what is the temperature acetone need to be heated? according to a previous comment you have mentioned to 80C. bout acetone boiling point is 56C. is it okay to heat around 45C?
Hi what is the specific edible oil in the video and does that factor 0.0313 apply to all kinds of oil as in can I use it for sunflower soyabean or any other oil
This was very easy to follow, but can this procedure be used for ethanol as well? Cause I'm having a really hard time finding phosphorus content determination procedures for ethanol. It'd be a great help if you could answer ❤
The reference that you have cited at the beginning of the video does not indicate where the calculation factor of 0.0313 is taken from. Is there by any chance that you could tell me how this value was derived, or give me a link to a material that can maybe make the reason clearer why this is the value for the calculation factor? Thank you very much!
was the formula that you used for phosphorus content based from the formula for percent chloridate titrated? it is the only formula from the reference book that i have found to be somewhat related, it is in page 205.
Thank you for sharing Few noticable things I would love to be clear about. 1. The temperature at which acetone and the sample is to be heated is not indicated 2. The buffer solution is also not indicated weather it is of 10pH or so . 3. And if possible I would love to understand where the 0.0313 x10⁶ is coming from and which type of oil is applicable to Thank you I will really appreciate
[Factor 0.0313] ... This is atomic weight of phosphorus (31) devided by 1000 [The factor 25] ... This is convertion factor from phosphorus to phospholipid content
It would be beneficial to share the Calcium Test of Limestone Grid and Calcium and Phosphorus Test of DCP, MCP Raw Materials. I am working as a laboratory chemist in a feed mill in Bangladesh.

This is a helpful procedure. Thank you! I'd like to as, can I use other buffer solutions instead of ammonia buffer?
Thank-you sir ,can you please explain, determinatiom of wax in sun flower oil by gravimetric method ?
Noted. Will make video later

Here we find the percentage of free phosphorus or what is present in the phosphatidyl compounds?
Can EDTA be used instead of disodium EDTA?
Plz explain the trans fatty acids
Please what reaction occurs in this test?
Thank you for your great videos 🙏
could you upload a video about determination of metal ions in crude edible oil ?
Okay
what is the temperature acetone need to be heated? according to a previous comment you have mentioned to 80C. bout acetone boiling point is 56C. is it okay to heat around 45C?
No matter of 80 degree or 56 degree. Just apply heat and stop when start boiling and remove the flask from heating mantle
Thanks for video and keep it

This is process called Degumming of Vegetable Oils.
Hi what is the specific edible oil in the video and does that factor 0.0313 apply to all kinds of oil as in can I use it for sunflower soyabean or any other oil
It was crude soybean oil. Factor is the same for all kind of oils
@MicroChem's Experiments is this procedure is applicable in the determination of phosphorous content in RBD oil (Refined Bleach Deodorized Oil)?
Yes. Applicable
ThanQ so much for the procedure, phosphorous content method results are same as Spectroscopy method? ,i wnated to test for crude palm oil.
Yes, same. You can test in your lab and compare both results
This was very easy to follow, but can this procedure be used for ethanol as well? Cause I'm having a really hard time finding phosphorus content determination procedures for ethanol. It'd be a great help if you could answer ❤
No. This method is not applicable for ethanol.
@@MicroChemsExperiments Okay, thank you!
please guide me method of gum determination through phosphoric acid
Follow the method as described in this video
Does this method work if phosphorus content in oil is below 10ppm level?
Yes but in that case you have to use 0.001M EDTA solution during titration
Is the result matches with spectrophotometer method result?
i think no
@@chemistbd886 how do you determine it with spectrophotometer?
What method is used for? AOCS or some other, please?

1. There is no specific temperature. Just boil the content at maybe 80 degree Celsius.
2. Buffer 10.
3. Same for all oils
Ammonia solution and Ammonia buffer solution are the same?
Yes. Same
if I use Ammonia solution, what is the concentration allowed to use?
What is the initial volume reading, is it refer to blank?
It's the initial burette reading which we got before starting the titration.
