Anyone notice how Archie and Betty's relationship (whether platonic or romantic) has always been mutually beneficial? They were always there for each other; it was never just about one person. If Archie needed someone, Betty would gladly be there, and vice versa, regardless of what either of them were going through.
I'm not sure if they planned on writing their characters this way, but Veronica and Jughead have always seemed a little too selfish/impulsive to be in a relationship.
Veronica constantly uses Archie to solve her problems and gets frustrated when he isn't there for her immediately. Even when she "helps" him, it feels like she only does it to give herself a pat on her own back. Archie always gets roped into her issues.
Jughead is constantly comparing his problems to Betty's and acting like he's so different from her. It's like he's frustrated with being with someone who wants to do nice things for him, and instead of talking to her about it, he lashes out super fast. (Not that Betty and Archie are saints; it just seems like their relationships bring out the worst in them rather than the best). I love them all as a friend group, but the relationships in this show have always deterred me from binge-watching it. It just gets so annoying.
I won't be mad if Betty and Archie form a romantic relationship, but I'm still disappointed that they went through the cheating route again.
Also, if the show ends with Varchie and Bughead... jesus christ. If they don't go through with Betty and Archie, they just need to end these relationships at least. Imagine Veronica and Jughead's reactions when they find out their respective partners kissed... AGAIN??

Another edit: Another thing I noticed after making this comment; how many times has Betty saved Archie in this show? Risked everything to protect him? How many times has Archie saved Betty? Hell, he even risked being buried alive for her. Compare this to how many times Veronica has "saved" Archie or Jughead with Betty... yeah it was definitely written this way lol. Most of the time when Veronica and Jughead are "saving" their partners, it's saving them from the mess they created on their own.
Why does Archie go to Betty whenever he needs help with something serious instead of Veronica?
Again, not hating on Jughead or Varchie because this doesn't need to be romantic; it's clear that Archie and Betty's relationship has always been stronger/healthier (even if it's just a friendship).
You are very well informed and have presented valid points. Although I really r e a l l y want Barchie to be official, they went about it the wrong way. They should’ve told Jug and Ronnie, even though they wouldn’t like to hear it. Although these two can be a bit self centered and selfish, they don’t deserve to be cheated on. However, Barchie is just the least toxic couple out of the three, so I’ll still be happy if they get together. Sadly, the core four might be split up, this is one of the only caveats for me. I respect you, truly.

About Verônica and Jughead reactions, they always knew. Jughead grow up with them knowing their love for each other. The first scene with Jughead on the show was Archie saying is sad for left Betty upset and Verônica arrived on the Riverdale and the first thing she knew was about Betty feelings by Archie and even so, kissed him when had the oportunity

I'm not happy with the show since this is the second time they started presenting the idea of Barchie with cheating. And I agree with the statement that Barchie is the least toxic. It also has to do with their years of friendship; I mean, they've known each other since they were toddlers and already have a "romantic" history (Archie proposing to Betty when they were little, Betty having a crush on Archie). They'll probably see it coming, but it's going to hurt like hell... especially since this has happened before and their partners told them it wouldn't happen again and that their first kiss didn't mean anything. Jughead and Veronica allowed themselves to trust Archie and Betty again... and then this happens.

The scene represent all the sexual, emotional tention that the had and have. I mean, cheating is BAD…but Archie and Betty will never done that, they never planed this way. I used to think if they got together theyre would be dangerous like red paladin and dark betty but seeing this and analyzing their friendship and the relationship they have with Jughead and Veronica, Barchie is the most healthy relationship in the entire show. Those writers...still terrible but they redeem themselves with how they’ve handled Barchie by now. There is so much slow burn and build up, they don’t actually rush as they usually do. I’ve loved this song for 10 years, and since I didn’t catch up on the last episodes and didn’t know what was happening I was literally glued to the screen. And you made those new scenes perfect with that song and the voiceovers and omg!!!

I feel like Archie never acknowledged his feelings until that moment you saw him get a bit jealous when Jughead put his arm around her, and after that he just pushed them away. You could tell that there was a slow burn because every time they kissed there was passion, and they’d always do anything for each other. I’m glad that they’re getting a chance even if it’s only for a few episodes...
A few reasons to ship Barchie:
-Arch is wayyyyy better then Archiekins
-They trust each other the most (Betty told him about the blackhood, Archie called her when his Dad got shot and asked her to take care of him when he goes to Jail)
-The window scenes
-Archies looks at Bughead(There are so many)
-They don‘t wanna hurt Jug and Veronica, but when they Both broke up and had a big fight they went to each other
-They ALWAYS treat each other with respect and love
-The only ones that talked about there kiss and were saying That it was just a stupid kiss where Jug and Veronica because Betty and Archie knew that it meant something (About the car kiss)
-How gentle he is with her, he‘s never like this with Veronica and their relationship is based on looks
-Betty and Jughead are almost step siblings and share a brother
-Archie said she was to good for him
-The Night were it all went wrong, was the night were Veronica came to Riverdale and he rejected Betty♥️
-When Betty talks about them being friends and how nice it is really seemed to hurt him
-Archie said the only Thing he regrets about the night they caught blackhood was That he didnt Shot him...So he didnt regret the kiss
-The texting scene
-Their hugs
-After they cheated and were in an emotional disaster they still smiled at each other when they were dancing

Damn, watching this now I just get this feeling that through all the mess that this show's been and all the crazy storylines, Barchie is the only thing that seems right. It's hard to explain but their relationship embodies everything I would have loved and expected this show to be: a lovely teen show. Like season 1. Riverdale lost itself when it started trying to be a show that it could never be but looking at Barchie's history (together, definitely not Betty and Archie as separate individuals) they remain the only "sane" part of the "madness" that Riverdale's become.

All of the best romantic relationships are based out of friendships. Archie and Betty have been best friends for years. And both the source comics and the show Archie and Veronica I have more of a lust relationship. Although, there is nothing wrong with lust, that is what their relationship is almost entirely built on. I try to ignore bughead as much as I can because Jughead is cannonly aroace and I am pissed that every day decided to make him straight. That was a bad move so their relationship is aphobic and sucks. I grew up on the comics and Barchie was always my favorite ship.

Since the kiss, I never really knew how much I shipped Barchie until now. Barchie have more than an attraction, they are so gentle and sweet around each other. most of the time, it just feels like varchie is being intimate with each other, and barchie even as a friendship imo is better than varchie together. i do love bughead, they are cute, but i think barchie deserves this. but if that happens, what does that mean for Jughead and Veronica? I'm very happy that Barchie happened. Yes, I know they cheated but I was waiting four series for this moment. I have to say that I don't like the behavior of Bughead fans because we Barchie fans watched Bughead for almost the whole four series and we had no problem with it and we didn't spoil the joy of the bughead's moments.
I don't think this is the end because in my opinion Betty has chosen an easier way not to hurt anyone and by burning her diaries she will forget about Archie. I don't know if the feelings they build all their lives just disappear with the diaries. My opinion. This war of ships must end. We are all fans of riverdale no matter who ships. xxx
superb edit, like amazing. barchie has been getting so much hate lately, and honestly i don’t get why! ok, they should probably have not cheated on their respective partners but i mean since the begging we KNEW there was something between these two, and their relationship was obviously going to be explored sooner or later. and the way archie realizes he has always loved her when they sang together !!! plus let’s not forget it’s just a tv show and none of the actors deserve hate or threats! as a fervent bughead shipper i actually think it’s time for barchie to have a chance!
