    I love how detailed you guys went into this. I know people always say that intakes are useless sure I agree for a STOCK car. You need intakes to take advantage of it as with every other car generally.

    I’d love to get my q60 tuned by AMS, especially since I live so close....but there’s that factory warranty.😓

    When I bought ams alpha intake it looks so small compared to my intake many years ago. Installed it and that shut my mouth quick . I felt the pull after I installed the ams tune file to my ecu . Love the loud noise of the intake sucking the air

    Test with the hood closed...I've been suggesting/mentioning that for the same reason for years. Makes perfect sense.

    I live in Sydney, Australia and there isn’t any place to get the car tuned, so I’m trying to determine is it worth getting these intakes, will I see any horsepower increase went out of tune..
    I will also add a FI CBE..

    Do you have to get a tune after installation? Or the car will adapt and be fine with it on? And also will this viod the manufacture warranty?

    • @AMSPerformance

      The car will be fine without a tune. We strongly suggest a tune to take advantage of all of the new potential with the new flow.

    You didn't answer below when deon9026 asked you, "Does this tune void the warranty?"

    • @AMSPerformance
      @AMSPerformance  4 года назад

      This is a question for your dealer. Every dealer is different. We do not determine what the threshold is for denying warranty claims that are established by the vehicle manufacturer. Thank you for the question.

    • @crob5523
      @crob5523 4 года назад +2

      @@AMSPerformance For the warranty being voided is not up to the dealerships, It is up to the factory/manufacturer. So I take it that it probably does void the warranty as all flash tunes do and I am sure that you know that. Be honest with everyone if your product is going to void their warranty, save them some heartache down the road, and if your customer chooses to go that way, well, that will be on them. Personally, I would never do anything that would void the warranty of my vehicle, even if something breaks on the Q60 that may not have nothing to do with your tune, the manufacturer will not cover the repairs and your customer will be stuck with paying huge bucks just to get a little more HP. Not worth it.......

    • @PrimeGalvatron
      @PrimeGalvatron 3 года назад +1

      This is false..a tune MAY deny you service on the engine, but it would have to be proven that the tune was what in fact caused the damage.
      Ask how I know.

    • @crob5523
      @crob5523 3 года назад

      @@PrimeGalvatron I don't have to. Every major part of the engine WILL NOT be covered by the warranty. It may depend on the dealer if they want to do you a solid and cover another part of the engine that may or may not have any relation to the tune, but who cares about that????? The powertrain will not be covered if you tune your vehicle, THAT IS A FACT. The powertrain is what you do not want to pay for when something goes wrong. My Jag F-Type R had a $20,000 factory German transmission, there is no way I would tune that car and have to pay for a new trans if anything happened. That is just stupid, unless you are rich and don't give a fu(k. Also, there are countless youtube videos on people trying to get their car fixed, but the dealer denies them because they have a tune. Some even bought a used car not knowing it had a flash tune and when they brought it in to the dealer and they ran the diagnostics, the car had a tune and the warranty was denied. They even bought that car from the same dealer if you can believe that????? They still denied him. Tunes voids warranties....

    • @PrimeGalvatron
      @PrimeGalvatron 3 года назад

      @@crob5523 Once again, there is no stipulation stating tunes void warranties. That is flat out false, you're applying a global answer to a situational issue AND you're not even using the same manufacturer as an example.
      Ive tuned my last two vehicles, a Benz and an Infiniti. The Benz transmission blew and it was replaced because there was no proof the tune caused the transmission to go up. This wasn't a case of the dealer doing me a solid, I had no connection. The service manager flatly told me they have to PROVE the mod is what caused the damage and that is tricky in the case of ECU based tunes.
      My q60 has been tuned and, once again, I asked the dealer if a tune voids the warranty. His answer? Similar to what I was told by Mercedes 3 years ago - if they can prove the tune was specificly caused the mechanical failure, yes service could be denied.
      I won't even get into the various companies that have direct tuning relationships with dealerships and offer tuning parts.
      Your blanket statement is, was, and will remain false -- you simply have no concrete proof aside from what you assume. Dealerships deny service on things that are cleary covered by the warranty, so your anecdotal examples are simply proof some dealers make decisions based what they're willing to do -- that is not a standard.
      In the case of the person buying a car previously flash tuned, this is clearly an individual case, not a rule. The dealer should have flashed the car back to stock, and a little bit of log checking would have proved if they did or didn't. Dealerships deny service to save money and further warranty claims.
      Where is your written proof from tje manufacturer? I'll wait, but im going to be waiting forever because you cannot produce what doesn't exist.

      @Cab895 2 года назад +1

      @@AMSPerformance Your data, just like every other data shows that aftermarket intakes on VR30s are a waste of money. They same money can be used elsewhere for cooling/exhaust/tuning and you will get significantly more hp/dollar.

    • @zeppkfw

      @@Cab895 15-20hp increase is not too bad and helps your other bolt ons get the most amount of power with a custom tune. It's like putting bigger nostrils on a human. Humans tend to enlarge our nostrils when we have trouble breathing, it's a medical fact.
