Merveilleux retour Ricky ! Ton départ à jamais a laissé un grand vide dans mon cœur ! Quelle merveilleuse époque tu as incarnée et qui fut une des meilleure de ma vie d'adolescent...! R.I.P. Ricky ! Claude Adam.
Great song Ricky Nelson has a deep beautiful voice, good guitar player a singer nobody can compare to just like Elvis they were one of a kind two that were taken way to soon Ricky Nelson great performance one of his greatest concert performance I love you Ricky Nelson😎🤘🤘❤🌷🌷🎸🎸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
what a talent. Ricky had a joyous quality about him - and an ease in his manner. he and Buddy Holly had some things in common. So sad he has been gone so many years. but what a legacy!
Oh how I loved Rick Nelson!! He will always be thought of fondly by me. I met him face to face once and he was most gracious and friendly. I'll always remember that night.

Ricky was great .My first concert. Age 5, steel pier in Atlantic city , sitting on my dads shoulders in 1960 . Doesn't even seem real Now. Reel ahead now 50 years and my wife, son (musician age 21) and I are big fans of Ricky's kids life sure is a paradox sometime ... peace Ricky
we used to love to watch the Ozzie & Harriet show but I was in love with Ricky and just knew one day I would marry him. Alas it was not to be. But to this day I still crush on him everytime I hear his song or see a picture of him. He is stll great in my book.
like i said before thanks for sharing!! i am 54 i remember seeing him on tv as a young girl thinking he was so handsome and in all the years he never changed. I miss him dearly!!
My Rick Nelson favorite .. Ever since the first time I saw him do this on Oz &Harriet ... I knew I had to get my ass in gear , to play guitar .. I could sing .. Just needed to pick up the guitar quickly ..
Rick Nelson was one of my favorite singers of all time but did anyone notice that he must've accidentally opened with the 2nd stanza first and ended up having to repeat it. Mistakes like this happen-he covered it up like a pro...R.I.P.
It’s not a mistake. I saw another comment in which someone stated he never sang the first stanza of this song ever in concert! Why...I don’t know. 🤷🏻♀️
Ricky wasn't on a jet. It was an old DC3, one of the first commercial passenger planes. That model of airplane was the first I ever flew in way back in the 1950's.
Look at how dead the audience is, he could almost be singing in a cemetary. Its very hard to play to a crowd like that. He was a hell of a trooper thats for sure.
Ricky Nelson was a fantastic performer. He had a great voice. Chose a great guitar player to back him up, Jim Burton. He sold 65,000,000 records. Too bad he died tragically Decemeber 31,1985, and never got his due as a strong influence in Country Rock with "The Stone Canyon Band". Rick went far beyond "Poor Little Fool"
His twins inherited his Grammy with the names of the Greats from Sun Records on it. On their channel on YT, Matthew shows it during his Matthew Monday’s during 2020/2021.
Bobby does a great job of covering the parts that James invented, but I would have liked to hear him on a Tele, which has more low-end bite than the strat.
Sad, all those people there in the Stone Canyon Band and Rick burned to death because of a stupid cabin heater/electrical problem. Everyone but the background singers. I remember that New Year's R.I.P.
That wasn’t the case so said the flight investigators! Just before they left AL, one if the engines wasn’t working, too often a problem! This heater also! The band hated the plane & Rick had decided to retire it so no one would get hurt when he got home. Sadly, only the pilots made it out alive & the main pilot was berated for not knowing enough about the plane & pilot error! That pilot was fined! It was a DC-3, a cargo plane used in WWII!
hammerman7777 - Don't know where you've gotten your info ... it's been proven that the heater set the fire in the plane & that they were not free basing.
On this day in 1961 {March 20th} Ricky Nelson recorded "Hello May Lou"... Two months later on May 1st, 1961 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #9 and it spent 15 weeks on the Top 100... According to oldiescalendar(.)blogspot(.)com; Ricky's father , Ozzie Nelson, played tenor guitar at the recording session, and it was also the day of the elder Nelson's 55th birthday... R.I.P. Eric Hilliard Nelson {1940 - 1985} and Oswald Nelson {1906 - 1975}...
He wanted no part of that life style! Anyone who worked with Rick said no way was he a drug addict! They had played with drug addicts, especially the Jordanaires! They knew the behavior of one & Rick was most definitely not one of them! That statement was by singer, Gordon Stoker, tenor for The Jordanaires! Rick visited Elvis to see how he was doing, 3 weeks before Elvis died & Rick was so distraught at the shape Elvis was in, that his band members found him at the docks crying! He didn’t play that game. I think that’s why he turned down playing Vegas steadily! He told his band he didn’t want to end up like that! And since he considered Elvis a good friend, he was quite hurtful when Elvis passed. He had said so on an interview. (This is from 2-3 tributes & an interview with his son, Matthew on radio & an older interview of Rick’s...all are currently on YT.)
@@leosun3203 pilot error (pilot was fined) & a faulty heater & really, earlier that day one of the engines wasn’t working. Rick was going to retire it once he got home. All his band members hated it. Sadly, they never made it home. One more flight to CA after the one that killed them.
Merci pour ce partage en live
J'adore la voix de ce chanteur
Magnifique chanson

I would’ve never ever washed my hand.
PJ’s in Guntersville, AL? I heard all 3 shows were packed! I’m glad you got to see him & Shake his hand before he left. ♥️

crap I wish he was still alive. I saw his twin sons perform they did nice tribute to their dad. Excellent show.

That guitar solo “rivals” JB’s with a few extra bends. The great Bobby Neal🎸❤️
the drums are such an endurance piece to play. love that cowbell!

Blijft een leuke song...for ever young!!!
legend in every sense of the word!
What a tragic loss it was when we lost Rick.
Talented man
Ricky was my first crush! I loved his songs always! I was in love with Elvis, also! My two favorites growing up!
James burton brilliant, and Ricky
My father is playing guitar. w/Rick 79 - 85.
Really sorry. Your dad was a great guitar player. Such a shame what happened to those guys.
Your Dad was such a nice man! I was very close with Rick Intveld. Horrible day!! Such a tremendous loss
Fantastc Rick!!!!... Forever young !!
Ohh, he was fun at the Orange County Fair Grounds in Costa Mesa, CA. Saw him EVERY YEAR when he came down...LOTS OF FUN! ; )
I envy you, wish I had seen him live! How was he like?
WOW! Lucky girl! I never saw him once!
His voice never failed, and his looks never failed him. It was a faulty heater BTW that brought the plane down and not due to drugs
How would anyone have known his music and fans would last a life time... I bet none of these bands today will ever do that!!!
@gibbsfanatic I am 66 so I was a fan form the beganing 1950's
ricky you must have been a very special man.
nice takamine law suit guitar up front. perfect strat playing from bobby neal... a legend in my book.
we have the impression that the guitarist Bobby Neal is his brother as they look alike.
what talented artists, singer and musician!!
I like how his songs are around 2 minutes long.
Tolles Lied !
I love Ricky Nelson
This song was 50 years ago no.8 in the german year-end-charts #ricky #nelson
Great classic ! i like it
I loved you, Ricky!! xxxooo
a51hawks I couldn't agree with you more. These were the greatest time for music. It's really sad what music has become, especially that rap crap.
The lead guitar player is outstanding...had the lead ride almost note for note with James Burton.
My father

❤ fine music .

Thank you!
i was lucky enough to meet him 6 weeks before he died .

NICE!
I watched his news broadcast the night laid in the hospital bed having my first born 25 years ago
Vintage strat tone. What a player.

Think one of my drummers used his cowbell, when we did this, but I can't remember which one?
I was watching celebrity ghost stories and his daughter was on an episode
i saw him in 1985 england a place called harrogate yorkshire ..it looks like that show i was at
How cool is that! Happy you got to see him in concert!
Bobby Neal ... unfortunately was one of the band members killed in plane crash ... he was fantastic.
Sadly...and, He really was!
Genial...!!!!
Rick just didn`t seem to have it ...R.I.P. Rick..
glad to see the new guitarist didn't attempt to copy james burton but played his own style.
😍😍😍😍😍
Ricky the king of country!!!
reminds me of rick perry

Why god took this wonderful man...
Dec 31 1985
It was a broken heater.
@Ssssstones I don't usually like that word but in this case I HAVE to agree with you and look at the others that have gone the same way. SO SAD

dam good drummer and of course Ricky is a sgood as ever
That's Ricky Intveld, James Intveld's brother. Ricky died in the same plane crash togheter with Ricky Nelson 26th December 1985.

He never sang the first stanza first in concert, is what another commenter said under another video of one of Rick’s concerts.
@backwoodsbamaboy92 Let me know if you find the answer. Holley, Richardson(Big Bopper), Valens, Redding, CROCE, Nelson...
My name ois Marie lou :3
to forget the lyrics is better than to play playback...
I read he did that at every concert with this song. It’s not a mistake. It’s a judgment call.
