I totally agree with you Joey! I wouldn't have a problem if I was home. This day and time people are weird, and some are just down right mean. Yes, there are people in this world who would help themselves to food or drink...or whatever catches their eye while in your home. I'm sure nothing like that will happen, it would just feel creepy knowing someone looked through my stuff lol.
I don't blame you for feeling creepy about that. Back when I lived in an apartment, I could swear the maintenance guy would come in with the pass key and borrow a little sugar or something. He was married to one of the tenants and her parents lived in the complex too, and they just seemed like the kind of people that would do that. When I came in after work, sometimes I had that feeling where you just "feel" like someone else had been in there. I decided to put a piece of clear tape at the bottom of the door and attach it to the door frame so that I could tell if the door had been opened when I left for work. LOL
You are 100% right. Technically they have the 'right' to do it because they own it, but come on--this is an invasion of privacy to do that when people are not home. What next will they use as an excuse to even enter private homes. Would you want that when you are not home? It's disturbing to see how much people go along with these things anymore and even to defending it.
I agree with you that it’s creepy for them to come in if you aren’t home. They could steal stuff, mess with stuff; I get it. Every place I rented did this though. One time they said they’d come between 9a-5p and we waited and no one came. They never did the inspection. Other times they did come. It wasn’t a big deal really. You said you’ll be home at that time because you work overnight, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
Pretty stand and they did this at many places i have lived could be they are running a home inspection for possible new owner, and you have not been told yet,....
Yeah it's becoming more of our privacy is going out the door. I know they will check inside your oven . Remove anything from the oven - fire hazard . Alot of it is about safety. They will check your fire alarms , carbon monoxide alarm, look in refrigerator, stove top, stuff like that. I rent In Michigan and I'm supposed to be supplied with a fire extinguisher and I don't have any. You are not responsible for supplying those things. I guess we just gotta do what ever it is to keep a roof over out heads . Call and ask what you should do with the dogs too. Hey put something gross or scary in your dresser drawers and a skeleton in the closet, just in case they want to be sneaky 😂
I would be more concerned with them coming in if I had pets. Some dogs would just lick them to death, but some pets are very protective when owners are not home. That could be very dangerous. Or what if someone’s pet escapes out the door and gets lost. Ughh
as a homeowner who will rent my home out when we move i would want to know the person is taking care of the home . people are so dishonest today so look at it from the owners view it’s just to know it’s being taken care of . if you have nothing to hide what’s the big deal .
Owners are allowed to give you a letter for inspection and yes they are allowed to use their master key to go into the home and make sure everything is in good condition and working it's not illegal because it's thier home not yours your renting only so really they are not invading your privacy. That's what you have to expect when your not the home owner I'm sure if you owned a home your rented and or made as AirBNB. Also take in mind there are many renters who destroy people's homes and it costs thousands to fix.
I get that. I’m not saying they shouldn’t do it. I’m saying I don’t feel it’s right to do it when you aren’t home. Schedule a time when someone is home so there isn’t any confusion or unnecessary assumptions. That’s my thoughts on it.
yep been thru this we owned a home rented it to a Pastor we lost 40,000 no joke they trashed the home then went and filed bankruptcy so they were protected . people are and can be so dishonest .
Hon I know a few places that they do that. One place I'm sure you know or heard of is The Lodge Run apartments in Portage. When my grandmother lived there, they did that. But no worries they don't go thru your draws. I know it's annoying but I agree it's not right but they are just doing there job making sure things are working and stuff. Happy Tuesday my friend.
I don’t mind the inspection, I just don’t think it’s right to come in when you aren’t home. I just feel it’s a privacy issue. But hopefully it goes good. Sitting here waiting for them.
Oh yesssss the good ole waiting game. Everything will be fine. Just sit out on the porch and enjoy this beautiful weather till they make their way to your place
I know what your going through. I live in a trailer park about 2 hrs from you. We have home inspections they inspect the condition of the trailer because trailers lose value why you can go get your property taxes readjusted every 3 years because they lose value. But yea they just check the condition of the home mostly the floors and do a quick walk through. Dont over think it its fairly simple and quick. Its there land we just pay the lot rent on it pretty much so like you said there property.

Yeah, very creepy lol
This is a new normal home inspection if you live in trailer parks or apartments

That’s actually a good idea lol. I wish I could put cameras around on the outside and inside but we aren’t allowed.

Yeah but it’s also hard when you have to sleep to work the next night and you’re staying up waiting for them
I’d get a couple indoor cameras to help deter weirdos
Or even put up a couple signs “smile you’re on camera”
Unfortunately we aren’t allowed. Not even a ring cam.
Pretty stand and they did this at many places i have lived could be they are running a home inspection for possible new owner, and you have not been told yet,....
That could be.

lol that’s not a bad idea lol
For the safety of people’s pets they shouldn’t just barge on in. Pets might escape or even bite.
Exactly!
I don’t agree with them demanding to come in when you’re not hope they should let you make the decision to be there or not
Exactly!
I would be more concerned with them coming in if I had pets. Some dogs would just lick them to death, but some pets are very protective when owners are not home. That could be very dangerous. Or what if someone’s pet escapes out the door and gets lost. Ughh
Exactly! My one dog does not like strangers at all. She would try to eat them.
I wouldn’t allow them to come in.I want my privacy
Unfortunately, that is not an option. The lease he signed obviously states the company has a right to inspect the premises.
Unfortunately it is in my lease that they can do that. But I agree with you though.
They do this for safety reasons but I would install indoor cameras in case something is stolen from you and your mom.
I wish I could but we aren’t allowed any cameras
The city can come dem them to raise the lot rent document video the inspection
I don't agree with them wanting to come in when you are not home someone should be home i would think
I agree!

I’m not against the inspection. That’s not my issue. My issue is I don’t feel it’s right to go snooping around inside when the tenant is not home.
@@TheVochekExperience i get it but i guess it’s that way for everyone’s protection .
@ajcrum3689 I don’t know
I say no they're not you're not home they don't come in I would have a problem with that also
Exactly!

@ajcrum3689 Yeah there are
@TheVochekExperience True I agree! Do you not trust or know the landlord that well?
@@ajcrum3689 You can still sue for damages 💔 sorry that happened to you.
Housing authority places do that to keep up with being able to keep their hud certification and all that.
Yeah
I don’t agree with them coming when you’re not there unless it’s an emergency you should get a choice
Haha and when you said about the dogs I remember the time I thought ezrie tried to eat me when Sara was holding her

Yeah. But like I said I just think it’s not too professional to just come in when the tenant isn’t home.
@@TheVochekExperience Oh I totally agree but nothing we can do but just bitch about it pisses me off too.
@justal9093 Exactly!
I wouldnt like that at all. Try to lock up your financials.
I don’t keep anything like that in the house
change the door locks so they cant get in
Good way to get evicted!
Can’t do that
Exactly
