I'm actually surprised by how easy the titanium scratches. It is crazy how it is being sold as more durable, would love to see a comparison with the standard iPhone 15.
Titanium can be harder than stainless steel. It has to be heat treated in order for it to become tough. Looks like apple chose to not heat treat the titanium though.
titanium generally is stronger than steel, if it is titanium its likely thinner than the other material would be, or perhaps in the usual apple fashion, just like the sapphire camera lenses which are like 2% sapphire or whatever, this is an alloy of titanium and something else making it considerably softer. It's also worth noting something being stronger doesn't mean its harder, and something being harder doesn't mean its stronger. Hardened steel for instance is considerably harder than mild steel, but tends to shatter and break rather than bend and stretch as mild steel would. And again it could also be thinner making it equally as strong with less material.
Techrax always is straight-up and legit about everything! I love how he actually tests the phone based off how people use it. Not go straight into hardcore testing that people would generally not be doing with the phone. 🤭💖👍

For those of you who are wondering why the titanium scratched that easy is because, the titanium is painted over, it’s the paint that really scratches up, I don’t know why Apple just didn’t go bare titanium like they did with the Apple Watch ultra.. or at least make it an option
@@infinte3606 I always thought technology has peaked. The truth is technology will keep advancing long after I'm dead. Anyway android can charge at 240 watt. Less than 10 minutes. From what I remember from my materials engineering course: the glass becomes more sensitive from continuous impact and the amount of potential pathways for cracks decrease so a lighter load following multiple heavier loads can cause it to crack even though the heavier loads earlier on didn’t. It’s also to say if your phone didn’t break from an initial drop, it doesn’t mean it can’t break later on from that same drop as it will be more vulnerable. Some of these details might be a little off so happy to have anyone correct me!
i remember i had s8 galaxy, fell 5 -6 times nothing happened to front glass but one day phone fell and back glas cracked, next time when my phone fell accidently it broke my screen
If you watched older iPhone "test" then you wouldn't feel like they were broken quickly with hammer, usually there would be a short moment praising the glass for not being broken yet. Anyway the strength of each hit is not calculated properly so eh everything could happen, just take this video as a grain of salt like you always should
I definitely prefer the stainless steel I think it looks better with the shimmer of the material and it clearly is much more scratch resistant compared to the titanium, which is more important than pure strength imo. And for me, I also prefer the phone to feel heavier in my hand as it gives a more premium feel. I’ll stick with my IPhone 13 Pro Max which is still a great phone anyways.

I was expecting to come back here and see he wasn't posting anymore, but I was surprised to see he's still kickin it. Love to see it.
Another possibility is that since the glass is modular, it's now easier to break, as it's no longer affixed to the back of the phone. The only silver lining here is that the back glass is now cheaper to repair than before. By Google 😂

Titanium can be harder than stainless steel. It has to be heat treated in order for it to become tough. Looks like apple chose to not heat treat the titanium though.
Or maybe it's just aluminum
It's probably the brushed finish and the anodized colours.
Could this be a security risk? I remember the times when I could securely drop my phone out the window.

The only reason they use titanium because it has no innovation. They had to slap something just to make it sounds cool.
