- Join me as I show you how I interpret the week 3 project from @k3n.clothtales - a patchworked piece depicting my interpretation of ‘diversity’ in stitchery.
My week 3 piece is now complete and I’ve really enjoyed the process of thinking about my interpretation of diversity in stitching and revisiting some of the varied processes I’ve used in the past and that have brought me to now. Using embroidery, cross stitch, ‘applique’ (in this instance applying a piece of fabric as a way to preserve it) and kantha, all stitched onto a patchwork of vintage fabrics - everything I love on a small stitchery to be treasured and included in my journal 🌸
I now have a Facebook group where we can share all things slow stitch. I’d love to see your projects too.

That is so very pretty I like it. Your stitching is very awesome. I love your pretty book it is amazing.
Thank you 🌸
Oh you have some app-plee-kay pins 😂 saw the photo of this finished in the FB group so now settling down to watch you make it ❤
Those pins are a revelation - I didn’t think I’d get on with them, being so small, but the opposite - I’m hooked 😊
Love it will have to make one myself won't be as good as yours but will try, Thank you for sharing
I’m sure it will be just as good - give it a go, as long as it’s something you love, it will be beautiful 🌸
I love every little thing about this, Sally. Simply lovely. 🤍
Thank you so much Julie, I really enjoyed doing this project and so happy how it turned out 🌸
I really like these swatches your doing. I copied your weaving square, and made thee log cabin block today. (My 1st square of a log cabin ever).
Still have to decorate it, but when I'm done I'm going to do this one also. So enjoying your channel
Thank you so much Darlene 🌸
So I just had to come watch your process of this challenge and I’m glad I did. Lovely to hear your journey of stitching. I too started with doll clothes but with knitting. Still have the first little coat I knitted when I was about eight… and the doll! Like me the are both very vintage (antique almost 😂). The four patch you stitched for the background was perfect! I had to draw lines for mine and I still couldn’t stitch straight on it. Love all of it! And like I mentioned on you IG post, I like your interpretation of this prompt!❤
Thank you so much for your lovely comments Elly 🌼
Such fun hearing your stitching history and see your new WIP.
Thank you so much 😊
Oh that’s lovely , if I knew I’d have the time a wouldn’t mind having a go myself . Umm no , no no, no I will just have to watch you and be happy with that . TFS Sally xxx
Haha, I’m a sucker for taking on more projects Pat - I just can’t resist 🌼
So adorable!
Thank you so much Cathie 🌸
That is also inspiring to me. You are just pushing all of my stitching buttons! Lol thank you. Hugs ❤
😊 thank you so much x
Your book will be lovely. Don't make any decision on the left hand pages until you see how it all comes together. It doesn't look like it will be too thick with swatches on both sides, so maybe . . .
Thank you Robin - you’ve got me thinking now…..perhaps I should just paperclip them to the pages for now to see how it fills out 🌼
I’m so glad you are not unpicking your squares - part of slow stitching seems to be accepting of what the fabrics want to do 😍
I’m glad you’ve said that Betty, once I’d stuck it in my journal, I also noticed that I’d stitched the silk flowers on upside down! Oops 😊
