I love how the show demonstrates Lucifer's misunderstood nature, while still pointing out the fact he is very flawed. Tom Ellis does the role perfectly! He even speaks the "Lord's English" which I found to be a nice touch. Also, seeing Chloe's kid say his name while hugging him with a big ass smile in the pilot, that pissed off A LOT of conservative parents. Then again it's no secret that the devil has brass balls.
