is getting widespread legal approval in many countrys. Its not about being 'cool', thats not the purpose and Im sure your sister didn't engage with the medicine to try to be 'cool'. People wanting healing is not something you should mock, look down upon and I don't think you would have done that to your sister so
