This is done with the Mortal Kombat 2 Challenger Hack Version of the Arcade ROM.
It reacts differently than the original MK2 ROM. Basically, rather than it freezing your character after the uppercut for the Deadpool Pit, it allows for free movement. Making other glitches possible.
You don’t even have to hold LP + LK. You can simply uppercut and it it will activate the pit animations.
