Nah not at all man, it’s really just down to each individual person - I just thought it was interesting for me personally how close the times were. On another day cockpit cam would’ve probably won!
@@joshwag9136 That makes sense and tends to be the case for most people, I am obviously a bit of a weirdo 🤣 Interestingly though Petter and Oliver Solberg both drive these games in chase cam with a wheel - they say it gives them the best feel for what the rear of the car is doing since they can’t actually feel it like they would in real life. It almost broke the internet when they posted videos of them racing in chase cam for an esports event 🤣
That little Samir touch was hilarious🤣 Btw, that was some nice driving in both chase and cockpit cam. But I think I'll stick to chase cam, since it gives you a wider view of the environment.
Glad you liked it man 😆 Yeah I was genuinely surprised at how similar the times were, barely anything in it! For sure man, whatever cam you prefer is all that matters! Thanks for the comment 😁
@@sergiogarza613 I think just practice is the only way to get better (sorry for the very obvious answer 😅) Dirtfish freeroam area is your friend for getting a good feel for it without the frustrations of a normal stage :)
@@jns08d Honestly awesome comments like these are what keeps me motivated 💙 Welcome to the world of sim racing lads, it’s really great to have you both here! 🤝
I only drive using the cameras inside the car, mainly the dashboard cam because it’s more realistic so I can properly exercise and use the experience when I compete in karting and hopefully one day also in rally!
Good stuff! That Samir bit took me out🤣 Just tried this track the other day. I play with bonnet cam and with all the bumps and elevation change, nearly knocked me dizzy. Good video as always, loving your content!
Haha glad you liked it mate 🤣 Yeah there’s a lot of variation to this stage, I really enjoyed making this video! Thanks for the kind words man, much appreciated 🤝
One of my favorite stages to let friends try a go at. I always drive inside because I feel the experience is much greater. Also I prefer steering wheel being hidden since I have my own wheel but for video it looks better. Unfortunately I burnt the motor up in my steering wheel last week so no more hooning for now 😢
nice video Storm 😍, your runs were faster but similar to mines😂 , first was slower but cleaner then you pushed harder on the second one ended up loosing more time.
Thanks mate! Yeah I’ll be honest, this was actually the first time I’ve ever driven this car, man it’s tough! 😅 There were definitely a few scary moments in these runs, and if you try to accelerate too much out of corners it just completely oversteers 😆
Good question - I haven’t played it in years so it’s hard to even remember tbh man! I used to just play it on a controller, I think I was pretty average at best to be honest 😅
In my opinion, the cockpit camera has the better sense of speed and is better in rally, I feel like in the chase camera, I take alot more risks cause I see better the environment. But the chase camera I mostly use in rallycross. Also, am I the only one who feels like the DiRT Rally shifting animation is better than 2.0?
Fair enough dude! :) Yeah I think everyone has their own preferences with the cameras, I do enjoy both for different reasons! I would need to go back and play the original DR to properly remember the shifting animation, but I do recall it being very realistic!
I play controller and usually alternate depending on what I feel like. Chase usually with calming music and more leisurely trips along New Zealand beachside
Nice, not a big time difference between the too. I am trying to learn cockpit cam now that I got a wheel and I am quite a bit slower (~10s in long stage) especially on loose surfaces. I also use a very small steering angle with chase cam (260 degrees) which feels very unnatural in cockpit sometimes, especially when I have driven my actual car that day for some time. What degrees do you use?
@@Storm_RX thanks for the info! Right now I am just doing some events in chase cam and some in FPV and it is quite messy at times. Also competing in a club where its forced cockpit now so there is that... Ideally I just want the next DR/WRC game and then I will fully commit to FPV with 450-540 degrees steering.
Sorry I will have more coming brother - I was just getting a bit annoyed with the throttle glitch but I think it’s been fixed now, so was planning some more videos soon 😁🤝
My co driver never calls me a champion, he says things like The track is over there, I don't have notes for this bit, and we have an engine issue. He is always mad and shaking his fist at me at the finish while my car is smoking and boiling away. 😂😂😂
😂😂 that stage was tough, but it felt fast. Lets check the times. I usually use group B cars, the Peugeot turbo Evo 2 is prefered, also the audio quatro, and LanCia delta. 😁😎
Would be cool to.see you play some beamng rally. They have piles peak, finland, italy, polish mountains, and alot of maps and custom rules, checkpoints for rally. It takes a good while to set it up and dial it in, but is so satisfying.
i dunno how you guys stomach chase cam, i find it horrible and easily finish ~10 seconds slower with it. seems horrible unsatisfying driving with it too.
Yeah it can be really difficult to drive in chase but I sometimes like to see/show people the car being driven - also the sound of the car from chase is usually better in my opinion 😁
You say you want see which will be faster? Cockpit Camera or Chase Camera? I mean, you use Porsche 911 SC RS from Group B (Rear Wheel Drive) with engine almost 300 big horse power, StormGT?
I stopped playing this game years ago because it doesn't feel good. Even watching the chase camera everything looks unrealistic. Dirt Rally 1 felt good. This game has some kind of hyped up chase camera constantly whipping around and zooming in and out as you hit the brakes. The Drifting looks terrible, and the cars are always banging off the edges of these incredibly skinny roads. Dirt Rally 1 is still a much better game in my opinion. Dirt Rally 2 does look better though, so i guess it has that going for it.
Did anyone notice Samir make an appearance in the second run? 👀🤣
yes i did towards the end
yeah i noticed, also do i have to do chase cam because its faster?
Nah not at all man, it’s really just down to each individual person - I just thought it was interesting for me personally how close the times were. On another day cockpit cam would’ve probably won!
I tend to do best in dash cam. I can't drive in chase cam at all if I use a wheel because it feels awkward, but chase cam I always use on controller.
