    Great interesting video! I’ve always set goals in the past and either procrastinated or not even touching my goals….now after watching this video, I realize I should focus on optimizing the systems that will lead me to my goals 😊

      @JeanVoronkova  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there, thank you for watching & I'm so glad the video made sense to you! For me the biggest thing about goals is that i get distracted and "fall off the wagon".... the timeline for focusing on the change needed to bring about the goal results is too big i guess. Systems means that everyday is a easily actionable small step in the right direction.... thereby leading to the desired results and beyond. Wishing you a very fruitful 2024 :)

    Hello, my name is Ariel, I’m your audience living in California. I recently just quit my technical program manager job at US TikTok, to live my dream life, which is travel around in my camper van with my dog. I’m trying to start up my RUclips channel and it’s been going slow. I’ve been under a lot of anxious feelings and your video very helpful to make me feel better and also give me helpful tips on where I could actually improve my life and my build systems to make my dream life a reality.

    Hi, Jean! It's been lovely following you this past year and hearing about your "retirement" in Bali. I took your advice many times regarding changing my lifestyle, all the way from going to Bali for a month (it was too hot for me) to selling or giving away everything I owned and moving to Italy! I began the year by leaving the US and arriving in Rome on New Year's Day with the plan of staying at an airbnb for two months as I look for permanent housing. I'm sure I could never have done it as well as I did without your words of encouragement, especially hearing how you simplified your possessions and decided to live with less. I am now staying in a small village in Abruzzo, working with two lovely lawyers to get my Elective Residency visa processed and finding an apartment for the present. I never had any doubt that what I'm doing would succeed because my heart led me here and your example showed me. Thanks again for continuing to bless and inspire us with your wisdom and compassion!❤

      oh Meg! thank you so much for sharing your life with me and leaving me this kind note. Hearing stories llike yours really makes all the effort we put into the videos really worthwhile. You're so brave! well done you!! Italy sounds lovely I've been a couple of times and am always terribly charmed by the food, the scenery and the culture - good luck for that ER visa!! you can do this - n it's gonna be such a wonderful journey. I'm happy you followed your heart to Italy! Big hugs from Bali!!!! we r rooting for you!

    Thank you again Jean...i can't stop watching your videos. This is the 1st time I've been able to share the SAME sentiments and know someone in Asia/other places are thinking the same. I have to develop systems for myself- starting now with what I want my next career step to be. I'm all over the place- perimenopause right now and do not feel like myself, but watching your videos this evening...I am not alone in this journey! My mom is my #1 cheerleader and she encourages me all the time, but I need to do this on my own, and I will. THANK YOU AGAIN for all the information and encouragement- please continue the videos- you are making a huge difference❤

    The idea of Systems rather than Goals is on reflection such an obvious and valuable plan. You've again inspired me to implement your suggestions into my quest for self improvement. Even in my mid sixties I get much pleasure from learning new ideas and relearning neglected older ones.

I can't take credit for the idea - it's been floating around for a few years thanks to james clear but even for myself 2023 was the first time i started examining my life and the areas that need improving from the perspective of systems, not goals, and it truly works much better, so i'm gonna keep implementing that for 2024! all the best for your life quests!

      Hi there, yes of course i got my down days and they are terrible (ask V he'll hv a long spiel on them haha). Actually V put me on Omega 3 supplements since about 2 years back and they've been absolutely essential for stabilizing my moods! But i think thats on the hormonal & sleep front mainly. I find that maintaining a healthy regular sleep schedule (in bed by 10ish lights out by 11ish latest and up early for surf) is bloody important for making me sleep better n function happier and more productive each day, plus if i'm just feeling low with no particular reason, getting active & working up a sweat always is a no-fail pick me up. If there's no surf (always makes me SO happy!) we skateboard or hike or gym (but i'm cancelling my gym thing this year though) or i dance it out to music at home haha. If there's an actual problem bugging me I either contemplate, journal or meditate or its a combo of it all. Like with goal achieving, there's no magic to all the stuff i said above. There's no one "magic pill" solution. The magic i think is in keeping up with all of these little habits every day consistently over a long period of time, and you shd feel (if u track thru journal or etc) a sustained and measurable improvement in how you feel overall. And u need to try out all sorts of diff stuff n then find the unique cocktail that works for you! Hang in there!

    Hi Jean and Vitaly and happy 2024! (It's still January so I think I can still say it haha). Just got a chance to catch up on your last few videos as I was traveling. I try to set small actions that will lead towards a bigger goal too but I am extremely undisciplined so I find it hard to even stick to the smallest action like flossing every day or doing small exercises while watching TV, etc. Would love to hear your advice on how to develop discipline!

    • @JeanVoronkova
      @JeanVoronkova  11 месяцев назад +1

      hey you happy new year 2024 tooo!!!! very happy to see you! where did u go and what did u get up to! everyone has an issue with discipline i think haha... its just a matter of chopping and dicing it till u find a formula of small steps that work. For me lately ive committed to a new habit of 10 squats n 10 surf popups on the yoga mat everyday.... its smtg i wanted to do since all of 2023 but couldn't get myself to do it! i kept thinking before bed wd be the best time.... but last few days, i realised in the morning if i change into a bikini right after brushin my teeth it makes me feel ready to go, n its easy to do the 10 squats n popups on the yoga mat cos im already suitably attired... whereas by the time i remember it before bed, im already in my clean jammies n i dun wanna go lie on my mat haha. And so far i've manaaged to keep to my habit everyday for less than a week haha but im still going! If small exercises during TV time doesnt work (kinda distracts from whats happening on tv i find!), u cd do squats or stretches during or right after brushin your teeth perhaps? or in between computer time when u get up for a stretch. n the flossing... if u normally do it before you brush your teeth, what about trying after? or switch to a water pik if u dont like floss?

    • @unsaltedbeurre3411
      @unsaltedbeurre3411 10 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the tips! 10 squats a day sound quite doable! You're right. It's all about finding time slots for very small actions in everyday routine. The hardest part for me is starting it. I'm weird though. I can go cold turkey changing a certain habits just at a snap of fingers, i.e. One day I woke up and decided I didn't need coffee anymore so I just quit coffee and I've stayed off it for nearly 2 years now and not even one slip! Years ago I also decided I wouldn't drink soft drinks anymore and just like that, I stopped cold turkey. I guess I'm good at quitting, but not starting haha.
      We went to the Philippines, although nice, but Bali (and Thailand) win hands down!@@JeanVoronkova

      hi hi! sorry Weetak i don't hv mando on this computer so i'm just gonna reply in english lol - Bali is not a bad choice for Lunar New Year if you're happy to escape the new year pricing in most places that celebrate LNY! Like Vietnam, Singapore, HK etc during this time everything gets inflated and a lot of stuff is closed but for Bali it's mostly life as normal so for us that's an absolute boon. The downside is that there won't be much festive feeling except within your friend circles and family who celebrate! But its really hot weather this year - i tell you this first!
