When they are more knowledgeable in speaking the english language than most of the generation now to think that most of them only at elementary level.. so proud of being an ifugao..
Nakaka relaks yung chanting of prayers nila...ang peaceful pakinggan.
Miss my grandpa from Amganad who is a mumbaki. Am always amaze how dedicatedand honorable the mumbakis to their faith.
Salute you the knowledge and the language and practice. Yet you speak good English
Thats because of American Colonies Philippines.. many Ifugao Tribe learn to speak English to better communicate American soldiers during world war 1
Keeping your old Traditions is very important for you.
The Evil are all invented religions who had spread their religions with fire and Sword.

I'm a new subscriber by the way. Please continue sharing your videos, they are very informative.

Proud igorot
Oh WOW! My mother told us that our grand father is a native priest (Mumbaki). I have little idea what it is. I grew up in Baguio city and now an IT professional in Makati. I would love to know more about my culture. Sad to think that our culture is shrinking. Anyhow, if there are videos that showcases the Ifugao culture, please comment below so that I can watch too. 😁 Hoping to learn more.
I really appreciate that our culture are preserved because the original culture of our Ifugao has a unique one.
Turn the IT into Indigenous Technology hahaha. Come visit me in Banaue.
That's very cool. There are fewer and fewer Mumbake nowadays.
The part which the mumbaki emphasize the true of nature of watching a TV in children's eye .. very interesting..

Galing mag english 😮
Mayat ah.
Interesado po ako sa Indigenous culture and wisdom natin and how it's connected with nature.
Hala-halamat!
They can speak four languages Ifugao, Ilocano, Filipino and English.
Lots of Filipino old tradition was lost when colonizers brainwashed us Filipinos with Christianity but we have never been better.
That's why practice your pencak silat and Tagalog pati narin yung pagsusulat nang alibata share this knowledge...
IGOROT lng ang hindi.
I agree about Christianity because it came from Roman.
But Your traditional lifestyle practice is Not giving The creator His due praise worship honour Glory. The creator of heaven and earth is Not Christian.. Christian came from Constantine Emperor.. the creator of heaven and earth is YHWH Elohiym and His Sons name is yesuah Hamachiach... Your traditional practice is not God but Satan...
@@harrysollmer1644 And this is a perfect demonstration why and how religions go to war.... because of it's different beliefs but it has one thing in common and that's faith...by the way Christianity didn't came from the ROMANS just to correct you Christianity started after Jesus Christ death first it was kabala that he practiced as a religion then the word Christ became a religion after his crucifixion hence CHRISTIANITY from Judea of ISRAEL get your facts straight before you start dabbing on you keypad about something you clearly not know...the roman did created CATHOLIC but not CHRISTIANITY...smh ding dong

Our ancestral lands/domains comprising our forest, ricefield, river systems, atmosphere, et.. are the base of our culture and traditional institutions. In protecting, nurturing and sustaining our ancestral lands/domains, we are also protecting, nurturing and sustaining our cultures and traditional institutions like the mumbaki. Thus the need to capacitate the people and local/traditional institutions. Organizing the mumbaki is a good move, for them to support each other and to generate/build support system from other people/organizations.
Nice documentary. More like this Laguitan.
Right on!
Thats my uncle i went to the Philippines and visited him i miss him since im back in the usa

In this Era of Climate Change (1995-2175+), new Gravitation to "One Times Two Times Three" (before 1995 it was "One Times Two") has an impending effect to planet Earth in almost everything, in technology and humanity.
The mainstream of Climate Change is Agriculture, thus followed by Business sectors; however, Vocational course are recommended to augment livelihood and whatever practical needs of life.
The return to Traditionalism, both in Culture and beliefs is a necessity for Survivalism, much more to the Basic necessities of life. It is necessary to strengthen the Individual, family, clan, tribe, and community in the reality and realm of Survivalism.
I hasten to add that my old Patriarch used the Tobacco soaked in water in kerosene can for 1-3:days, filter it, then spray it to vegetables, corn, and plants to have a plentiful harvest in Central Mindanao when they migrated in 1937 from Luzon Island.
That I share as a contribution to traditional agriculture.
Pant more hard wood trees with fruits to strenthen the soils and bedrocks, bamboo for prevent erosion on riverbanks and make use of traditional means to protect the environment.
I appreciate the tribal cultures in the Ifugao lands, in the Coldillera region.
I am a Researcher and sharing all these for the welfare of humanity.
God bless everyone.
Mabuhay!
Maganda pala sa ifugao. Sabi ng nanay ko ninuno nila ay ifugao mga lumawig clan dyan. Diko kilala mga kamag anakan nila sana makarating ako dyan
Dalaw kayo...
@@IfugaoCLC sana nga po makarating ako dyan.
I can't believe what I've learned about my long time high-school classmate!
Watching from gohang ifugao
Baki depends on anyones perception, if its in your culture well then that is not evil because that's part of it and its a way to feel the essence of being an Ifugao. Evrytime my titos held a baki I feel like Im back to my childhood days and feel great to myself I have a tradition like this. It's also a way to preserve ifugao culture. I am half ifugao half ilokano btw.
Thanks for your comment and point of view.
My grandfather is also a Mumbaki, all you say is true,i witnessed lots of his Baki since my childhood days.
Hana hinan comment mu.
It is very similar to our Naga Culture state of Nagaland Northeast India ,the food and traditional practices ,the way of farming.
🙌
Sana po may content kayo sa Natural Rice Farming technique
Coming! Abangan lang ninyo.
Baki is a way of life. It’s the way, we humans live for thousands of years, before , the introduction of modern hospitals by our invaders. It’s just like watching AVATAR movie. Every living things are interconnected. And we can seek healing trough connecting with other dimensions.
Bro this lolo speak so much truth
Thank you.
Maphoj waja blogger hi ibba..

Contact the filmmaker, Jo Kapuno, for technical question.

They say that is evil because of luck of knowledge...mostly they watch through yuotube without confirming the or asking questions to our lolos and lolas...if you see toutube some RUclipsr dont know what they are talking about they connect to the movies they are watching like monsters and doing harmful rituals...ask our lolo and lolas and you will know how beautiful our rituals as cordillerians....its full of respect...we know how to count our blessings, thanks the nature for giving as food and life....nature give as life, medicine, food, shelter etc...

i am also a MUMBAKI.
ibuliwong tribe of ifugao ethnic group.
according to our ancestors or aammod, we have no Tuwali tribe.
but we has a 13 sub-tribe as ifugao tribe group.
1. ilagawi tribe of lagawe
2. ibunne tribe of burnay
3. imuntab tribe of muntabiong
4. ibuliwong tribe of boliwong
5. ihingyon tribe of hingyon
6. ihungduwan tribe of hungduan
7. ibannawol tribe of banaue
8. ikiyyangan tribe of kiangan
9. hanglullu tribe of asipulo
10. kalanguyya tribe of Tinoc
11. imayyaw tribe of mayoyao
12. ihapuwan tribe of hapao
13. iyayangan tribe (bannal).
so, there's no "Tuwali tribe of "ifugao tribe group.
the word Tuwali, it means "because, gamin, dahil or ngamin.
May grand father too is one of them we call him as lulung hiano,, Our last name Umhao . He is one of the great Mumbaki in Ifugao.

The English translation should actually be Brave Bulul. But why not, add it to spice your tea. Lol.
He can speak English well
many student from ifugao studying here in benguet says that they are not belong to igorot people...
Kahit naman sa Benguet ay Kankanaey at Ibaloi. Sa Mt Province din ay Kankanaey at Bontocs. Pero okay rin kung Igorot ang tawag, basta walang madamang hangarin

Just know that your forebearers aren't the only ones suffering from the aftereffects of colonialism. You can share the language and culture but you can't guarantee people worldwide to part-take in the Baki, because that would get us all in a pile of arguments and division.
Similarity with budhism

So sad really, our culture was destroyed cause it was the attack of religion and partly our educational system. Also man's greed to subdue the environment because of money. When will we ever learn. Long live the mumbaki . they are the real part of nature and creation.
