not only against mishima. Steve is a killer against most characters. Knee's other characters can't beat lowhigh's Steve at tournaments. So knee used Steve himself against lowhigh in their last tournament match at ATL. At Pakistan, one of its top player Heera Malik is also a Steve user.
Jdcr is shit with devil jin thats all, he doesn't do well with every character he picks like knee but when playing a character he's comfortable with he is actually very good against steve. Check his tournament record against knee's steve. He even wrecked lowhigh's Steve in a recent exhibition.
Steve is a stupid character that has advantage over every character because of how insanely good he is for competitive play. We love movement in Tekken but good luck sidestepping against Steve because of his stupid tracking. Good luck trying any non high crushing move above i12 because at i13 you'll trade with his b1, which is spammable as heck. Good lucking trying literally anything above i15 because df2 being super abusable will always keep you in check. His stances have auto block, so there's literally no option to beat his stances either, especially PAB stance. People say his block punishment is bad, but look at it, his i10 standing is a triple high jailing, safe on block, and 29 damage for massive plus frames. His i11 ws is like 32 damage with +4 and force crouch. And his quick i14 whiff punish with sonic fang is very little risk compared to lets say Armor King or Feng's shoulder. He is braindead character and very hard to balance.

Devin Jin and Steve the two most overused characters in tournaments... I was hoping Season 4 would correct this and we would get to see some of the lesser user characters.
