There is a problem: In the end, the 10mm thickness only has a point of tangency with the cylinder; so that the curve should move a few millimeters until the entire curved part intersects the cylinder. You just have to make a small adjustment. Good video. Thank you.

At first I dont have any idea with regards to this software we only used Autocad when making 2d and 3d until I went to the company and they introduced me about Catia. Its more easy to make 3d mechanical works hehe..

Thank you for the tutorial. There are some advantages over Solidworks in terms of function however I prefer the UI of Solidworks over Catia and one thing Solidworks does is inform the user if their sketch is undefined or overdefined so they may adjust their constraints accordingly. Catia I feel the user has to add in the constraints manually every time. They are both very similar in process though.

At 5:11 when you're adding thickness with the pad function, catia always says there's open profiles or geometry used or contruction. I believe i'm missing something. Are you deleting something where the 2 parts come together?
Can you please explain what you did at 4:00 with the Project 3D Elements tool? You clicked on what appeared to be the left corner, but I lost track of what happened. I didn't see the window on your screen indicating what you selected for Element(s) to project and Near Element.

I have problem in Catia V5 on the end,when i want to shape that curved line with Stiffener,edge of line cannot be long as it should be,it don`t allow me
So, First apply project curve on the Edge. Then creat line for stiffener.

How do you not click constraint every time you want?
I cannot keep it "clicked" until I'm finished with it

If you want to get Constrains on any objects when draw, Just turn on "Geometrical constrains" and "Dimensional constrains" in 'Sketch tools' Tool bar
Try to double click on the constrain icon

I noticed that you can keep applying a particular command just by clicking it and pressing some key or something. For example, you can apply dimensions at once, unlike in my case where I have to keep on clicking the command. How do you do this?
Double click on the icon of the command and it will not turn off after using it one time.

Instead of the loud unnecessary music (which may not be pleasant to all viewers) and all those loud mouse click sounds, give a narration of your steps and selections during the process. Users can not follow some of the actions that are performed too fast and with no feedback to know what was being done or where to get it. If you don't want to talk then use captions and descriptions.

At 5.07 when I come to do the pad it comes up with the error, the sketch contains several open profiles or some geometry used for construction, I have tried it several times and get the same error, how to get past this, thanks.

How do you click on circle once and keep getting it all the time. 2:55 to 3:00 I have to go back to the circle option again for drawing another circle.
Just double click on circle tool for multiple use. (Not only circle, If you want to multiple use just double click on that tool )

how to center the coordinates to the objects... if i mirror i cant center it... i have to draw a reference line..
In my laptop I have to choose every time to select any option for example if I select line it doesn't stick I have to choose it again and again so please help me out in this issue
you have to double click on to the command to have multiple drawing
Thippeswamy V double click the option -- option gets highlighted-- u can then use it multiple times

i can't even get the constraints at 0:48 .i selected all the three vertical lines and then hit the constraint button but it just doesn't works
i drawed the top view sheet and pad too . but in side view i drawed all as shown in video, not able to pad it . it shows "the selected sketch contain several open profile or some geomentry used for construction"

The problem I'm having is that I can't get the program to use what I'm learning in tutorials. It used to be easy to get a copy and it wasn't a big deal because, what the hell are you going to with a copy at home anyway other than use it to learn the program? Some have used them commercially and screwed it up for the rest of us. I just want to use it. I know, with tutorials like this, I could teach myself the rest. I've got 9 years of drafting experience, a lot of it with AutoCAD and I'm getting tired of going and taking refresher courses. I did that 7 years ago and the economy didn't pick back up until recently. I'm not taking Catia AND Solidworks AND Unigraphics. I'm just not doing that. If anyone has any ideas on how to use copies of the software I'm all ears. I downloaded a demo of Solidworks and come to find out it was only a 2 day deal. Not how much time you use before it expires, it was closed in two days! LOL I'm not buying the damn thing just to learn it either.
why after i used quick trim the sketch was changed color from green to white?
