Hi Paul. Nice Military Trangia, that's the same kit as mine, great to see you cook on it. I have a couple of tips for you to make it nicer to use. 1. On top of the military grade burner you'll see there's a ridge that forms a shallow well. When you fill it spill a little meths in that well so it burns on the outside, that will help preheat it so it blooms much quicker. They're bigger and thicker grade brass than the civvy one so they take longer to heat up. 2. The handle on the lid has two D rings. This is to insert a stick to make a handle that won't burn your hands. I made a permanent one from a bit of old broom handle sanded on one side to fit and cut short enough to fit in the packed kit. Hope that helps. Thanks for taking the time to make and post your vids.
Looking forward to seeing the next series. I really enjoy your videos. For what it is worth... I enjoy your work because I can just sit back, relax and unwind. Learn something in a totally chilled out way. Your channel is one of my faves.
I re-profiled the lifeventure titanium knife to a scandi edge, The original profile was scalloped and inefficient for purpose. It took a good while to do on a japanese water stone and took alot of wet stropping to re-polish. Now it's the best urban survival tool i have. Great Vid, Keep It Up Guys !!
So all the menus are set now for a Spring/Summer of wild camping. Well done Paul...that looked a bit healthier than the BLT. Look forward to watching more vids soon.
I’ve been playing around with using a military surplus British respirator satchel (the newer type) as a kit bag for my Trangia 25 systems. The kit fits inside with convenient slots for cutlery kits and utensils. The side pouches will hold two of the 8oz vargo bottles each. It’ll also hold one of the taller food service type butane cans per side pouch if I have the bulin gas burner plus the gworks adapter for the food service gas. It’s a pretty convenient all in one kit.
Thought this was going to be your last woodland video and said NO to myself, glad you plan a return to this series in the spring, looking forward to it already.
Hi Paul. The army stoves take longer to bloom because the tank is quite a bit bigger than on a standard Trangia. I put a few drops of meths on the top of mine to give it a kick start. It definitely knocks a few minutes off the time. The tip about Home Bargains was supposed to be our little secret... P.S. That was a lot of salt on your chicken. Those noodle sachets are full of it, too. Watch your blood pressure. ;o)
Paul, I really have enjoyed your cooking series. I have learned a lot & I would like to share with you how to better use that Swedish cook set. I usually take some tin/alum foil & double or triple it up and put it partially around the windscreen. This will help the stove bloom quicker & work at higher heat. I will usually put some meths as you call them on the outside of the burner to make it heat up quicker. I used to be pretty good a bbq chicken & I would boil my chicken first, cooking it thoroughly and then put it on the grill with my special bbq sauce. It was the best. Take care and may God bless you and Peter.
We can't get the small cans of veggies here anymore. I remember the small cans of spinach because I used to open one after school and pretend I was Popeye. I'd eat the spinach right from the can.
Hi Paul, just checking to see if your okay only noticed you haven’t uploaded any videos for a while, hope all is well mate.......Doug ( Doushal Kennels )!!
99p for 500ml of meths!! Crikey Paul I wanna shop where you do. Cracking cook out as always mate, I also tried hexi blocks I couldn't get on with them either, expensive and stinky, meths is defo the way forward for a silent cook too. Lunch looked ace. Cheers, Lee (Burton Outdoors)
I find meths just about tolerable. Unless really well ventilated I find it quite smelly, even nauseating to use at times. Bio-ethanol though, I find much more tolerable to use, especially if in a rain battered vestibule area (still need some ventilation of course). It's a bit more expensive but gets a big thumbs up from me.
I may have made this comment before, but I really think your meths as you call them are diluted. I have several Trangia's military & civilian & I used denatured alcohol. Even in cold weather they will cook like the devil. You are correct that the military burner is a bit slower. Glad to see that Peter is coming along.
Hi Paul, would have sent a PM but we can't do that anymore..I am shortly going to be announcing the date for this years Hobo Hangout at Old Allens, you will be invited if you would like to attend. Would be good to meet up as you are so local to me. Keep an eye out on my channel. Thanks. Sam. PS. Noodles - my kind of level!😁
You got me cooking out doors

Morning mate just started watching the video and you say your ending the series I enjoy the woodland kitchen
Paul great video as per usual, try cutting chicken into strips / smaller pieces for cooking time and saving fuel.
They were pretty small ;)
Another great cook out. I also find that my army trangia takes a long time to bloom - but what’s the hurry?
There's no hurry at all! Love the outdoors ;)
looked good
How about Sausage and Mash using Smash instant potatoes, peas and sausages for a very last cook. George

We can't get the small cans of veggies here anymore. I remember the small cans of spinach because I used to open one after school and pretend I was Popeye. I'd eat the spinach right from the can.

Mild Camper going to try that product too. Cheers
This is what I bought (B&Q nearby):
www.diy.com/departments/la-hacienda-bio-ethanol-fuel-2l/540224_BQ.prd
Mild Camper Nice one pretty cheap for 2L, does it burn ok though? No difference to meths?
Mare Paul come back 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍😊✅👋🇦🇺👌
I may have made this comment before, but I really think your meths as you call them are diluted. I have several Trangia's military & civilian & I used denatured alcohol. Yes i dilute the meths with water. It stops it sooting up the pot and burner. It#s harder to light though.
Paul - what happened to ukoutdoors - I was really enjoying his stuff (as I do yours).
Please do more videos
