Great video, Jayden! That is a really cheap price for a trip from Australia to China. And it looks like the service was great too. It’s unfortunate that the bathroom got so trashed. It makes it miserable for everyone when that happens. Very cool that you got to stay in a brand new hotel!
Great review Jayden! I fly those China Southern flights ex MEL, SYD for a couple of times. No frills really but by every standard acceptable amenities(Food, Drink, etc) and usually great prices.
Just a correction, China Southern's Shenzhen-Sydney route is only served 3 times each week, by its Airbus A330-300. During Aus summer season, Guangzhou-Sydney route will have a third daily flight. Besides, at the end of last month, officially no RAT test is needed when entering China from abroad. Hopefully, direct flights between China and Australia could almost reach pre-Covid at the end of this year.
Another fantastic review, Jayden! Can't believe I was on the very same flight (although luckily, sitting in the economy cabin just in front, I was completely unaware of the sorry tale with the toilet). Nice to see more Chinese airlines being reviewed - they seem to offer solid product overall (though pre- and post-flight customer service needs much improvement) at a very reasonable price. And no doubt competition from them would drive other carriers to improve as well. All the best with your travels in Asia.

Good review! I like your fair and well thought out comments and critique. I'm heading to China in the new year so will be interested to see prices after the CNY... Cheers😊
Had the same gate, 51, as you when I flew QF127D back to HKG in late Aug! Unfortunately the engine of our A330-300 had a small leak and our flight was delayed to the next day as such. SYD flight displays are always wrong! When our flight's STD kept being pushed back, the status of our flight was still "Gate open" or "Relax", not the newest estimated departure time. On the 2nd day, when our gate changed, there was no update on the display either. I noticed the change and had to update the check-in staff (since it didn't show a gate change in their system and they kept printing boarding passes with the wrong gate info) myself 💀💀 I expected a lot more from the main airport in Australia! Nevertheless, the Qantas flight was lovely (especially the crew!).
Hi Jayden, 2nd time watching this (3rd if counting your chinese version). Coz I'm from CAN, just want to point out that you should probably mention the fact transitting tickets from hub operators are usually much cheaper than only buying the long haul leg of it (CZ326).
Hmm might check out those Manta eye masks. Though I suppose the alternative is just don't sleep on planes and not pick overnight flights, and try to enjoy the IFE.
Thanks for the great video! I can't wait to fly again. At least I got to pretend watching you. I will always look at coat hooks with respect and think of you, my friend!

Hi man! Love the video. This January I’m flying also on the CS A350 from amsterdam to Guangzhou in seat 52A and from there to Melbourne. Do all a350’s have the same layout and is it sure that I have a window on that seat? Love to hear from you
Flew with China Southern economy yesterday from AMS to MNL. Their A350 has some very comfortable seats where my daughter and I could sleep well in. The food from CAN - AMS and AMS to CAN was good, food from MNL to CAN was not the best. The selection of movies is solid, and I enjoyed watching some nice titles that I missed out before. The headphones are not the best, and the volume of the movies may be louder, but that could also be a result of the quality of the headphones. The connection from MNL to AMS is also great, and reduces a quite a few hours traveling to my family in Netherlands (door to door). Also compliments to the staff, I had several phone calls and face to face inquiries and they were handled well and direct to the point. I will book them again.
8:21 gwai lao friendly 😂😂😂. BTW, the plaza premium lounge is the Amex lounge prior COVID, which used to be a good one with barista coffee, they can also divert you to Sky team lounge next door if full.
How do you get window seats? I heard for international flights on China Southern, you cannot book online. Btw when I ask at the desk, they always give me the middle seats.
I was able to select seats online free of charge (got extra legroom at check in) Chinese carriers have terrible sites! Try their apps if you have trouble navigating online :)
Jayden, have you ever been on any flight / airline that travels between two different temperature zones, such as, for example, Australia 🇦🇺 to Hong Kong 🇭🇰. Hong Kong is cold in the winter and Australia is hot due to different climate zones…. And you have to pack two sets of clothings for two different temperature zone……😆😁

Did you get the exit row 52A seat for free with your delta status or did you have to pay for that? I'm maybe flying CZ from FRA to CAN on their A350 soon and would kinda like an exit row for that, ideally for free using my FlyingBlue Gold status
@@m4ster311 nope, my flight is in March. I sent them an email a couple of days ago but haven’t heard back. Might try to give them a call if they don’t answer
dayum you were able to get the tickets when they were so cheap... i had originally planned to go china at the start of sept but got pushed back to later :(
Chinese airlines are cheap when you book about 1-2 months in advance! And always book with a layover. Eg Air China (Beijing based) is cheaper to Shanghai. China Eastern (Shanghai based) is cheaper to Beijing haha
Were you able to walk out through the little space from the left hand of the passenger in front of you? I saw some stuff was there during the middle of the flight.
haha well I’d rather walk past that person (no standing up required) rather than asking the middle and aisle passengers to stand up for me. Easier for everyone
@@JaydenWong see comments quote from the passenger on other website...and it is interesting ! you have a nice passenger in front of you! Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/02/12 for Seat 59B ( Cathay Pacific) While I was glad to have more legroom, i have mixed feelings on this seat. First, i recommend an eyemask; as you're trying to sleep, the light from the ever-opening bathroom door will bother you. Second, you have no window, just the massive exit door you cannot lean on. Also, as others have said, the person in row 60 seat A will think they can get past you on you left, as its their own personal aisle. I tried putting my bag there after take off but they still climbed over me very awkwardly and rudely as i tried to sleep. Not sure this is worth the money for the upgrade.... Submitted by SeatGuru Us
@@sosolau3205 well it's debatable. The seat I was at (second row window) is classed as an exit row seat, same as the first row so technically the extra space do belong to the window person behind IMO. I could also say it's not worth the upgrade if I have to climb over my neighbours when other exit row passengers don't
I think the delay management here in Australia really needs to improve as I experience the same thing but in the worst thing that there's completely no update at all. I flew with QF last year from Sydney to Denpasar via Melbourne and my flight QF 445 supposed to depart at 13.00 but they'll only commence boarding at 14.20 and all passengers left in the gate without any updates about the delay from the ground staff which is very very disappointing. We depart 100 minutes late I ended up running (again) in Melbourne airport to not miss my connecting flight to Denpasar. I wish SYD airport could have train their ground staff about this delay management and like no compensation at all, what tha hell? In Indonesia, if there's a delay the aiport has the rule of giving compensation to passengers, where the airline must compensate you something starting with a bottle of water (for 60 min delay), then snack and water for 120 min, and if it's 3 hours or more, they'll give you a heavy meal or they give you a cashback for a good Rp300.000,- or AU$30.75 approx. (for too long delay), while in Australia there's nothing. Talking about ur flight with CZ, that was actually a really good hard product and the vegetarian meal you pre-order looks amazing as well. A bit shocked when the crew literally locked the lavatory because it is completely dirty, shame on the passengers who's still lack of responsibility. But overall, that's an amazing flight with them and didn't know that they gonna join Oneworld soon. Great trip report, Jayden.
It really does, i flew with korean air from syd to seoul i was at the lounge with my mum. We went to the gate as what it said on the ticket, when we got there they annouce the delay of 45 minutes

8:42 she was short and she was grabbing something from her carryon 🤣 Not many. maybe 10%. The young lady next to me was an Aussie “gweipo” heading to Rome. Only roughly 10 of them actually entered China.
On Chinese airlines not really! Their websites aren’t user/non-Chinese friendly. I requested via emailing their Sydney office. They were really helpful :)
Hello ! I would like to take the same seat than you. Unfortunetly, it seems that you have to speak chinese because of the safety briefing with the crew (emergency exit)... Am I wrong ?
@@JaydenWong That's ok don't worry ! They wrote "passengers with a lack of good chinese can't take those seat" I will not take the risk I guess and will directly ask at the airport. Thank you for your answer anyway ! Take care
This airline has to be the worst.. i booked for premium economy for next January and they sent an email to say that they changed planes and that I have been downgraded to economy and tried to keep the difference in the fare! Unbelievable
gosh, did they downgrade you to an economy flex fare. I heard similar stories on Qantas. If that's the case, try tell them to "downgrade" you to an economy sale fare.
We ended up on an earlier flight at 8:10am which meant that in Guangzhou, we had 4 and half hours layover instead of 2 hours. You could never ring their customer service line in Australia and ended up getting transferred to their China service who didn't speak English. I definitely will not be flying with them again. Really poor service. Hopefully their premium economy will end up okay..@@JaydenWong
I really don’t blame them. It was pure disgust. Floor was flooded with urine, so much so it almost overflowed into the cabin. I wouldn’t want anyone to deal with that. At the end of the day the crew is there for your safety and feed you the meals. Not toilet cleaner, although they can maintain simple cleanliness like wipe down surfaces and keep things neat and dry

I can speak english because i in indonesia class english
Were there many gwai lo's on this flight? Why is someone standing on the seat at 8:42?
8:42 she was short and she was grabbing something from her carryon 🤣
Not many. maybe 10%. The young lady next to me was an Aussie “gweipo” heading to Rome. Only roughly 10 of them actually entered China.
Guai low Friendly🤣😂 Have not heard that Cantonese word for long time .😆
😂😂😂
omg that aerial view of parra
about mandarin.. ye i learned it for 9 yrs at school and still trash at it.. my canto's kinda average too hah
haha at least you can say you sort of speak it🤣🤣
That side is nicer
Great video! Was it easy to order the vegan meal?
On Chinese airlines not really! Their websites aren’t user/non-Chinese friendly. I requested via emailing their Sydney office. They were really helpful :)
@@JaydenWong thank you for the tip! I’ll need to do the same :)
Interesting that staff was apparently not very hospitable. The bathroom situation was pretty bad.
Thanks for watching Patricia, they ticked all the boxes, did all the right thing but yes not doing anything beyond that
I don't know what accent you have, but it is nice
haha thank you!!
okay, bye the way, the videos are amazing!@@JaydenWong
I hate when airlines keep the big stub of the boarding pass. There’s no reason for them to keep it.
haha ikr! Chinese airlines still do that a lot, at BKK too almost always no matter which airline
Do you have to wear a mask on the plane?
not anymore on Chinese airlines :)
Hello ! I would like to take the same seat than you. Unfortunetly, it seems that you have to speak chinese because of the safety briefing with the crew (emergency exit)... Am I wrong ?
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. As long as you understand English it’s fine.
@@JaydenWong That's ok don't worry ! They wrote "passengers with a lack of good chinese can't take those seat" I will not take the risk I guess and will directly ask at the airport. Thank you for your answer anyway ! Take care
hello may i know where did u book it? thru there app or from other third party app like agoda and etc
You’ll want to avoid their last rows as they don’t recline… don’t ask me how I found out…
🥵🥵🥵
Great experience
Hey mate quick question can you pay for lounge access to enter or do you have to be a frequent flyer
for plaza premium you can :) walk-in or pre-pay online
@@JaydenWong thanks mate
Wait did you have a tray table if there’s no seat in front 😂
yep it’s hiding in the armrest haha
Hopefully their premium economy will end up okay..@@JaydenWong
juice shortage🤣that is going to be my excuse next time i drink straight vodka on the rocks
😂😂😂
Great ,China southern is fantastic
Thank you!!
You mentioned the lav go so dirty they couldn't clean it?! Might you be able to elaborate?😮☺️
Seems unusual/unfortunate to take one totally out of use on a long haul
like human waste outside of the toilet bowl 😰
@@JaydenWong ah I see, thanks for clarifying
3:08 B-308T arrived in Sydney as CZ____
Pretty poor that the crew closed down that toilet rather than clean it given that it was a very full flight.
@@JaydenWongsome people cant aim properly
@@Aviation-unoinstall aimbot then
how's the flight? soon i will take china southern
i liked it, not luxury or premium but very good value
ok thanks @@JaydenWong
