Gosh my heart is quivering we had such a solid squad just to trade Mitch when Nagy was the problem and us not resigning Robbie Gould the double doinker would have never happened..
I will never forget listening to a nagy presser on the bears podcast the week leading up to that game when Nagy was asked if he was concerned going into the playoffs with a kicker who hit the pole four times that season. Nagy said jokingly “no i mean he hit the pole. You gotta have pretty good aim to hit the pole” 100000% that line was what he was rethinking when he had that blank stare after the doubledoink
They were so distracted with fixing the kicking problem during the 2019 offseason to a point where they completely lost sight of all the developing problems on the offensive side of the ball.
@@coreyrowe4119 every kicker misses kicks, it's not automatic. Yes, Gould's leg strength wasn't elite, but he was dead accurate in 40- and 30-yard ranges. There was no reason to get rid of the bears leading scorer, he proved himself and was a great kicker after the bears with the 49ers. It's just another long line of bad bears management decisions thinking kicking is an expendable position, its called football for a reason. Gould, the longest-tenured player for the Bears, ended his career in Chicago as the team's all-time leader in career points (1,207), field goals made (276), and career field goals of at least 50 yards (23). It's not easy kicking at the lake front with Chicago weather.
things were just clicking that year, offense and defense. that was legitimately our year, it wasnt even a difficult kick, and he messed up our whole year.
Yeah.. but great defenses tend to be short lived. When a defensive juggernaut wins a SB, without an elite QB, it's always one and done. The Bears had their window here in 2018 and blew it. But if we're really being realistic, Trubisky wasn't beating Brady anyway. As always, they didn't have the QB to ride that defense to a championship. Tbh though with the Bears' reliably putting together good defenses every few years, if you imagine them having a truly elite QB who's there for up to 10 years, the sky is the limit
Amazing D. Eddie Jackson before the big deal, Mack and Hicks!! Awesome. Sad that we were one double doink from a Super Bowl most likely 😢😢 but isn’t this being a Bear fan?? Let down after let down 😭😭 hopefully we will be smart this year and build this team to win! Bear down!
Should show this during team meetings they all played for each other look at all those body sacrificing catches the receivers did and if the hicks is still out there retire his ass a BEAR bring him back
I really miss this team. Miss the Nagy and Trubisky era, it’s way better than this stupid era we’re in rn. If it wasn’t for the double donk, who knows if we would’ve made a Super Bowl run that year
I do notmiss Nagy at all.. He ruined Mitch and that dude played scared and still does today. For some reason he took Mitch and his game out of play and thought he could make him a game manager. Pace put some good pieces in place but screwed up the draft by over paying for trades. Sad Mitch couldn't get his game back bc he is a goood kid.
Man... Mitch looked like our franchise, we had a really good team, good HC... we need a new Hc, new oc , new staff ,Caleb or May, we aint getting it done with flus , getsy and fields
No way you put a clip of injuring Rodgers' knee at 1:10 as a highlight, knowing he came back on one knee to shred you guys and send you home in the fourth quarter lmaooo
I have a theory about the offensive decline later in the 2018 season. I believed that Nagy lost a big part of his offensive scheme when Cohen got injured. Without that "Tyreek Hill type" player, Nagy's offense couldn't operate effectively.
I simply can. Not. Handle that the bears lost that sunday night game against the peckers. 17 to goddamn ZERO is a hell of a lead to blow. I was depressed for a week solid. I dont think i left the couch. I just sat there. For a week.
That loss pretty much foreshadowed the entire Nagy era. I wish I had just ignored the entire NFL until this year, I would have saved so much time and energy!
This was our 1 real chance to sweep the Rodgers era Packers and we choked it away, I had to avoid watching ESPN for an entire week just to avoid seeing any highlights from that debacle.
You know watching mitch play yes he struggled at times but i think it was more coaching then him. I think mitch would have never failed if they had a coach that knew what he was doing and not run the same plays and become predictable.
What happened to Mitch...I think Nagy ruined him in practice and told not to turn the ball over. He played scared and never got it back and sucks so bad now
Yeah he is, if nagy hadn't tried to fuck him over and played to his strengths and the Bears hadn't gotten rid of Howard this team could have been good for a few years
It's crazy how well we traveled that year, every game sounded like a home game
This teams makes me emotional
100%… I never loved a bears team as much as this one in all my years of watching. I come back to look at this just to feel something😂… it hurts
Couldn’t agree more
You stole the words right out of my mouth brother….we were robbed.
Gosh my heart is quivering we had such a solid squad just to trade Mitch when Nagy was the problem and us not resigning Robbie Gould the double doinker would have never happened..
Same.. I knew it was over once cohen got hurt.
This defense was so good. Thank you Vic and Mack.
This team is unrecognizable just a handful of years later
6?
So much hate for Mitch man but when he was confident he was great
Oh yeah, same with Naggy. I liked naggy I feel he should still be our head coach
@@tylerjamz17 hell no
5 years later and we aren’t even close to this type of team. 😢
Shhhh. Look at us now, we’re getting better bro be patient
@@ASNEditz-man tell em. We got a Top 10 defense.
Blame the ownership
We’re getting there

The Double Doink Set Our Franchise Back Years

Cohen and those wheel routes man
yes, he would have been a franchise RB if not for the injuries. so sad.
Chicago's defense were so much fun to watch.
things were just clicking that year, offense and defense. that was legitimately our year, it wasnt even a difficult kick, and he messed up our whole year.
As an Eagles fan, I could not believe the double doink. I was flabbergasted, happy, but flabbergasted.
Man something just brings back memories of how we could’ve won it all that season 🥹
I miss this team so much. And even then I was pulling my hair out watching😂😂 but still miss this team
2018 will always be my favorite football season
This was my favorite year all around I will miss 8th grade 🥲
A lot of second efforts on everyones part and great intensity. We don't have much of that currently.
This team was so fun 2 watch especially the defense
Miss that 2018 defense, Mack was amazing, everyone played amazing and Vic got the best out of everyone.

😢 those were the days
Our defense is starting to get there. We need a competent OC to get the offense clicking like this again
praying for another bears era like this
2024, Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Cole Kmet, D’Andre Swift, Jaylon Johnson, Montez Sweat, Gerald Everett
WE MAKIN IT OUT OF DEPRESSION WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥

fun team...sad season
it's crazy if this were todays league we would have had a first round bye. As of today the 49ers are 12-4 and the 1 seed

Thanks for not showing the Double Doink...
This was our year REALLY.
I wish the Bears are still like this. BEAR DOWN!

Good time 😢
Just curious..but what happened after that week 1 packers game in the second half?
Was a fun year. So many players from this team just disappeared
Of course this comes up on my feed after we lose to the packers on the last play of the season
If Cody Parker hits that kick in the wild card, this team goes to the Super Bowl🤷🏼♂️

Who's that #10 guy? Did that guy help the Bears get the North title?
Forgot trubisky use to run a lot 😂😂😂
what happen at the end of the video???? is this the double doink season? lol
Sad what my favorite team has become since then
Who here hates Doug Pederson for icing the kicker in that playoff game?
