I LOVE watching this show! Even though she is American, she has a respect for the traditions and history for her Husband and his family. I feel she really wants to learn. Wonderful too, that she tries to incorporate her own American customs, but not in a "mine is better than yours" attitude. It is just such a joy to watch. And that Tiara! I bet she was taking that necklace off now that she knows....also looks like the two end pieces could be brooches.
Very true & I also give her in-laws some credit too. There are plenty of aristocratic British families that would be less than amused by the wife of the future Earl doing Bravo reality shows and yoga on RUclips etc. Julie is very lucky to have found a lovely family that embraces her for who she is and doesn’t try to make her into something else...and they’re lucky to have found her too because she seems like lots of fun.

Every summer we would head to Beaulieu for a half day trip to the motor museum and a picnic in the grounds. It's very familiar country because it's close to where I grew up in Bournemouth. Been living in Australia now for 35 years. The one thing I miss is the south coast, especially Dorset, with its pretty villages, its understated homely great houses and its Jurassic coastline.
The tiara is amazing and it's awesome to find out how much history there's behind it. I love the fact they make such a piece of jewelry totally convertible.

Julie looked gorgeous on her wedding day, and what a beautiful way to be welcomed into the Montagu family! The tiara is truly stunning, and the possibility that Alberta might have worn it as well, makes theirs, an even more meaningful connection. This channel is amazing, the way Julie tells the story of her husband's estate and of their family and home is so engaging and very interesting!
Wow two American ladies wore the Tiara how interesting, I like Julie shes down to earth not arrogant or stuffy her husband is a nice man too . His parents are so grounded and full of valuable history its a joy to watch. The children will grow up courteous and kind too I bet love from Oz x
Julie is such a lovely person . I admire her for taking such care of her husbands family history. She is making history of her own. That is so lovely for their children. Beautiful family all of them. Best wishes to you Julie from Kentucky!!
Julie just seems so lovely and down to earth. Now being part of British nobility, she could easily be arrogant and pompous, but she couldn’t be less humble. It’s not about changing herself, it’s about embracing and recognizing that their children also have a British side that she herself wants to learn more about. How delightful.
Well it isnt all about everyone else and fitting in and serving everyone else. Being "humble" or I would use the words loving and open and interested shouldn't preclude a foundation of love and respect for self and what you offer as just as valid an individual as everyone else.
The tiara is absolutely stunning. For me it was made even more beautiful when you learned the history behind it. It made such total sense when she explained it. I would have loved to seen The tiara taken off its frame so you could have seen the necklace by itself. The jewelry of that time. Is just amazing and the way they constructed things was so unbelievably detailed. I love how you are so interested in your husband's family. If I lived there I would be so interested in the history of that family and that place. I have always loved portraiture of the early part of this century and before. I have also always wondered about the people in the portraits. What kind of lives did they leave and what did they see during that lifetime.
What a stunning tiara!! I too was adorned with a tiara of roses for my English wedding in 1999...however, the ones in mine are made from a type of plasticine...and, alas, there's not a single diamond in it!!! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing life with us...💗💗💗

My grandmother also had a drawer with small gifts for the grandchildren. She was bedridden in later years and we would always visit her and sit on the bed and chat, waiting for her instruction to open the drawer beside her bed and choose a gift! It was so exciting as a child.

You and your husband make such a lovely couple and compliment each other do well. I love how you can “argue” without arguing; you can express yourselves and give “your side” without tempers flaring. It is fun to watch you!
Truly love that you didn't go totally anglophile. You love, display, & celebrate your Americanness. You seem like an absolutely lovely, inspiring woman; not because you married an aristocrat & heir, but because you renovate property, self educate, stay beautifully young through heathy choices, celebrate grace, manners, and don't exploit your kids for media money. Bravo!
It is fitting that Julie wore this crown.Such a lovely and caring person!Love the rose, symbol of Julie's" joie de vivre"!May you always be so loving to all!
I have a real diamond tiara that I wear when I perform on concerts, and for special occasions. I bought it from England. It is from the Georgian period, and is very similar to the one in this video, but a bit smaller. I just love it. I also have an early 1900's paste tiara as well.
High end jewelry stores sometimes have them. Occasionally you can by them online at auction. I was fortunate and found mine on ebay from a jewelry store in England that carries them.
Everything about this is soo Beautiful. I hope my next lifetime I am blessed with such a privilege of being on a high scale of importance…. ~ and just feeling and being special. I am soo happy you have this experience and lifestyle ~ and such a Beautiful tiara…Many Blessings to you and your family ~
Catching up on this video after watching the pool video and I ended up amazed yet so entertained. Imagine how amazing to live like you, having a high tolerance in cross-culture and intend to keep learning even though you have lived there for 20 years. Thank you for this and stay healthy for your family (:
Stunning Tiera. To think you are holding so much history and wore it all on your wedding DAy! Lovely! Many blessings to you. So much to learn from your life and to think you are willing to share so much with all. This is so nice. I live in America and yet have so much love and respect for the Royal family, My husband is descended from King Henry the 2nd and 3rd and down to his mom. ( long story and could never explain it he would need to show it and he did not know until he retired and had time to do Ancestry of his family and we found out that way) This made it even more exciting to me naturally. WE have been married 54 years now. We have two sons and they are married but I do see the resemblance in them in personality to some degree to the sons of Prince Charles and Princess Diana and now Step Mom Duchess Carmella, of course. I love Chateaus and Villas and just cannot get enough of it as think we in America missed out on remaining able to stay linked in that special way when we had our families come to America, but for good reasons at that time. I am very excited and I know you have been married awhile now, and have children and it is quite natural now perhaps, but hope this love and thrill stays with you forever and can see it will!! Most of us will not even get to come to England and never stay at your home in the Bed and Breakfast, but to think we can see it and enjoy all of the things you are doing and take part in a small way, just doing what we can and that is nice too. You have been blessed. ( But I know it is not totally easy either, nothing is in life)
I've been watching your show on Smithsonian channel and absolutely love Mapperton and other castles. My entire family thinks you are a sweetheart and your family is adorable. Once this covid nonsense is over, we plan on a trip to Mapperton and a few places like Doddington and Holmsby. Keep up the good work. Vilma from Winnipeg, Canada.
Wonderful video. Lovely to see descendants of my ancestors (13th GGF - Sir Edward Montagu ~ 1485 to 1557) and learn about this part of the family in modern times. My line of descent is Montagu / North / Moss / Spears / Carmichael. We immigrated to the Colonies in the mid 1600's. I hope one day to get back across the pond and visit some of my ancestral seats.
Wow, that's a stunner, so belle epoque. This takes me back to the tiara exhibit at the V and A, twentyish years ago. On the opening night we all wore gowns and tiaras to it. At the time I had a stall at London's Greenwich Market selling hair accessories and I made custom tiara's. Geoffrey Munn has published a beautiful book on tiara's. Every girl needs at least one 😁
Fascinating, I wish you still had a stall there so I could visit! Thank you for sharing - please consider subscribing to my channel for more of my life as an American navigating the British aristocracy!

Beautiful wedding photos, you look gorgeous. The tiara is stunning, this video was so interesting
You know I watch too much Antique Roadshow when I recognized Joanna. Lol
Every family needs a tiara. Ah I use to work in Albemarle Street, Mayfair. Should have picked one up when I worked there.
You and your husband make such a lovely couple and compliment each other do well. I love how you can “argue” without arguing; you can express yourselves and give “your side” without tempers flaring. It is fun to watch you!
Thank you so much!
Vicontess you do the USA proud. Thank you.
I’ve seen allot of tiaras but this one is the most appealing to me it’s so grand but demure at the same time, it was perfect for your wedding.
Love hearing about the history of the tiara and seeing it up close.
What company do you recommend purchasing a tiara from?
@@Kira-ey5yt Bentley & Skinner
High end jewelry stores sometimes have them. Occasionally you can by them online at auction. I was fortunate and found mine on ebay from a jewelry store in England that carries them.
Ah! LOVELY 😍 !!!
BEAUTIFUL!
THANKS
FROM UK 🇬🇧.
Ur father in law seems so sweet ❤️❤️

Catching up on this video after watching the pool video and I ended up amazed yet so entertained. Imagine how amazing to live like you, having a high tolerance in cross-culture and intend to keep learning even though you have lived there for 20 years.
Thank you for this and stay healthy for your family (:
Louisiana Anglophile here. Loving all of the history you share with us all.

Hello how are you doing 😊😊
Thank you so much! And please tell your family thank you too!
Omg! My grandma was like that too! Sh always had something special for us kids when we visited. And she was grandma to all the kids in the community!
That's amazing! We look forward to welcoming you if you ever get the chance to visit Mapperton.
Probably the most gorgeous tiara I have ever seen
Thank you for sharing these beautiful stories!
Truly makes my heart smile❤
You wear that tiara well… it’s doesn’t wear you. You are stunning!✨
@@AmericanViscountess it's great to see a fellow colonial taking over 😆. I've been here for most of my adult life now, but still have a strong LA accent. You're doing a great job ✊🌟
What a beautiful tiara. It looked lovely on you on your wedding day. Breathtaking!

@@ernarc23 Where are you from if i may ask?
Julie.. You are lovely and authentic and such a character.. Bless you darling
She could teach a certain unmentionable female how to behave correctly and assimilate whilst being natural.
Wow what a beautiful story and you really are bringing the ladies back to life by wearing it and showing it to us also. So incredible to realise a necklace in there and other pieces too. Wonderful
Thank you so much!
Just gorgeous……….and the hair and dress played well with…….good job
You are such a breath of fresh air. So interesting snippets. Appreciate you don’t have long intros
Your tiara is beautiful & mesmerising! Ooh all those diamonds 💎 studded bling bling 😄👏🏻👍🏻 u looked like a princess with it in your lovely elegant wedding dress 👍🏻😃
Hearing of the traditions in the relationship betw. Grandparent and grandchild brings a warmth to understanding this family’s life. Having a present in a closet just sounds charming. Knowing grandma thought of the children and connecting. So sweet.
Such a gorgeous bride you are! You really haven’t changed 🤩
Super duper, Julie. I see from the number of views, there is a lot of tiara love out there. Very interesting. You were a gorgeous bride 👰
