I love your videos because the way you guys talk to each other and about FSD and your experience. Really enjoyable and your interaction with each other is really wholesome.
Tesla's recommendation of 40% over FSD speed over-run is for drivers on the East and West Coasts of America. Those people are batsh!t crazy drivers. Sane people living in other areas should be using a setting in the 15-25% range, partly depending on where you live. You can always use the scroll wheel to bump it up in special circumstances.
Interesting, I see that stop sign everyday and I don't think have ever noticed it says that. Honestly makes sense to just say that, rather than 4-way, 5-way, etc.
Hi from Europe (The Netherlands), Love your vids about fsd. Just ordered my first Tesla, can't wait for delivery and after that can't wait till fsd becomes available here. Like you guys said in the video; the dynamic of two people in the car, discussing fsd's performance makes it more interesting than with just one driver, tho those are still interesting as well. About roundabouts: Yes, we have a lot of them here, but I'm still very glad the model 3 I ordered will come with no stalks, love the clean look it gives. I'm already practicing fake-pressing the non-existant buttons on the wheel of my ICE car, to get a feel for where they might be on roundabouts and similar situations. :) About speeding: most people here do it as well but yes, you can/will get fined for going more than 3-5km/h over the limit. Most drivers just risk it and only 'behave' on roads where there are multiple camera's along the way that not only measure your speed when you pass the camera, but also track your license plate over a stretch of highway to calculate your average speed (and send you a ticket if it's too high). Anyway, great content, looking forward to more.
Hey! First off - congrats on the new vehicle, you're going to love it. Think you'll use FSD much? That's smart to practice using the turn signal on the wheel - lol... Once you get used to it, it's really not bad at all. Crazy that you consider 3-5km/h over speeding.. As we mentioned in the video, I think you'd get pit maneuvered if you drove only 3 KM/H over the speed limit... Very impatient people here. Thanks for the comment, glad you're enjoying the content!
@@CanadaFSD I'd love to use FSD but won't be able to right away as it's not legal yet here in Europe, and therefore disabled. I believe Tesla aims to iron out the legal stuff sometime this year but ofcourse that remains to be seen. And frankly, my bank account does not mind some breathing room between the purchase of the car itself and the extra couple of thousand for FSD. :)
Just to clarify... FSD does not struggle with gravel or dirt roads (just watch Dirty Tesla 😎) but with being off the edge of the visible path/road. You'll crack 1K subs soon!
Great video as always. V13 handles roundabouts way better than V12. It even signals when exiting the RB which is the law in Utah. Unfortunately roundabouts are very new here and they are too small. So some drivers think they are going straight on the road and ignore the RB. Some people get very aggressive and charge the RB at full speed and never look if there's a car to their left in the RB.
Love the video (as always). Love the screen format. I wouldn't worry about dynamic content. I can't speak for current Tesla owners, but for us future owners, the various scenarios and behaviors are worth the watch alone. It's still mostly a rundown of what will it do here, there, with this, with that. Especially moving objects. Stationary objects are fairly predictable, yet not a bore. Moving objects will forever be a wild card, and we'll want to see how FSD reacts. Lastly, the personalities (in this case, of course you and your wife) become the final but very important part of it. Even more a unique dynamic when you have a perspective and she has some that are a like, while some are different. Well wait...this is last. I think the FSD adoption/usage rate is a single digit percent. You can find more Tesla owners that don't touch it as opposed to ones that do. This education is still early and needed.
A common thread I've been seeing lately in FSD videos is how bad Tesla's map and navigation systems are. I hope they make a big move soon to make major improvements.
Yes the maps/nav data is for sure the 'worst' part of FSD right now. The speed control and bad navigation are the cause of 90%+ of my disengagements. Really hoping they can fix some of these issues soon.
I really hope I get it soon. Once there's a new FSD version it's very uninspiring to make content with the "older" version since it (understandably) doesn't perform as well on here.
Would be kinda funny if they put a stock there AND the buttons and you can unclip the stock and just take it out. Like the rearview mirror on the Cybertruck. I mean, those people who don't want the stock can just remove it and the rest have both options. :) Btw: Old Mercedes cars have a steering wheel inside the steering wheel, which you need to turn in the direction you like the indicator to come on. That's the weirdest feeling to drive one of these as you can't really pull on it like the real steering wheel (especially as you don't wanna break it), and you can't operate it without really grabbing it. That's so much worse than simple buttons on the steering wheel ;D
Just had it do that to me turning into our private road for our office building. A car was waiting to pull out onto the road, and the car just stopped, even though it could have turned and gone past the car, and then sat there after it went, so I had to hit the gas to get it to move forward! Other than that, right at the end of the morning commute, didn't touch the steering wheel, gas, or brake the entire drive.
@@FSD_PNW Pretty incredible how good it is! The fact that the “big” issue from this drive was one minor thing, it’s really incredible how good FSD has gotten.
@CanadaFSD hey, I just got my RUclips channel set up and now I'm looking for some advice on a good editor to use to prep the videos before uploading them. What are you using?

15:35 well, nah in Europe people speed, but everyone knows that it's wrong. If you get caught, the fines are significant, and you can lose your driver license quite quickly. The fines and the driving styles do differ country per country. In Germany, it's normal to go like 10 km/h over in a 50 km/h zone, but in a Tesla the speedo is much more accurate (Tesla rounds up and adds 1 km/h markup) so that shows up as 2-5 km/h over if you follow other cars. Between 3 and 5 km/h over is when they start giving you a ticket (for 50 km/h). People do however speed on the Autobahn much more. Especially in construction zones, people drive commonly waaay too fast. Say 80 or even 90 in 60 km/h zones. So police started to put up cameras in those zones to reduce that. And you won't ever be pulled over for driving 10 km/h too fast anyway, except if you do something else wrong. But there are many mobile and stationary speed cameras, which are sometimes well hidden in trailers or parked cars. So that's what will get you if you drive a bit too fast.
As a non-Tesla owner, the turn signals as buttons seems like bad UI. Your wife made the point that the button position changes depending on the position of the wheel. That you can get used to it doesn’t make it good UI. Turn signals are vital to communicating with other drivers. The orientation of a set of buttons shouldn’t be a thing toward which a driver should have to devote mental bandwidth. From that standpoint a stalk seems the clear winner IMO. All that said, by probably FSD v14 this whole conversation will be moot as we’ll likely have unlocked the ‘unsupervised’ achievement by then 🎉
Yeah I agree with you, there's a chance for confusion with the turn signals on the wheel, whereas left is always down and right is always up - when you're using stalks. I am okay/glad the put the stalks back, it means nothing to me - but people seem to be happy with it back. I use FSD for 95% of my driving (probably more) so I honestly never use my turn signals.
I hate the no turn signal stock. I did fill out a survey and let them know how annoying it is chasing the turn signals around the steering wheel. I'm looking for like sexy button turn stocks.
@ Yes. I bought it last August. Long Range AWD. Sexy Buttons is coming out with stocks but they are preorder only right now. I only want the turn signals.
@ Totally fair that no stalks aren't for everyone. I really don't mind, but like I have said I use FSD for 95% of my driving so I rarely am signaling. I wonder if the Model 3 will start to ship with a stalk now that they have it on the Y.
@ I reset the steering wheel resistance to the lowest setting. I hook my finger right by the turn buttons when I’m hard turning and hit the turn signal for the wrong direction. It happens less with a lighter touch wheel. Seriously though, my only complaint about the car. I drove a Nissan Leaf for 12 years and the Tesla is infinitely better. I have FSD but I’m just blocks from everything so I use it maybe once a week.
