We visit Sotheby's Tiara Exhibition with 50 Royal and aristocratic tiaras on display. Plus, we get a rare glimpse of the Queens' coronation bibles. What was your favourite tiara? Let us know in the comments below. Thanks so much for being here.
My favourite tiara was the Derby tiara and the Primrose Tiara.
They are all so beautiful!! I like princess dianas tiara the most. Love them all!!! ❤❤❤
Me too! The Spencer Tiara has a peach coloured tinge to it in real-life that adds a warmth to the diamonds. Michelle
Wow, weren't they all just stunning. What a special thing to be so close to the Spencer family tiara 🧡 thanks for sharing this girls, was glorious 😍
Glad you enjoyed it! it was amazing to see the tiara's up close and see the craftmanship that goes into making these beautiful pieces.
All that sparkles. We had such an amazing time at the Sotheby's exhibition. Highly recommended. Plus those coronation bibles were spectacular.
My all time favourite is the tiara the queen wore on her wedding day
Queen Mary’s fringe tiara is a classic
So many Beautiful Tiaras 👑 The Spencer Tiara, and the Primrose Tiara were definitely my favorites! 🙂 It was so lovely to see all the Coronation Bibles as well ❤️
The details on the bibles were incredible
The Devonshire Tiara was spectacular! I had an amazing time at this exhibit as well, plus it was extra special to see artwork by Banksy, Canaletto, and Warhol also inside Sotheby's. I loved this whole tiara exhibit, plus paintings of various queens.
Can you believe it was free?! We would have paid money to see it!
Tiaras galore 💎
Gotta love a bit of sparkle 💎
The Devonshire tiara blew my mind! So gorgeous. I would be happy to be able to wear ANY of them of my wedding day!
I’d imagine they would feel quite heavy but I’d gladly take the burden 😂
Wow
The exhibition had some stunning pieces. It was such a treat to see them up close to notice all the details
Loved your video ! Thanks for identifying our company in your video !!
Everyone who was around us during the exhibition was marvelling at the engineering of the displays. Keep up the great work!
The velvet ribbon at the bottom is put there as the bare metal on the head can be uncomfortable. So the velvet softens it when worn. The ribbon is changed to match the colour of the wearers hair. "En Tremblent" means "trembling", that indicates that parts of the stone settings are mounted on springs in order for them to "tremble" on the springs when worn. This makes for an impressive lively display of sparkle while the head moves.
Thank you for this information Daniel! Still can’t believe this was a free exhibition. All the tiaras whether our tastes or not we’re spectacular & it was so clever that we could walk the whole way around the tiaras so we had a 360 view of these stunning pieces
Fabulous, thank u soo much for filming this for those of us that can’t attend this exhibit
Glad you got to come along with us!
I love them all & need to wear them! Lol ! Thanks for the beautiful video! I wish the grand ladies of the British Royal Family would wear Queen Victoria’s emerald tiara, that tiara would look so beautiful on Catherine!
That tiara isn’t in the royal collection unfortunately.
Beautiful presentation ladies. I love the Queens collection.
Thanks so much for your kind comment.
Really enjoying this video!!! They are all so beautiful!!! I just wonder how many are still privately owned.
From the information on the cards, a lot of them are still in the hands of the families that they have been passed down to.
The velvet wrapped around the base of any crown or tiara is for cushioning when sitting on the head.
It’s not rope at the base of the tiara’s, it’s velvet ribbon that is wrapped around the metal base. This usually closely matched the wearers hair so you can’t see the metal base. It makes the tiara much more comfortable to wear.
The metal base is wrapped in velvet ribbon to match the wearer’s hair. That way the frame wouldn’t stand out. Camouflage if you will.
Can imagine without the velvet it would be quite uncomfortable to wear
Outstanding workmanship! I would love to be locked in that room overnight just looking.
We concur! The sparlle was off the charts. Thanks so much for watching.
I'm surprised you can film in there.
It was a special exhibition that is no longer on. There was security in the room with all the tiaras and they were all behind glass cabinets
Such an extraordinary exhibition !!
Are the tiaras holograms or are they real but hoovering like on the moon ?
Really stunning 💎👑💎
My favourite would be two things:
1) the platinum halo at the end - would be stunning in Camilla's hair.....
2) Rachel's earrings 😍
Thank you for sharing this.
The tiaras were real! Absolutely stunning in person, to see the details up close was amazing, we’ve never seen so many diamonds in one place! And thank you- the earrings are Nicola Bathie 🤍
@@keepingupwiththewindsors .....even filmed I got an impression how beautiful the diamonds and tiaras are ! Thank you for your always great videos and posts.
You are welcome. Thank you so much for watching our videos and commenting. Michelle
I wonder why in the pictures of Diana in her wedding tiara, that it looks like it’s flashing pink? Is there any light pink stones in it?
No they were clear diamonds. It was probably the lighting and the reflection from the other tiaras on display
If thats diana tiara why is it not with her family unless thwy loaned it to them because its a spencer family tiara or did they swll it what do you mean private collector?
Thanks for your question. The tiara is the Spencer Family Tiara and very much still belongs to the family. It was kindly loaned to Sotheby's for the exhibition. It was lovely to see in person as it's so iconic.
