I had a chance to buy one loaded with all of the filters for just $800 and I passed and purchased a New ICOM 7610 because I’m hooked on the Spectrum Scope and I keep the Waterfall turned OFF at all times. The 775 DSP is an amazing radio but I need the Spectrum Scope.👍🎙
Can't beat the older trancievers. I had one of the last production runs of the Yaesu FT840. A basic radio but very capable set. Regret selling it to get a new one. That set is very nice. Enjoy David M0DUU
Agreed on superb RX. Unfortunately the early ones were very dirty on CW transmit… looks like there is no solution available to the public.. the later ones were fine.. have yet to find out what was changed😏
Hi Brenton I think you were running split and you were transmitting on the sub band ~ 7.150 MHz. Probably explains why you weren’t getting any replies. They are a lovely radio to listen to. Cheers Peter
Yeah, I figured that out too when he went to 10m. Actually he was transmitting all the time on 7.105,22 or 7.150 which explains why other stations that came to respond were a bit off frequency. Hi hi. These happens to us all, no kangaroos were harmed! Also the dual watch can make more backround noise if you have it on because it mixes two receivers to audio circuit. I have a IC-781 and this is kind of same era I think, I can see some similarities, nice radio, but never seen on here. Cheers from the OH-land, Santa Claus is soon visiting you also :)
My all time favourite Flagship fully flitered and CR-282 TCXO. 💯👌
Lovely old radio Brenton! Must consider getting something like this sometime, and the bit of paper to go with it! ;-) IF SDR as well!

Stunning radio. Would have it in a heart beat. 👍🇦🇺🥃
Love mine, but rarely use it theses days, as I have a Flex 6500, and Kenwood TS990, which I use most of the time.
Beatiful radio 💯

What's considered a "late model"? Mine is in the v-e-r-y high 1990's. Vry 73 de Me
Great Radio, I have an IC-736 HF+6m - same vintage I think. Thanks for the video.

I heard they have better receiver than the 7610
The Specs don’t agree but it’s no slouch for sure.
