@@filval387 Yeah, it was a functional object that people kept trying to reach despite being in the skybox of the map, aka kept getting further as they moved towards it. So they made it functional early (They always were gonna make it functional, cuz it was a vital spot for the game.)

I kinda wish the water did look more like slime in the new version, it would give it a more alien aspect to it Even if just slightly more slimey it would be cool
I agree. Or at least add a filter that makes the water more thick looking. In taht case, why not add multiple water filters? You want pitch black water on the surface at all times? COMING UP!
@@goldh2o543 I mean like it not being normal water, I mean if you think about it the odds of earth-like seawater being on an alien world are next to none! Its a separate environment on a separate planet, with creatures and microorganisms taking a completely different evolution than earth creatures. Meaning their influence on water quality and such could be much less convenient for your survival, excluding the aep suit you got on which as stated in the pda would protect you for the most part but still like the water could be somewhat acidic or more viscous, maybe even thinner than ocean water. Its an alien planet for crying out loud ya know?
I miss the old building noise. That being said, this build is terrifying... I HATE looking at empty seafloors, when you removed the giant part of the ground that legitimately started making me feel anxious.
I remember how i played subnautica in like 2014 or 2013 idk, i was 7 or 8 yrs old, builds in old subnautica was terrible, the rooms were just gray rectangles and i didnt know how to get in it, observatory was a rectangle too but translucent blue and was built on the constructor, and Aurora either didn't exist at that time, or I just didn't remember it. my brother installed the game for me, because I just didn't know how to do it and I was very jealous of the RUclipsrs who updated the game and who already had normal buildings but I had gray squares, I didn't even know how to update the game, so I played on the old build. wonderful times
Someone who knows how horror works. That takes so much life out an already spooky planet. It makes you feel way more alone... I wish there was a biome like that still.

Every little thing you did in this time period could lead to you fucking flying off into the sunset, plummeting through the earth, or just being doomed to scuttle around the sea floor, like a crab. Good times. Wish I didn't have them, spoiled everything about the game for me.

i always get chills revisiting old versions of this game. they have the most eerie feeling ever, and i absolutely love it.
Jeez imagine if they decided to have no music in the scary places...
They did that for the ecologically dead zone at least, and it worked. Scariest place in the game, and for good reason.

I think that horn noise might have been put there for the abandoned degasi habitats. They reused it from the precursor gun.
