  • In this video I am showing how the Feather Touch 3215 focuser looks like, how you attach a Primalucelab Sesto Senso focus motor to it.

Which size adapter did you have to fit to the go user shaft?

I am not sure what you mean with "go user shaft" but i believe i ordered the 33mm version, that one is specially made for feather touch 3" focusers.

did you look into the primalucelab esatto 3" focusers before deciding on the ftf? theres a nice focuser/rotator combo available from pll since while back; the esatto3.5" and arco3" rotator with a combined thickness of only 58.5mm and a free aperture of 76.3mm. What corrector are you using?

Unfortunately, the esatto was not released the time i bought my focus motor - but it looks quite interesting indeed!
A haven't really been feeling the "need" for a rotator, so that is for another setup i guess :)
The reducer i am using right now is the Riccardi 3" TS sells. I used the "TSNTRED" but changed to the Riccardi for my new camera with the (much) bigger chip.

@@ExoPhotography1 sweet. im building a 14" f3.6 custom newt and im currently trying to get my head around what focuser to put on the thing. the primary cell is accomodated inside the tube in such a way that it can be mounted in two, possibly three heights to allow for different size secondary mirrors and camera sensors from aps-c (~26mm) up to lowerend medium format at 58mm with the televue 3" paracorr. if i go with the esatto3.5" lp with a 0.1um step size i will have to custom manufacture an attachment base and telescope side adaptor but is really nice thin robotic focuser!

REgarding the focuser, feathertouch is rock solid - but there is other interesting alternatives!
Are you going to use is for visual anything? Isn't there any newton adapter for the 3 or 3,5" Esatto? thats wierd...
On my tube, there is three attachment point for the primary cell as you plan to make - and that is a VERY good idea - i have been adjusting my cell a couple of times depending on what reducer i use.
one thing to bear in mind - a larger secondary means more stress on the spring support, make sure it is ROCK SOLID - otherwise the collimation will be affected.
