Archie and Betty were ALWAYS meant to be, in my opinion. They were completely inevitable on this show. They gave us multiple hints and foreshadow throughout the four seasons that it would be explored at some point and honestly, it’s deserved. It’s not fair, nor realistic for teenagers to be dating the same person their entire life, like come on. Archie and Betty has had by far, the healthiest friendship and dynamic on the show. Granted, they just cheated on their boyfriend/girlfriend but Vughead did the same on 2x14 in the hot tub so I’ll excuse it this once, lol. I don’t know how people don’t see the chemistry between these two because it’s amazing. The feelings they have for one another will never go away and I just hope and wish that they actually let them date at some point even if they’re not endgame because barchie fans deserve it for our impeccable patience but also because it’d be pointless baiting, if not. This show hasn’t been entertaining since mid season 2 and it’s about time things start to be shaken up because it was boring and repetitive within the relationships. Sometimes I feel like people only still ship Bughead so much because of the actors dating in real life. If they weren’t, would it be so hard to let go and be at least open to new things? Hm. Anyway, I hope the writers don’t let social media folks sway them away from this storyline because I always had a vibe that’s why Bughead lasted longer than it probably would’ve originally. They probably didn’t know how big and popular of a ship it would become. It seems to me that the powers to be listens to fans a lot because they’re scared of losing viewers and I understand paying attention to your audience but it needs be at an extent so you make sure you’re not losing your OWN vision for YOUR show. The producers and writers always seemed like they wanted to explore barchie but the backlash was a lot and I’ll never know why. People have so much hate for Barchie without even knowing what they’re like as a couple and it’s ridiculous. Archie and Betty seem like true love to me. Not just because they’re best friends but because they’re literally each other’s person. They can talk to each other about anything. They trust each other with everything and most importantly, they have feelings for each other that have NEVER gone away even when they fell in love with different people. I don’t understand how some people consider themselves Jughead and Veronica fans but want them in relationships with people who are always gonna have underlining feelings for someone else. There is a reason Bughead and Varchie fans hate Barchie with a passion. Because they see it as a threat because of the amount of foreshadow throughout the series. Jughead and Veronica are always gonna be insecure in their relationships when it comes to Archie and Betty’s friendship. That’s never gonna change and once they find out about their latest kiss, it’s only gonna prove why. Archie and Betty deserve a chance to explore those feelings for each other and we deserve to see them as a couple for once. We were patient as hell while other fandoms mocked us for being “delusional” and it’s our turn goddammit. I hope the writers ignore the exaggerated backlash and see that they’re doing a good thing by exploring a new pairing even if it doesn’t start in the best way. I totally agree with you, I really love Archie and Betty's relationship and I wish they had more scenes in the first half of this season so we could have seen even more of a build up for this moment ! I truly hope that the writers won't get bullied by Varchie's and Bughead's fans to stop Barchie from happening. One thing that i always resented was that we had to watch the same relationship for four seasons and i am really happy to see some change ! But I also hope that the relation ship won't be born out of cheating I hope they will get together next season so that the other relationships can end properly and this one can start the right way, we've been waiting too long to be disappointed !
Finally!! It’s been building since the beginning! Even when Archie got attacked by that bear and he hallucinated and asked where it all went wrong and it was Betty in her pink dress. Their relationship is genuine and built on a real connection, bughead and varchie were unhealthy and quite toxic really.

I love the moments that flowed with the songs and transitions to that current kiss building up to that moment and showcasing their history that what as always been there between them. I feel they are finding their hearts are finally at the right time and place despite being with other people. I wonder how it will all turn out. I just feel its time for them to be something more and the show can't go on with the same all the time or stories get stale and boring. So this happening just feels right.
