    I enjoy all your videos but as someone who is both a firefighter and an urban explorer, I really loved this one. Since they were wearing gear, I'm assuming it was a training exercise. The sounds made it seem like they were practicing for situations like being trapped in a room during a fire and having to break through a wall to escape. As for the drums and such, a little goofing off when outside of the public eye is not unheard-of. Keep up the great work!

      Perfectly normal. I was a firefighter, trained in abandoned buildings plenty of times. I took lots of cool stuff. I know in urbex that's a big no no, but we simply don't care. Everything inside the building is going to landfill sooner or later, or it's going to get trashed by tresspassers. I took lots of stuff from abandoned buildings. Antiques, electronics, stuff important to local history cause I knew that I could find someone who'd want it and look after it (stuff like boxes of photo slides or VHS tapes of community events and stuff). As far as I am concerned, all that stuff is going to landfill along with the entire building once it gets torn down, or if a new owner buys it they're just gonna throw everything they find in the trash before they refurb it. Everything in these buildings where I am from is considered to be hard waste. It may as well be someone who will appreciate these items who takes them, and I always figured that might as well be me or my squad mates, and if we didn't want the stuff, maybe someone we knew did, or maybe our kids would like a cool drum or something.
      Those drums are absolutely something I would have gone for way back when and that firefighter's reaction was not at all surprising to me. I'd frequently see stuff and say "I'm taking that.". I got a whole collection of guitars from a deceased persons (long abandoned) house once, some of them very old and all in good nick. One of my squad mates told me about them before we even arrived cause he'd been there before and said "it's your lucky day, mate, you're going home with a shitload of new guitars tonight" lol. No family to take them, nothing, all of it was destined for the skip bin later that week in fact and some of them I knew were good guitars, plus I'm a guitar player so you bet I wouldn't allow them to go to landfill. I think the old dude who paid good money for these things would be at least a little happy knowing his instruments that he enjoyed so much are in good hands and still being cared for and enjoyed rather than just thrown into landfill like garbage.
      As for smashing up the place, we did that too. Not just to be vandals, but because we were training. If we had to break windows we broke windows to learn about making entry and exit points, if we had to learn how to use a halligan bar then we'd turn a door into splinters. Again, if we are given permission to train in these buildings its because their days are numbered and everything is already garbage in the eyes of anyone with any stake in the property. Damaging a building that is scheduled for demolition in order to develop potentially life saving skills is worth it in our eyes.

    • @KagomeMorino
      @KagomeMorino Год назад +18

      Definitely firefighters😂 they were just training. They often use abandoned buildings to use the heavy duty equipment. Jaws of life and the giant grinder, cutter they use to cut you out of cars.
      They do this to make sure everyone knows how to use their equipment.
      Same with the axes and such. They will gear completely up and go ham on the walls (imagine having never done it and suddenly being in a burning building)
      Just like how the police use the buildings for training so do the firefighters.

    This was fun to see Harding was my old high school I graduated in 2007 it’s sad to see it in that condition but it was awesome to see inside it again it never changed it still looks the same some of the art work in the hallways are new to me and obviously all the destruction caused by scrapers which is sad to see but other then that it still looks the same as it did in 2007. Thank god you guys didn’t get caught by Bridgeport firefighters no doubt they would have called the police on you guys. It’s good that people like you guys record the school before it gets torn down because from what I understand that is the plan the city is going to tear it down and the hospital next door is buying the property.

    I attended this school from 1972-1976. I have good memories of high school days. It’s terrible that the city allowed the school to remain stocked, fall into disrepair and then vandalized. What a terrible waste… I’m glad that I left the city where I grew up… Bridgeport . I graduated on a Friday in June, 1976 and headed off to college out of state the very next day. If the city does this with their valuable resources, I’m certain that I made the right decision to leave.

    Shame on whoever was responsible for leaving all that perfectly good school supplies to go to rot. There are a lot of struggling schools in third world countries that would have been glad to have it. There also doesn't seem to be much wrong with the building even after being abandoned for 5 years which makes me wonder why they had to close it in the first place. Let me guess, some school official with connections to the company that got the contract to build the new school claimed it was full of mold

      These people that made this are rude. they didn't save a vintage goosebumps book for me the place it was at was going to be demolished, it was a huge waste. It was a book I don't have

      @illburnmyselfforreal how does that make us “rude”? Just because you were introduced and would have stolen that exact book from here doesn’t mean thats the case for everyone else. Although we know of probably all the books in there We found no interest in them.

    The school closed because it cost more money to try to fix it than it would to build a brand new one. So that's what they did a few blocks away. The city says it was supposed to be cleaned out by the BOE but a few months ago (after seeing a RUclips video of an explore) they realized it was in fact not cleaned out. I'm surprised it still has so much in it after it was brought to the attention of the city. I'm sure the parents were pissed the kids left their shoes.

      It's hard to get some city's to clean out a school building. It cost them money to that so they just let every thing waste way. When I was going to school and we moved to a new school across the street. the old building sat abandoned for a year till people started going into the building and throwing things from the school into the school yard. Then they tore it down.

    • @xXBlueTheCornSnakeXx
      @xXBlueTheCornSnakeXx Год назад

      @@JohnnyT002 The same thing happened to my school, After the new one opened it took quite a while for them to even look at the old ones [Including mine]. It still feels weird looking at an empty field where i had so many memories. At least they left the rock in the corner fence with the school name painted on it.

      It appears based on CT news I just seen the city actually appreciated seeing the videos. And never condemned those who went in an open door and recorded them instead they condemned the school board instead for leaving the mess. Pretty accountable governance in this regard.

    Great vid. It was better than watching any horror movie, because the terror was real. Have to admit I don't really do much urban exploration just because I'm too much of a coward and afraid of being caught. Really not much since being on the High Line in NYC before it was converted to a park. Still amazed nobody called the cops on me, being out in the open in the middle of Manhattan on a weekday afternoon. Surely thousands of office workers could have seen me from their windows.

    I'm only 20 minutes into the video but from what everyone is saying in the comments I'm glad that you guys were safe and didn't get caught. Also Mae I didn't think you were that old you're about the same age as my niece and both of you look really young and she's 28 I think she graduated in I believe in 2014 or 2015. Anyways I went to Orono middle/jr high school from 1985 to 1988 and this is in minnesota and this school kinda reminds me of the school I went to at orono. Mae I had the same problem as you about the locker location lol my locker was the farthest from my classes in middle/jr high school. I also want to say that my orono middle/jr high school was built in 1955.One more thing about the age thing and it's actually pretty funny my niece who is 28 get carded when she goes to bars and she really does look way younger than she looks and so do you Mae. I think she has had comments of her looking 19 or 20. I.t's been 36 years since I've been to my old school my last semester was in 1988 and I'm 50 going on 51 the end of next month of 2025. I know high schools and middle/jr high schools are different but at mine it was a gym/auditorium and at the middle /jr high school we had stadium seats in the gym that was pulled out for different events.
