Bro, you should pin this comment so it'll appear at the top so people will see it
I mean... it's not wrong: Neither translation is necessarily better, as it means both... - it just means she's emotionally in tatters.
I first played this game blind, didn't know I could finish without killing anyone. I kept accidentally killing toriel and reseting in attempts to save her and gave up. when flowey asked why killing her once wasn't enough for me, I closed my laptop out of shock.
I was shocked when the game closed itself multiple times while I was playing it only to realize it was an intentional part of the game. It was a rather freaky experience, but yeah, Flowey knowing what you did to Toriel even if you reset your save was interesting. I killed her first accidentally, after realizing what happened I restarted and he mentioned the fact that I regretted my actions but he knew what I did. It was kinda trippy.
@@jonp1952 Exactly, one of the mechanics explicitly says that monster names turn yellow when their health is low enough and was fighting Toriel based on that knowledge. When I hear Sans' story about meeting this old woman, I was devastated.
@@rauden340 I actually reset the game to save her(the save point was right before that fight so I was fine doing so). Then Flowey said that while I did save her, he knew what I did(killed her and then reset).
Flowey is amazing in this game. He’ll pop up randomly behind you at times and it’s nuts. The way the save mechanic works with him is great as if you replay the asgore fight over and over again, he talks to u a lot. Freaking love flowey
flowey is indeed a special sort of creepy

- Yet, she seems to have managed Toby's original goal, of treating the game normally at first, and then feeling bad.
Probably because she doesn’t speak English. Undertale is also not super popular or well known over there. A lot of people were complaining about backseating in chat but It is a non factor due to Rushia not understanding English comments.

@@mapachemapachemapache That doesn't necessarily mean that the Japanese Undertale audience acts the same way as the English side does. @@archmusher8237 i was there and rushia really is just putting off all of the backseating and only accepts suggestions to do her current objective. Have not got a chance to see her stream but I assumed she has been killing those that have been attacking her first up until this whole time. Honestly that is probably one of the best ways to experience this game for the first time. It really hits you towards the end and shows how much weight your actions have on the world around you.
That literally the intended way to play the game and why Toby Fox made Undertale. Make player actually face consequence of their killing unlike all those normal killfes rpg
@@eszee Exactly, which is why I don't get why people insist on the Hololive members doing pacifist first because yes you get the best ending, but it's not the same until you understand the weight of your actions during your first run.
@@SpareLs wait, why would they do that?
@@SpareLs you don't get why? Huh... Isn't it the norm that the Undertale fanbase just harasses every let's players and streamers into doing the pacifist route? Fairly sure it's common knowledge at this point and part of the reason why people point at the fanbase as toxic. Hell, it's why some let's players just dropped Undertale or refused to play it. A big RUclipsr to use as an example is Markiplier. Just dropped it because he felt a blind playthrough would not be what the very loud fanbase would want based on the reactions he was getting from his vids.
SpareLs honestly I don’t blame them all that much, only pacifist route gives you access to certain very important parts of the game and nobody knows if the streamer would like undertale enough for a second or third playthrough. they have to play it aware of the possibility they will need to do so multiple times

Im trying to make a pun regarding backseaters but I dont have any idea
I played Undertale back in 2016 with no information on it as a blind purchase. It was the best gaming experience I’ve ever had. I got a neutral ending and stopped it there. I didn’t know there was a pacifist or genocide run till I saw a few play throughs of it. Even then, I thought it would be a disservice to the maker’s vision to remake the fate I set up myself. I decided to not get the pacifist or genocide run and be content with the ending I got. Even though it wasn’t the best ending in the game, it’s the one my personal actions led me towards, and I’ll never take them back, even if I may regret them
@@jaymz2385 it sounds like you at least partially got the message of the game. The point of game is that player exhaustivness that is sticking around a game forever even after getting the story is a bad thing. Neutral playthroughs are fine even going back for the pacifist ending is fine but after that there's nothing good left in the game. Sticking around for the genocide ending is too far because your tearing down everything just cause. The arbitrary definition of good and evil with the complete disregard of neutral morality.
Man, she is god.
Thanks to Rushia's stream, I now know better why the Undertale community is considered as toxic
This urge to want to force streamers to act as they want because it is "the best way to end the game"
Well... Maybe it is the best way to end the game, but not to go through it.
And as someone who discover Undertale only through gameplays, I now see that Undertale was made to be played like Rushia did: without any indication
It amuses me how I can still discover things about a 5-year-old game, Undertale really is something
Yeah, the sudden relization that makes you go: ''wait, those monsters are just like your everyday people? and i just mercilessly killed them????'' that's a huge eye opening and what made unertale such a game changer and that experience is taken away by backseaters, that experience that ACTUALLY MAKES undertale such a great game.
the author intended the player to take the normal route, (only a few will take pacifist first)then try pacifist later. Also, the biggest issue is that toxic fans of undertale actually get mad and make a scene if you dont take pacifist.

Great answer
I don't hate this kind of answer, but I'm inclined to agree with Sans. Imagine if you had a unique superpower as a human, let's say it's the same power as the player, the ability to save and load. You, and you alone, have the power to change the world for the better. No one else can. Doesn't that make it your responsibility to strive for that goal?
@@_sstalker I agree that you shouldn't kill, but "change the world for the better"? It's a nice feeling but there's no such thing, whatever you decide to change is going to be wrong for someone, if you want to make the world better for yourself or someone else, okay, but don't lie to yoursef that you will make the world itself better, that's just hypocrisy
@@sinnerthesinful552 Yeah, there is such a thing as doing the world a better place if you have an overpowered ability like save and load. Sure, maybe you can't create an utopia where literally every single person is happy, but you can definitely have a huge positive change nonetheless. Either way, the point here isn't whether you'd be able to do it. It's about responsibility, and I truly believe someone in such a position should at least try to make things better, even if they failed in the end.
@@_sstalker On that front I believe no one has any responsability for something they didn't ask for, if you want to help people with it, great, if not you don't have to, if you didn't ask for that power no one can tell you what you can and can't do with it

And when i saw Rushia's reaction when Sans called her "Dirty Brother Killer", it hurts...
Keep in mind the G-route requires you to kill *a lot* of enemies. Like, you'd have to be intentionally grinding to get your level to maximum. I don't think it's possible to accidentally get that route.
It's even worse than "Dirty brother killer" in the japanese version. It says "But you, you piece of trash human, you killed my brother."
7:48 since rushia said "kokoro", I think this could also be translated as "My heart is already in tatters" which I think has a stronger feeling into it

Her speech is honestly heartbreaking but I assume it was a trick (don’t ask me why I also don’t know why I think of that on that time) until the undyne death speech came in I decided to spare the main characters but kill the side monsters because I thought it was some sort of farming monster where usually rpg game do. This game ain’t your typical rpg game. Toby Fox really did this well as an indie developer.
The First youtuber I've seen get that dialogue.
I can't wait to see her does G route. Not because Sans fight, but i want to see her reaction with all the changes in game when you activated G route.
well... that's what killing gets you
I always thought the first run someone should make is a true pacifist right away. Now I realize that through playing this game like you normally would (a neutral run) you already get pressured to reset and do a true pacifist route
