With emotion, amazement and admiration I enjoyed this special performance of this wonderful fourth Brandenburg Concerto. What a job to work out the score so carefully and to play, record and beautifully combine all those different parts into one credible concert! My compliments for this tour de force and many thanks for this special concert.
You've outdone yourself yet again. This is now my favorite performance (in any arrangement) of my favorite Brandenburg. I love the clarity and brightness and pep. I wish JSB could hear this.
I love how you've pulled the solo violin part into a shape to fit the recorder's range better: it brings a fresh zing to the melody: just like JSB would have done- another victory! I know I said 6 is the greatest, but 4 is a close second- but it IS the prettiest of the 6. Violin and 2 recorders was on Bach's part an unlikely grouping of soloists, but he did it brilliantly: the recorders are really one part in conversation with the violin. I adore your perfomances!
Hi James, probably your best performance with recorder ensemble. Many congrats for the tecnic, the sound, the crystallinity of your execution. Chapeau!
Brilliant! Love your performance of the violin part especially. I have always loved B4, and am always looking for good recordings of the Brandenburgs. I think you have just bested them all. Oh, and I’m totally jealous of that contrabass. 😂
Hi Mr. Howard! I just logged into my RUclips and found this! So glad to hear this song, and about 2 mins in, youve played beautifully (especially those high notes in the arpeggios. I cant seem to hit them on my recorder :( Overall, the recorders sound crystal clear and I like the initiation youve used! You should try to use a Pan to put the 1st recorder on the left and the 2nd recorder on the right! I remember looking at the score and Bach wrote ir for Echo Flutes, I wonder how ir would sound if they were panned! Wonderful job and thank you for continuing with this series of the brandenburgs! Happy holidays to you and your family and keep on playing!! (Ive uploaded some alto recorder channel songs on my channel too! It would be an honour for you to give me some critique on how I can play better! Id really appreciate it:) Thank you again!
Thanks for the comments! I will subscribe to your channel right away. I used some panning for the solo Recorders but didn't put them too far apart. It could be an interesting idea to put them at wide left and right like you say. Happy holidays!
Yes! Can you do please Mozart - Serenade #9 for Recorder Consort.
OK but can we just take a moment to appreciate how freaking epic that violin solo was please!? absolutely breathtaking!

A real tour de force! Congratulations on such an impressive demonstation of virtuosity.
This is why owning just one recorder is never enough :-) Chapeau!
Jaw drop... I guess I won't be able to hold a recorder anymore. Simply unbeliavable. Terrific.
Wonderful!
Love the recorder orchestra. Love the music and arrangement. Great job again. Thanks for sharing.
