Why does everyone always complain about the dishes not being traditional? It is about those lovely guys making dishes "Sorted", so their way. I think they do a splended job whatever dish they make
As a European that spent over a decade in the Middle East, it's awesome to see more middle eastern dishes! Hopefully there will be recipes for Baba Ganoush, Fatoush, Hummus, Shawarma, Umm Ali and more in the future!
I like how you used the dukkah to crust the chicken, I never would have thought to use it that way. The tabbouleh would typically have a little bit more parsley (or a little less bulgur wheat) but the dish honestly looks delicious! I would love if Sorted continued to make more Lebanese/Middle Eastern dishes. There are so many great ones that the world needs to know about! :)
Looks lovely... Im arabic and the only way i eat duqa is to sprinkle it over my cheese sandwiches really or dip in in evoo BUT those chicken breats look YUMMMMMMM ....However i have to say the tabbule needs more herbs i recon like a 2 to 1 ratio would be more salad like.... AND you missed a crucial part of a tabbule which is diced onions! It really makes a difference.... Thank you so much totally trying the chicken!!
Im Lebanese. I recently discovered your channel and I fell in love and i accidentally came to watch this. Tabouleh , in fact, is a very huge amount of parsley and a very tiny amount of seeds with tomatoes fresh onions lemon olive oil and some salt. Just an information🤗 and your recipes are solid👌👌😍😍😍 keep on doing some battles
2 bouquet of parsley,1 bouquet of frech mint,2 ripes tomato, one small onion, chop them all in small or medium chunks ,1/4 cup of fine bourghul ,salt,1/4 cup of lemon juce and and 1/4 cup of nice good olive oil .that is a fine lebanese taboule my friend .from lebanon with love.
Been a long time fan! love this recipe so much :) you guys have inspired to get up and start up my own channel to hopefully share some of my own recipes :)
You guys are so great! I had completely forgotten about the summak on the tabouleh! But I do think the ratio of herbs should be more than 1 at least that's how we do it in Lebanon! Either way great recipe, love the sorted team! ❤️❤️
awesome! I've been meaning to find a way to use up that bottle of caraway seeds and sumac in my spice drawer. And the best part about this, no breadcrumbs required!
Dukkah! I'm Egyptian and it took me a while to realize you guys were talking about *Do-ah* (pronounced in Egyptian Arabic just as you see it here :D) Great recipe and good for you incorporating new flavors such as this. A job awesomely done.
I'm binge watching over 40 food videos, they are by: - SORTEDfood - Jamie Oliver - The Vegan Corner (I'm not vegan) But because I'm 12 I'm probably not gonna make any of these 😂😂
We have some pretty smashing stews though! I feel our 'cuisine' is much like the Irish kitchen, but maybe with less cabbages ;) So not very spectacular, but plain good and hearty meals!
If you don't have pomegranate molasses, could you use regular molasses and pomegranate seeds? or is there anything else you could replace the molasses with?
Loved seeing you cook some of the food that I eat weekly ❤️😻😻😻 But I have to say that tabbouleh is a salad so you should've adedd more vegetables to it and less burghul 😁
omg pomegranate molasses are also wonnnnderful on spicy vine leaves. they are my favourite thing ever. sweet and spicy and sour and everything i could ever want from a dish
omg that sounds amazing, I'm going to try the chicken next time I make tabbouleh, and yes somaq is amazing but its even better used in BBQ's ( sprinkled over minced meat)
Would love it if you could do a "Beginners guide to cooking" for people who've never cooked a day in their life. Moving out for uni so that would help a lot 😊
I tried this today and it was delicious! :) Also, I've been looking for the hilarious SortedFood music videos (uptown dunk & milkshake) and they don't seem to be up any longer. Does anyone know why they took them down? :(
Hey guys, can you try healthy, vegetarian, low purine low cholesterol recipes? Maybe a mini series of healthy foods. Im really struggling to find those online now especially since im now high risk of gout and other problems. would appreciate if you guys do some :) greetings from Malaysia
I'm amazed to see dooqah debuted here but lets get real, we've seen enough interpretations of Taboulah, and anything Sumac. I would really love to see the Sorted version of Maqloubah, Qedrah and Maftoul. Palestinian cuisine is one you should definitely look into. Much love ..
Usually the tablouleh has a lot less 'bourgul'/wheat. Its supposed to be an addition to the salad, not a main component. And to take it to another level add a dash of cinnamon. It sounds weird but its amazing with the lemon and olive oil :)
I'm lebanese, thats not the original tabbouleh, the ratios are not right, most of the dish must be green and green onions must be added, however, u guys made such a great job trying different caltural dishes, keep it up, love your channel.
Wow! This looks GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS! Super healthy too: - all those lovely spices and herbs - healthy protein from the chicken and yoghurt - healthy carbs from the unprocessed wheat and yoghurt - and healthy fats from the olive oil and a bit from the chicken (though chicken fat is much healthier if the chicken is organic) :D A great recipe all around!
for those who'd like to know, there are three main categories of nutrients (a.k.a. macronutrients) and they are carbohydrates, protein, and fat. All are necessary and they work best when consumed together. The goal is to have a nice balance of all three each time you eat. Of course within reach category there are healthy and unhealthy options. (Potato chips = unhealthy carb. Carrots = healthy carb. Corn oil = unhealthy fat. Coconut oil = healthy fat. Hotdog = unhealthy protein. Unprocessed chicken = healthy protein.) Vitamins and minerals are micronutrients and are present in healthy, whole, unprocessed foods. :) #healthgeek ;)
I would be so so so grateful if you guys could do a recipe for allium free vegetable stock. I'm allergic to them and so can't use stock cubes. I've managed to get homemade chicken stock down because the bones do a lot of the flavour work, but can never get vegetable stock to taste right. I know it's a tall order, but if anyone can do it, Ben can! You would make SO many more dishes available to me.
Hey guys, I was just wondering if there is any chance you could do some gluten free food? I'm coeliac so I often have to pass lots of your recipes or attempt to adapt them (badly haha), so it would be really great if you gave it a try. It's definitely a challenge! xxxx
Podrían por favor poner subtítulos en español ? Se los agradecería infinitamente me encanta su canal en realidad son muy profesionales pero lamentablemente no entiendo aveces algunas cosas Saludos!!!!🤓
hey Mike, I'd love to hear more jingles... hint, hint! I just finished a couple days ago hunting down the first fridgecam that you did a COTW jingle, but of course, now I've forgotten. good excuse to watch more fridgecams!!! lol!
I've found that brining chicken, pork and other low fat content pieces of meat can make it juicier and it's easier to cook with, maybe a video on how to brine, I believe most people don't know this technique yet!
I've been learning French for 3 years and instead of teaching us decent vocabulary that we could actually use in France, I remember that one of the first words we learnt was taboulé 😂
Very authentic. Actually done properly, unlike even some TV chefs that butcher the recipe and then pretend it's nice.
well, this IS SORTED so ;))
didn't they forgot to add onions to tabbouleh ??!!
i prefer onions with tabbouleh but i think with/without is still traditional
Same here. My family also likes to put in cucumber. :D
Ben's little giggle gives me life.
Why does everyone always complain about the dishes not being traditional? It is about those lovely guys making dishes "Sorted", so their way. I think they do a splended job whatever dish they make
Exactly, making it your own style imo is what makes receipes unique, otherwise everything just will be boring & the same
"Traditional" is nonsens anyway, since there are usually thousands of variants to any "traditional" way.
As a European that spent over a decade in the Middle East, it's awesome to see more middle eastern dishes! Hopefully there will be recipes for Baba Ganoush, Fatoush, Hummus, Shawarma, Umm Ali and more in the future!
There are already hummus recipes already i believe
Andreas Hetland Haavik Oh? I must have missed that one.
Umm ali yeeesssss i love it
salad olivieh!!!
Same! I spent 13 years in Qatar. Middle Eastern food is incredible and I'm very sad I can't find anything good where I live in the UK.
I like how you used the dukkah to crust the chicken, I never would have thought to use it that way. The tabbouleh would typically have a little bit more parsley (or a little less bulgur wheat) but the dish honestly looks delicious! I HIGHLY VOTE FOR ANY MORE MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD! You guys did a great job in this tabbolueh!
As a Lebanese person, it makes me very happy to see SORTED cooking a traditional Lebanese dish. Loved it :)
1:28 That eye to the camera after the phrase 'to pound' was not unnoticed. Thank you, Mike.
Happy to see middle eastern dishes in Sorted! Make more of these vids, its nice to see variety of dishes/sweets from different countries :)
Ben's laugh at 3:32 was so precious omg
Thank you, mike. Job well done.
I watched Ferris Bueller´s Day Off for the first time yesterday and I must say, Cameron and Mike are the same person. Cannot unsee.
Thanks to Keith from Buzzfeed I can't stop singing "Salad and gouda, Chicken Tabbouleh, bippidy boppidy boo."
I just love how the other guys just give a slight smirk and make eye contact with the camera when Ben says something that can be misinterpreted!
I could listen to Ben saying 'sesame' for the rest of my life. Never change Ben.
Im Lebanese. I recently discovered your channel and I fell in love and i accidentally came to watch this. Just wanted to say that I'm from Oklahoma but I'm currently in England! I love you guys and I'm having an amazing time here!
I think Sorted guys should do Stuffed Vine leaves!!!!
ورق عنب
Also known as sarma or dolma
+Helen Ak sarma is stuffed cabbage leaves
It's can be both cabbage or vine leaf in Bulgaria, both bundles are called sarma :)
Also in Egypt but different names
2 bouquet of parsley,1 bouquet of frech mint,2 ripes tomato, one small onion, chop them all in small or medium chunks ,1/4 cup of fine bourghul ,salt,1/4 cup of lemon juce and and 1/4 cup of nice good olive oil .that is a fine lebanese taboule my friend .from lebanon with love.
I wonder what would happen if Ben could make quiche in a silicone mold shaped like a sprig of mint..
lol! that would be amazing, everything Benish, all rolled into one!
The stars would align and then the universe would explode. But it would taste delicious. 😋
Quiche with some sort of mushroom in it too.
Add a red shorts somewhere in the mix too!
Ewewid It's not needed, he would be wearing them anyways :DD
3:32 --> my heart exploded with that laugh
Looks amazing, this will be tonight's dinner I'll also make some red pepper hummus on a side ,
So hungry already :)
Been a long time fan! love this recipe so much :) you guys have inspired to get up and start up my own channel to hopefully share some of my own recipes :)

Its so nice seeing British people and others be interested in middle eastern food since im Syrian tho :3
omg what even is bens laugh at 3:31
it's adorable
i literally LOVE james. i have no idea why, but there's something to his brevity that makes me laugh so hard. :)
This combination is so delicious! And the food looks great too 😂 but in all seriousness I know what I'm making tomorrow night for dinner now. Yum!
That looks incredible!
Mike's smile when Ben said "to pound" made me lol.
Dukkah!
I'm Egyptian and it took me a while to realize you guys were talking about *Do-ah* (pronounced in Egyptian Arabic just as you see it here :D)
Great recipe and good for you incorporating new flavors such as this. A job awesomely done.
I miss Big Night In, but anyways, great recipe!
I may or may not have binge watched all 25 videos over the weekend, as well as some at the table videos. May or may not:)

I ADORE tabbouleh. This is why you guys rock.
You should try some Dutch recipes! Our cuisine isn't very remarkable but we have some great pastries!😁
100% agree there, I want to see Stroopwafels!
We have some pretty smashing stews though! I feel our 'cuisine' is much like the Irish kitchen, but maybe with less cabbages ;) So not very spectacular, but plain good and hearty meals!
+Renn Sure! But what about bokkenpootjes or gevulde koeken or a wonderful vlaai!
+TheGalacticGrizzly Thats true! I like our dishes, but I don't think they are that interesting 😅
I want you to make a series of tea time recipes and say sortead at the end. I regret nothing.
If you don't have pomegranate molasses, could you use regular molasses and pomegranate seeds? or is there anything else you could replace the molasses with?
3:31 that giggle though!!
Can you substitute the wheat for quinoa? And would it still be the same method?
Is there a reason you chose veg stock for the tabbouleh? Or is that just a preference?
Great Combination of flavors! Excellent!
How will the chicken be reheated in the microwave? Will it still be crispy?
Loved seeing you cook some of the food that I eat weekly ❤️😻😻😻 But I have to say that tabbouleh is a salad so you should've adedd more vegetables to it and less burghul 😁

Mike, tell us how does one gag for the crust on the chicken ?
You should make a Ben & Barry's Ice Cream.
tabbouleh or couscous with pomegranate seeds is so good
Can we use other stock instead of vegetable stock??
Would love it if you could do a "Beginners guide to cooking" for people who've never cooked a day in their life. Moving out for uni so that would help a lot 😊
Your pronunciations are hilarious! But great recipe. I'd love to see more middle eastern recipes!! ☺️👍🏼
FINALLY YOU MAKE SOMETHING WITH AN EGYPTIAN ELEMENT!
Sorry, its just that I've suggested Egyptian recipes loads and no one ever considered it :')
I tried this today and it was delicious! :)
Also, I've been looking for the hilarious SortedFood music videos (uptown dunk & milkshake) and they don't seem to be up any longer. Does anyone know why they took them down? :(
I know! so sad :(
Presumably copyright issues
The ratio should be 1:2 for the herbs or maybe even 1:3
I totally agree. I don't think it should be 1:1
+Rsha S at first I was optimistic until they mixed rice with the greens , there was so little green in there it should all be green
yeah, you should barely see the bulgur
As soon as I saw the thumbnail picture, I thought "oh no...they didn't use enough herbs," just from the color.
Never 1:1. A good Tabouleh always has more herbs
Hey guys, can you try healthy, vegetarian, low purine low cholesterol recipes? Maybe a mini series of healthy foods. Im really struggling to find those online now especially since im now high risk of gout and other problems. would appreciate if you guys do some :) greetings from Malaysia
I'm struggling to find vegan "comfort food" any suggestions ? 😊 love your channel !!!
James doesn't even have to talk and still takes my full attention.
why did you delete the zayn pillowatalk parody im looking for it everywhere!!
Mike actually got the timing right on "sorted" today...
That chicken looks so tender!
Red onion is also a fantastic addition to tabbouleh.

Until my voice have been heard, i'm gonna keep saying.. PLEASE MAKE SOME TRADICIONAL NORWEGIAN FOOD 👍
Nobody likes cod in eggsauce or klippefisk.
Then they won't make that
I'm from India, and I have no idea what Norwegian food is all about, but I'd like to see it here all the same!
Haha enig. Hadde vært lættis å se dem lage noe med brunost
Hahahahah, oh pliz nei. Brunost er ikke noe for meg XD
I can watch your videos only while I'm eating. Otherwise I'll get all kinds of cravings. Usually for things I don't have at home. :D
I'm lebanese, thats not the original tabbouleh, the ratios are not right, most of the dish must be green and green onions must be added, however, u guys made such a great job trying different caltural dishes, keep it up, love your channel.
Can you show us your take on another crusted food? Maybe the Spanish milanesa or cachopo?
3:27 Ben: to get the freshness. Me: TWISTY NIPPLE FRESHNESS!!!!!! Anyone know what I'm on about?
the dipping frenchfries in dukkah suggestion looked like it actually hurt Bens soul 😂
Could you maybe cook up a recipe with seitan (a fake meat) that will taste and look as good as this recipe does?
i love the way ben and other english people say yogurt
for the tabouleh you need lots of parsley... and what about making shawirma??
Sending you guys kisses and huggies from Cairo, Egypt! xoxo
Tabouleh is the greatest ever.
Mike's face when Ben said "pounding" :-)
Wow! This looks GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS!
Super healthy too:
- all those lovely spices and herbs
- healthy protein from the chicken and yoghurt
- healthy carbs from the unprocessed wheat and yoghurt
- and healthy fats from the olive oil and a bit from the chicken (though chicken fat is much healthier if the chicken is organic)

Do you know that nuts contain quite a lot of fats, healthy fats? ;) #"helthgeek"
Dreamseller
Haha, yes absolutely! ;)
Dreamseller
And I guess there's healthy fat in the yoghurt too (though moreso if its organic) :D
I would be so so so grateful if you guys could do a recipe for allium free vegetable stock. I'm allergic to them and so can't use stock cubes. Where can I find pomegranate molasses! Neeeed to make this
it was love at first sight for me and this recipe
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if there is any chance you could do some gluten free food? I'm coeliac so I often have to pass lots of your recipes or attempt to adapt them (badly haha), so it would be really great if you gave it a try. It's definitely a challenge! xxxx
I knew about Tabbouleh and Suma' when I watched Mark Wiens' Jordanian food trip videos recently.
yayyyy!!! I'm Lebanese and I can say that you guys did a great job :)
I looove tabbouleh!!
Is it weird I'm making tabbouleh for tea tonight. Decided before for this video, but having falafel with it.
Wow looks amazing got to try this 😍
Podrían por favor poner subtítulos en español ? Se los agradecería infinitamente me encanta su canal en realidad son muy profesionales pero lamentablemente no entiendo aveces algunas cosas Saludos!!!!🤓
this looks absolutely delicious
In an alternate universe (or maybe even this one) Ben and Mike would make a great couple!
Can you cook some Egyptian food 😍😍?? Koshary, molokhyia, kofta..
LOOKS SO GOOD
Try some more middle eastern dishes!! Grapeleaves, meatpies, kibbee, shawarma!!
What else could you brush it with rather than egg? I can't eat egg :(
hey Mike, I'd love to hear more jingles... hint, hint! I just finished a couple days ago hunting down the first fridgecam that you did a COTW jingle, but of course, now I've forgotten. good excuse to watch more fridgecams!!! lol!
As a Middle Easterner, I highly approve 😍
loved this recipe
Good recipe for tabouleh from a middle eastern person
I've found that brining chicken, pork and other low fat content pieces of meat can make it juicier and it's easier to cook with, maybe a video on how to brine, I believe most people don't know this technique yet!
mike's comments make the cooking videos turn into a comedy
Everytime mike's in a video i always get so excited.. 😫
