Back in 2012, I rode 4200 miles across the U.S. on a ratty 1997 Honda Rebel 250. And I'm 6' 240. The engine came out of a wrecked 2008 Rebel, the engine was still good and only had around 3,000 miles on it. I also used the chain, sprockets, and a few other parts from the '08. I put brand new tires on it and a new battery, welded up a 3 foot tall sissy bar to strap my stuff to, also used a tank bag and saddlebags. I fabricated a highway bar for it. The pegs are just way too far back for me to ride any distance with. Probably close to a third of the distance was on interstate highways. A Rebel 250 will hold 75-80 mph at full throttle on flat roads. The worst thing I had go wrong were two flat tires. That would have been no big deal except the Rebel has tube type tires. I had a small homemade jack, a pump, and a spare tube. I bought another spare tube after the first flat, and still another one after the second flat. I changed the oil three times and had to carry a bottle of oil because the Rebel burns oil at full throttle. I had a beadrider seat cover which, along with the extended front pegs made it reasonably comfortable. I did spend 4 nights in cheap motels, and ate fast food. I was 53 years old at the time.
I 62 kids grown wife gone? I'm not gonna look for her!😊 just bought a 1981kawasaki 440ltd runs great. 9000 miles😮 gonna hit the east coast like i did in the eighties, you guys inspired me to do the right thing. Thanks
I've been riding for 49 years (I'm 62). I've had 39 bikes and in that time raced for 9 years in the IHRA/AMA/ProStar and have crossed the US many times on many different types of bikes. All the things I've done on bikes are shit compared to these guys. I love them! They're INCREDIBLE and possess the TRUE spirit of motorcycling! I'm in AWE! Yes, there IS hope for Millenials and Gen Zers!
I don't know if you hear this a lot but i will give my 2 cents on your channel. I watch a lot of motorcycle content from all over the world because the stuff from germany on youtube is boring. I pretty much got stuck on Ari Henning and Zach courts no matter where they where because i love them and most importantly on Fort Nine. And your channel is all of that and maybe more. I'm just gonna say it... I found you a few days ago and i was addicted and this video proves it. You are my new favourite bike channel. Pleas keep making these masterpieces 👌
When I first read you were going to give me your 2 cents I was worried.. haha but actually I think you have given me the best compliment I have ever received. I really appreciate that. Especially about Fort9, for me they are probably the top of their specific moto RUclips genre. I am glad you are enjoying what you are seeing...even if they aren't as often as those other channels you mentioned. So thank you again for the kind words they mean a lot.
I'm in the same boat, I discovered this channel today just bored, trying to find videos of kz440s, I used to own one. This channel is an absolute hidden gem. Keep making quality vids and the following will come brother.
I have lived and seen some motorcycle adventure. But this is another level. I hope u boys have a long life do that u can tell this story over and over. Was going to try for NL from 'Berta myself next yr. But my wife and figure it might b a little far for 2 senior citizens on a 20 yr old bike. Have fun now cause old age comes far to fast
I also have a Savage which was my first motorcycle and I keep it in storage to this day, I'm sad that I don't have anyone to go on adventures like that.✌️🍻👍
I rode my 305 Honda from Michigan to Florida once. Great adventure. Engine blew up on the way back. I ran out of fuel at 80 mph and one carb leaned out and burned a piston. My buddy towed me to the next exit and left me because he had to get back to work. I took my cylinders off with the topls in my tool kit. Next morning I walked to a shop and got the cylinders bored. Put the bike together and went on with my trip.
DAMN! I can't believe you guys stayed at the East Wallace motorcycle campground. That place was awesome but the biting flies that drew blood on everyone in our group SUCKED!
Mark at East Wallace helped us so much! Lent is a car for the day so we could drive to New Brunswick and get a new cam chain. Seriously best guy ever. I don’t remember the flies though… I might have blocked those from my memory haha
Really enjoyed this it was also a bonus to see the footage from the Royal Boreal this summer also understand what you went through switching bikes I had a XR650 sold it a now have a ktm 690 enduro that I really enjoy but I do regret selling XR650 but that’s life lol Keep up the good work

Thanks so much! Couldn’t have said it better myself. I hope to come to Thailand one day, you guys have an awesome motorcycle scene from what I see online.
@@rangeroadmoto yeah man that would be cool and lmk I would love to meet ya. It's morning here now and can't wait to enjoy more of your content tonight. For now see ya in the comment section lol.
lol, You can piss on it to cool it down ! Well, I had this Goldwing and on a trip and the lower radiator hose started to leak (loose clamp). Didn't notice till the bike got hot. It took 3 hours for 3 guys to piss enough to refill the radiator to get Me to a town and parts store for coolant. EDIT: Really good video. Proud of You guys.
I wanted to ask When you took this EPIC easy-rider style MotoTrip, but I can see the Alberta Plate says 2018. This means it was no later then 2016 and more likely in 2017 or 2018. I also want to commend you on the simple but Powerful Title. With 4 little words you captured the Spirt of this X-Canada Ride.! The Title hints that your route is random and you're borderline lost but you dont care, just point me in the direction of East and we'll figure out as we go along. I'm so glad that I discovered your Channel, I'm going enjoy watching your channel grow.!
Is there going to be a Part 2.? Plz say Yes. So, the LS 650 Savage (I've had a 2014 s40 so I know that Suzuki Cruiser) It rode back all the way to Edmonton being followed by the $600 mini-van, which no one could sleep in.? How many days was this super-far trip, was there any money from the $1200 in your pocket afterwards.?
@@AngelFaceMotoRider so the video I just uploaded is actually all the parts combined into 1 movie. Just thought it would be easier to watch that way.. and no definitely did not come home with any money left. haha
