Even though her character was meant to be mostly comic relief, her obsession with Chizuru was a bit disturbing, and the pressure she appeared to be putting on Kazuya to find a girlfriend asap was clearly causing him great stress. The guy clearly has some issues with self confidence that it will take time to work out. Rushing into a relationship with someone who is not right for him, for the sake of making his grandma happy, will only lead to him or others getting hurt.
renting a girlfriend in Japan it is relatively normal because too many people don’t have relationships and this kind of service helps them to get confidence in getting into a relationship. So the job is considered normal there, but for the rest of the world yeah it’s insanity, and also one of the main reasons why people don't get married (having children out of wedlock is frowned) is because it's super expensive to start a family in Japan. I doubt paying for some hand holding is going to help their financials.

This rental service can actually introduce people to each other, and get some genuinely good dates. Even if they don't have a relationship, they can learn the things people need to do for dates and to be in a relationship through the rental girlfriend service, and eventually, can use it for another girlfriend.
