Heyo everybody! First of all, I'm sorry about some of the shaky footage in the beginning, camera decided to live it's own life. It gets way better at around 3 minutes in so hang in there if it disturbs you :-) Second, if you're just here for the climbing that starts at 2:30 and ends about 20 minutes in. Hope you enjoy the video!
When I started watching Eriks videos I thought everybody in Sweden just casually climbs V10+ but turns out the crew is just all the strongest climbers in the country
I love how authentic and down to earth your videos are man. Thanks for showing us an in-depth preview of a side of climbing many youtubers don’t frequently feature!
Your videos have seriously become the best climbing content on RUclips in my opinion. I loved seeing your perspective and the quality is top notch! I'm looking forward to the future.
Fantastic video, easily one of my favorites! I love all the climbing content of course, but I live for this style. The way you broke down every problem really highlights the problem solving aspect of comp climbing, and I personally find it fascinating how all that thinking has to be done on the fly. Also I think it's pretty obvious that you are strong enough to compete at this level, and a bit more experience would have lead to at least 2-3 more tops, so I can't wait to see your progression there. And echoing another commenter and want to say big ups to Nikken for being head route setter at the national level! That's so cool!
As always, great video and impressive climbing from you. Love to hear your comments which are very inspirational for me. Also, it's awesome to see Fredrik for a bit and always nice to see Nikken (love your nails btw ❤)
Very cool! Would also love to see you doing them in training afterwards to see how they were supposed to be done. Some look mad complex! Or show us more of that Fredrik guy :P
Hello Emil, i would love to see a little training video by you! What works for you and what you do to get stronger! Or just a little bit of info about the journey you took to get where you are? All the best Chris x
Great video Emil. Shame you didnt send the blue compression style boulder, I would have loved to see the beta. Cant see how it can be done, looks super hard!
This has been one of my favorite videos of yours, love watching comp climbing and hearing your thoughts on the boulders is very nice and educational! Keep up the awesome content!
Loved it! You seem a lot more balanced as a climber compared to an older video of the Swedish Nationals :) Eventhough you did not feel very powerful, you were not rushing into the boulders and resting too little, like back then! Its a simulation but still.. looking forward to seeing you at international comps when they start again
Love the video. Would be cool to see how much differently you approach the boulders in a group training session after the mock comp. to see how quickly you can complete these boulders when you are using the intended beta. Super strong though and keep pushing out the amazing content :)
Hey Emil! Thanks for the insight! I expierienced simmilar problems with nutrition before. A lesson to be learned on a vegan diet. I did plan ahead, but the information i got was misleading. Nutrition is a key part of performance and we absoluteley have to have a plan b, covering our needs! Otherwise thanks for the continuos great content!
Great video, nice to see how you train for a comp scenario! Do you have any footage of other people sending the boulders you didn't? Intrigued to see how the crack was meant to go??
Hi Emil, did you notice, that you used a different beta on your 3rd boulders last attempt? Sometimes one judges too early on lacking strength Nice video as always, cheers
For the boulder at 13:23, I wonder if using a heel instead of a toe might have worked for you? (Obviously judging from a screen is easy and I can't feel the hold or the position, so I'm probably wrong, but just a thought! Might give you more space "in the box.")
Yeah, if everything fails, just throw sweet potato in the microwave / oven beforehand. Easily stored, good nutrition and even plain they are pretty delicious! I either peel them before eating or if they are exceptionally good, eat them unpeeled.
Does anyone know which klättercenter nikken sets at? i've heard them talk about both solna and akalla, but there's also telefonplan... i'm going to sthlm this winter and wondering which one to visit
Id like to see a video of Fredrik doing all of them. I dont know if hes got a youtube channel but hes not shown enought. Make more together videos with this guy maybe? I am sure lots of people would enjoy seeing him crushing.
Seriously nikken build with Jacky that man is awsome is made so much for Fontainebleau anyway that was a very cool vid with very Nice boulder and like the Wayne you explain how you where feeling during the boulder and what you should have do
I see you got a pair of Red Line's strap, I've been wanting to buy those for a while now but none of my peers is a madrock user. The Drone's are my current shoe, how do they compare?
He and Nikken are both vegan (at least Nikken was too back in the day) and there is a nutrition video - I think on Eriks channel! Maybe from about 2-3 years ago? I remember they made a cake :D.
@Walter Lotte Possibly! I don't know any numbers though. Back when they mentioned being vegan I was surprised how civil the comments were. I think the climbing community is pretty open and generally more health conscious. I suspect there are more vegans percentage wise as well, compared to the average 1-2%. It probably also helps to look like Emil and Nikken to shut up the "where do you get your protein" crowd 😀.
Great video and editing! A bit of feedback, please remove the background music if there is already music in the audio, it was really hard to concentrate on the chat with Nikken at the end because of the two layers of music. Looking forward to the next video!
The intended beta by the setters was (I believe) to go layback to the right for the entire boulder essentially :) You could also layback on the left side with feet along the upper yellow box
So... are you on the swedish national team Emil? also are there any bouldering comps coming up that is streamed? would love to watch some comps but everything seems cancelled
It's a shame they didn't have enough proper food for you. But there seems to be a reason why Adam Ondra always brings his own food to give his body what it's used to and needs.
Cool to see this mock comp and you competing in it. Although the word “mock” is just made up for people who are bad at losing (wink). Ofcourse I am the keyboard warrior, but it seems that you still have many areas to improve, if you wish to join real competition. You say in the video you are tired and you didn’t eat well (especially with a special diet you should always bring your own food), but to be honest those are just bad excuses and can easily be fixed and is all part of being a professional. You are probably not waiting for this unsolicited advise, but hey it’s the internet and these are things I notice as an ex-professional athlete and scientist. Hope it can help you in the future. Thanks for making these videos!

It's awesome to see you in a Swedish National Team shirt.
Yes please! A video with Fredrik!!
Emil releasing a video = amazing day

this was an awesome video! hope you'll post more comp stuff
Made that Dyno look easy!

Exactly the video I was hoping for from the Comp Sim!
So sick to see some comp climbing integrated into your channel! Best of luck going forward with it man.
Never been this early! :D Already excited for the vid, love from Germany :)
This early is when all the cool folk watch, welcome to the squad. Hope you like the video! :)

Really nice video! Keep it up I really enjoy watching you guys climb. It´s really inspiring me and is a great motivation!
Very very good fun. Thanks.
Loved the sly shots of Merkel, Macron and the Orange Oaf.
Loving the constant celebrations on that second boulder - good job man!!!

Thanks a lot for this insight. Really like this video!
Excelent video .. as always !! Keep it up 👍👍👍
Great quality videos lately, go on man!

Thanks :) That was originally the idea, and something I'll make sure to make time for in a future video with the same format
Hey I love Luleå, our family is from Piteå. Norrbotten is so beautiful, I’ve always wanted to climb there
Man, I've tried to eat and drink things far too many times with my mask on as well haha. I felt that coffee story...
Awesome job Emil! #SuperSends
Good reflection
it's a shame we havent goot footage of you completing the boulders after the event

Unfortunately I do not have any of that footage :/ The crack was actually supposed to be climbed as a lay-back!
Thanks for taking the time to reply 👍 Looking forward you seeing you in action at a comp soon!
Wow props to Nikken for getting to the point as a setter to be head setter for national comps!
Indeed, our meatball is leveling up!
Love your vids!!!!!!!
Thank you! :D
that flash on b2 was insane dude

Happy to hear you are vegan!
Nice video!
It must have been a very cool comp. The boulders look awesome! Sweden is sure very well represented. Cheers :)
12:15 Who is the guy in the black shorts?
As a vegan myself, the number rule for travel is always bring your own food, and bring more than you think you'll need.
Yeah, if everything fails, just throw sweet potato in the microwave / oven beforehand. Easily stored, good nutrition and even plain they are pretty delicious!
I either peel them before eating or if they are exceptionally good, eat them unpeeled.
wuhu vegan power!
Indeed. I usually stick to that rule but was unable to because of some poor planning :/
Does anyone know which klättercenter nikken sets at? i've heard them talk about both solna and akalla, but there's also telefonplan... i'm going to sthlm this winter and wondering which one to visit
Come to Solna! :)

Wondering what new shoes Emil is in
Is this Jacky Godoffe at 7:48 ?
Yes!
Seriously nikken build with Jacky that man is awsome is made so much for Fontainebleau anyway that was a very cool vid with very Nice boulder and like the Wayne you explain how you where feeling during the boulder and what you should have do
What shoes are you wearing at this comp simulation Emil?
Been wanting to ask the same question.
drove hvs are the black shoe and redline strap are the white n red shoes both from madrock
They are the Mad Rock Redline I think!
It's not a mock if you care about winning ;). You are looking strong dude, some pretty sweet and tricky looking boulders. Good job.
Haha I care about winning even when I’m just having a chill climb session with the boys so idk about that one
@@xfluto4806 haha, yea, I get that too.
Any footage of the whole comp? Specifically, want to see Fredrik on them!
Emil actually matching top holds?!?! Whaaaat?
Is there somewhere we can see Fredrik's climbing from the event?
Why is the guy in the background at the end brushing the wall?
How do you like the redline compared to the drone?
I see you got a pair of Red Line's strap, I've been wanting to buy those for a while now but none of my peers is a madrock user. The Drone's are my current shoe, how do they compare?
The new red line is like a much softer version of the drone, an incredible indoor/comp shoe! :)
You are vegan!!? can we see a full day of wating and training i would love to see! freat mock comp too looking strong

@@fuzz6263 Me too, awesome!
I want to see the vegan dishes they eat, that would be cool.
Are you planning on climbing world cups in the future?
12:08 has anyone found the beta yet?
What are the grades od the boulders? What is the level of competishion climbing?
Good effort, did it make a difference to your mindset knowing Nikken had set some of the boulders?
Maybe pistol strength would help you with the slabs.
You can't just kill a judge and hope to take a tick for the Boulder :D
on some walls, there are always two holes next to eachother. do both holes have t nuts, or just one, and why are they so close to eachother?
Actually each bolt hole has a led light next to it, so that the gym can light up with different themes! It's super cool tbh :)

Nice video! What was the intended Beta on the second Boulder in the finals? I don't see any other beta than yours ^^
The intended beta by the setters was (I believe) to go layback to the right for the entire boulder essentially :)
You could also layback on the left side with feet along the upper yellow box
