To me, this is an allegory of vanity. We always try and rise ourselves above others, and when we believe we have finally reached the top, it is only to find out in the end that this was the shortest way to alienate ourselves, lose our identity, and become just another shadow lost among the masses...
Mostly agreed, but I;m not sure vanity is quite right. Coming at it from an artist's perspective, we learn by 'climbing onto the shoulders of those who came before'. And that's a lot of shoulders! Each before us did it the same way, so it forms a chain (or stairway). When we reach the top and create a new level, it then serves as just the final step for the next genration (who's life work becomes merely one more step). And so on, and so on...
Great stuff! However I keep expecting him to burst into song singing "I'm going up the stairs and going down the stairs and going down the sideway stairs".

YES i was looking for this for so long. Used to have a video of this set to one of my fav psytrance tracks but it disappeared years ago
Really nice job making this character move like a real person, which is entirely the reason it's so engaging to the very end. Animation at its best.

Zakończenie przypomina mi trochę "Katedrę" Bagińskiego z 2002. Obaj bohaterowie stają się koniec końców częścią konstrukcji....
Rzeczywiście, najprawdopodobniej zainspirował się. W Katedrze widać jednak intencję w zgodzie z losem (przeznaczeniem?).
