Hey Grant, ya get a chance watch Cole`s video he just posted, he ends up plugging one row on his corn head. He explains how the gathering chains have a slip clutch, and when they plug the tear stuff up. If I remember Chet and the Big Swede had a video, where they flipped the plates over so they wear evenly. Just remembered that, I guess it's like everything, the stalks keep pounding in and the stalks wear those plates out. If they've never been flipped, or if they have, it might be time to replace. You'll see the wear only on one side, then ya flip them over to the other side to keep everything wearing evenly. Awesome job this year, excited to hear some figures, and what next year will bring for your Rick K EMTP Rescue. God Bless and stay safe!
Grant, you’ll have to do an end of harvest video showing what brands and hybrids did as far as yield for corn and beans and what your plans are for the revenue they generated, newer tractor, more tillage equipment, grain cart, etc.. love the vids!!
"Maybe I can drive on some of the government's grass, because they drive on some of mine, maybe we can work something out?" Such youthful optimism for working with the government, love it. Somewhat related, get those springs tiled, before someone tells you you can't.
This channel is brilliant, thanks for posting all these videos, congratulations on your first harvest season, can't wait to see what you do next season 👍👏👏👍
Hey Grant little tip for you. When you are trying to move wagon by hand roll the tire it will be little bit easier to move then trying to drag it forward. Grab each side of tire by tread and roll forward or backwards. I do this with vehicles at work doing alignments.
Grant, did you see my last post? Look under your left outside cone on the bottom, your heads slipping because of the plug on the bottom, it's made to slip some but you have to watch that! That's why the one side keeps plugging up, I believe they're offset, so if it slips and they start smashing into each other you’ll have real problems! You can see the plug on the very end of this video, you see the two wagons, the tractor and combine with the auger out. Look at that bottom on the outside of the corn head. That's why it's plugging up over and over, I'm betting the chains stretched out also, but the gathering chain should be offset, that's why I'm worried, you'll wear out bearings, chains, and metal to metal will start fires! Thanks & God Bless, and get that fixed before next fall, so you don't forget.
Whenever taking the pass with the combine at the end of harvest has always been bittersweet for me. On one hand your glad to have the crops all in the bins, but sad that harvest was over, because while I enjoy doing everything from tillage to planting, being in the combine has always been my favorite thing to do. Growing up farming and farming all my life, only 1 yr was a glad to be done with harvest. I forget what yr it was, but we had a wet fall, and while we had everything done, a neighbor friend's combine caught on fire, so I ended up doing a couple hundred acres of his corn for him, and I was still shelling corn on New Years Eve that yr, and it was snowing and sleeting, trying to finish him up, and I had to stop and clean the sieves out about every hundred yards, trying to finish up his corn. That yr I was glad to finally be done with harvest, that whole fall was a pain due to how wet it was.
Hey grant your plugging on the side of your corn head I have a solution to, do a little research but what we have on our combine is bassicly an auger that spins towards the middle of the head on the sides where your divider is and it has stopped the plugging that happened in your video this year was the first year and we love it
Grant, If you use Tyre Valve metal caps on all your valve stems this stops dirt etc from clogging your vales. On the ends of the caps are slots that allow you to screw the valves when required. No need for small screw drivers.
Grant can you please do a video showing. how much it cost to plant ect. how much money you got from selling the corn and how much you profited. it would be very interesting to know how much a small farmer makes
Those lines in the road are from an old concrete road under the asphalt. The concrete splits in half again and again until the cracks are close enough together, that is why they are equal distances apart. My brother works for DOT and we have a couple places like that where I live too.
Congratulations, Grant! It's been a fun season (for the most part!) I certainly can't imagine that the down corn would be something you'll deal with most years. About your test plot idea: I really like it! I think that'd be great. I'd suggest trying to get some free inputs (Especially seed, but also some fertilizer products as well) from different companies in exchange for your data. I know in my area that many seed companies and Ag retailers are willing to give free products for your unbiased yield data.
Congrats on a good harvest ! Way to stick w it !! Farm 🚜 on !!! Make farming great again ! And don't forget to keep a first aid kid w u in the combine and a tool box !
On highway. Those are expansion joints. They didn’t start out as such. The freeze/thaw causes those cracks. So they ground, fill them with tar mix that can flex with it. It’s VERY important to be done before winter. If not water fills void, expands as it freezes, breaks larger chunks.
If Spencer could monetise that service, (lubing other people's balls), by developing an app , he'd be buying his own farm next year!!!! Greetings from Ireland! 🇮🇪

Grant you need a rock bucket on the front of the tractor so that way you can have it for rocks if you find any, or put deer corn in it, or you can just use it to put extra stuff that you need that won't fit in the cab
Hey Grant, as a new farmer I would recommend that you WRITE DOWN everything you do. Then you can reference your notes each year and see if what you did differently and weather or not it improved your yield.
Yes you will appreciate your farm journals. Keep tile records, maps, maintenance and weather. My grandpa even wrote down super meal. His last entry was creamed chicken over biscuit's! I hate the stuff.... Grandma read that months later after grandpa had passed she cried and laughed as she shared he never complained about what I made. I never new. They were married 52 years ❤️
Yes agree. Worked for a farmer he carried a notepad and had field info going back many years ti compare yields, crop, etc etc. Records are good to go back on to compare year to year to keep track how your doing or what can be done differently
Love watching ur videos and seeing u live out ur dream. I think 1 thing u really need to invest in is a truck to haul quicker. Congrats on 2021 accomplishments.
Very fun watching you this season, been a cool adventure, I highly recommend you get a grain truck or semi, you need one with as many acers and yields you have, would help you a lot and save u tons of time
Grant, when that day comes years in the future when you have millions of subs and a massive farm, remember this first harvest and what started it all. I will always remember this, years in the future you should make a vid remembering those who supported you through these starting times!! Lol
Just some info that might be helpful Milwaukie makes an air compressor that runs off a drill battery. It's super light and really nice quality definitely worth the money 💰
My family's generators (we have 2 small ones), lawnmower and rototillers start first time and the only one with a Honda engine is the one rototiller but the smaller generator is a possibility
Keep up the outstanding work as always! Did that girl ever respond to your text? Well hope you enjoyed the year, while it lasted! For the series can you use a johndeere 8970? YEEYEE and have a good one!
I have similar bumps on my street but some of them are more like potholes lol, makes my ABS lock up on my 2nd gen right before I pull in my driveway and occasionally... I miss the damn driveway 🤣🤣
I love your videos great job you are my favorite youtuber and I have your real life farm in farm simulator 19 and am copying everything you do day by day and I even have the shed and all the same vehicles keep up the great work
They make a tool called a valve stem wrench that is made to tighten and loosen the valve stems in the tire. I’m sure you could find one in a local Napa or something for a couple of dollars
Hi Grant! A good friend of mine from my hometown of Plattsmouth Nebraska, Christopher Mendes, just passed away from a traumatic brain injury last week. If you could just keep his family in your prayers, I would really appreciate it! On a lighter note, I have some "preference" questions for you... Ford, GM, or Ram? John Deere, Case IH or New Holland? Congratulations on finishing your harvest. Can't wait to see what is to come. Thanks for sharing your content Grant.
Farmers around my area have made tow bars for the front of their trucks to pull behind their machinery

Great job guys. No big brake downs. Time to wash the combine and put it away. Hopefully u made some profit to purchase some more equipment.
"Holy deleto" gets me every time 😂 loving the videos man keep up the awesome work!
Hey Grant you can go but a valve stem tool to tighten those or take them put if you have to replace the valve stem
It sure has been fun watching you this season!
Glad you got done with harvest and on to tillage we’re on our last week of bean harvest we got 556 acres left. Great video

Good job Grant ! Enjoy watching your adventures.
Thanks Clarke!
Why would you change those tires out? Plenty of tread on the outside ones. The outside ones just are as important as the inside ones are for traction
keep up the good work, i cant wait for the cycle to start over again.

Congratulations young farmer. So happy for your success in living your dreams!
So cool I wish you the best for the for the rest of this season and keep it up.
finished your first year of many, congrats grant
Whenever it's pleasant or dear I always have the shootgun in the combine
Pheasant
Great job on a great successful harvest I would say
Yes love the cold starts
@GrantHilbert you are a legend keep up the great work bro so good to see a young farmer at work
Get a gas air compressor for the back of your truck works good for cleaning air filters in the field
Love watching ur videos and seeing u live out ur dream. I think 1 thing u really need to invest in is a truck to haul quicker. Congrats on 2021 accomplishments.
You need 1 cap on each vehicle with a cap that has a air release fitting to tightening. I always have one on each vehicle. A hand down from my dad.
Do you oil your auger chain it’s good for the chain and there are a few other chains that should be oiled once ever 3 to 6 days
Your farm is the best I especially like your 8110
Bud you did good for first year ! God bless.
Congratulations. You should be proud of yourself
You learnt a lot this year. But next year will be better!
If ur steering wheel shaking wen u hit a bump in your truck replace the steering stabilizer shock on front end
Grant, u need a valve core tool. It also removes and tightens them down
We are proud of what you’ve done Grant/Spenser and family.
Congrats on the end now work the corn to corn.. Nice a farmer from IA not having a disaster happen every video....
we tried some graved wagons this year because we have cattle so we put in a bin it helped is transpiration.
Congratulations! Love watching your videos..
Going on my first pheasant hunt over here in Jersey next weekend. So stoked. Loved the video man. As always, looking forward to the next one!
Very fun watching you this season, been a cool adventure, I highly recommend you get a grain truck or semi, you need one with as many acers and yields you have, would help you a lot and save u tons of time

Just some info that might be helpful Milwaukie makes an air compressor that runs off a drill battery. It's super light and really nice quality definitely worth the money 💰
We just finished up all our corn and beans Friday here in west ky
Those "springs" are likely tile blowouts. You can splice them easily with a mini excavator and the correct size tile fitting
Congratulation on finishing your first harvest. I enjoy watching your videos.
Thanks John!
My family's generators (we have 2 small ones), lawnmower and rototillers start first time and the only one with a Honda engine is the one rototiller but the smaller generator is a possibility
Need to work them arms so you can Push the Wagon farther! 🤣 Great Vid Grant!
Brought it back Grant! c: 2:26 I love that joke or whatever you would like to call it.
Nice easy fix on the combine tire. Get a valve stem tool for the next time
Congrats on a successful harvest.
Be careful blowing air through a filter, you poke a hole in it your asking for trouble....love the videos
Hello from Saskatchewan,, Canada great videos thanks for sharing
I’m sad it is over but I’m excited for the tillage vids
Starting out farming from scratch is an impressive feat - no tools, equipment and in your case know;edge. We’ll done and keep it up!
Yes handsome farmers, I do mishu guys! Good job tho, keep on keeping on!!! Feed the World Baybeh. TY and God bless
Awsome grant looks like you had a good season good job

Conrats man! just getting started with corn here in Ohio. Cant wait for the recap and cant wait to see how you do!!
I have similar bumps on my street but some of them are more like potholes lol, makes my ABS lock up on my 2nd gen right before I pull in my driveway and occasionally... I miss the damn driveway 🤣🤣
This winter You should sell the gravity wagons and buy a grain truck 😀
And you might break even with it depending on what you get.
Get some tireject for ur leaking tires it seems to work great
Yes grant i did miss you😄
Nice job young man. Could you tune the 8110 for a little more power?
I could, but in the future I plan on buying a bigger tractor. 2 tractors would be perfect if I keep buying land👍
Feels good gets your heart pumping 👍
You are my favorite RUclipsr the the videos
pretty sure the valve stem cap, you take it off turn it around. an is the exact tool you were looking for.
Yup, day after this vid, i was messinf around with stem cap and realized that the “tool” is on the back of the cap lol
We’re just getting started on corn. Pretty much just in time for my birthday!

You should get auto steer it helps. Also if your averaging 246 your doing better then someone with brand new 45 foot header and case combine
Really lurking this Chanel keep it up Dude
That's awesome I love the John deere equipment nothing but the best!!
Put caps on your valve stems. They have a rubber gasket on them to stop leaks in a pinch.
Put a valve core tool on one of the tire stems. There when u need it.

Stuck? I would say buried, :)
And the bushels per acre is? Plan on crop rotation for soil health.
You should buy a triple axle grain truck next year so you don't wreck your new tires on your tractor
