I live in California and pistachios are a staple here, you can find them year-round in the stores but I’ve never seen an orange navel worm in my pistachios. Those ladies work really hard to give us good quality nuts.

Wow, I definitely just opened a pistachio and there were two of these worms. A bit daunting but at least with that we know there are no major pesticides present

I eat a lot of pistachio's and come across my fair share of them, it hasn't put me off though, its just a reality of nature.
It has made me check each one before I eat it!

I used to love these nuts but stopped eating them because i hate bugs and would get a worm in about every 10 nuts.

I've eaten tons of Californian pistachios (mostly from Lidl), never found an navel orangeworm in there :)

So that explains why the odd Pistachio has a funny taste to it. Maybe I should look at my nuts before I eat them eh?

Lately I've gotten about 1 in every 5! Not bags but actual nuts. Never had this issue before. I've gotten 2 bags that had more worm infested nuts than non- infested. 😞 Regardless of brand or store

I started eating a lot of Walmart pistachios for months. I started making a pile of the hard to open ones. I got looking had worms. I don’t know how long it takes but they’re in the nuts and will emerge. I think we eat lots with worms, only the dead worms taste bad.?
