On of the best features yet. Love Daniel Avery, his sets at Fabric have taken me to places I have never been before. Long seamless mixes that melt together as textures. Lovely to hear his mindset on creativity and making records. So glad there are artists like this around. Thanks Dan.
While it's hard to be an artist in London, it's easier there than anywhere else in the UK. It's practically impossible to get any recognition outside of big cities.
Since when did great music have to involve snares? Bit like saying "this guy is allergic to cowbell and still makes great music", it's one of a million musical tools lol
As some of you are keen to know the track listing for the feature, here it is: Daniel Avery - Simulrec [Phantasy] Daniel Avery - Sensation [Phantasy] Rote - End Of The Sky [BleeD]
so deep and thoughtful artist: music AFTER post-modernity. ESCAPE from the modern/post modern using their own devices..!! sounds like he is on the pulse...what a great shift for all of us in the North (not South). hope we escape (revolt), sail (move towards) and reach (agree together) a place inside us that 400 yrs of industrialization has taken away from us...
Physically and mentally this guy reminds me of Rudigler Vogler in alice in the cities. In his very arty way of thinking the big city and the way it encloses personalities.
Its gratifying to hear thoughts from an extraordinary artist especially when theyre in sync with your own! Cannot wait to see you in Los Angeles, Nov 18.
Thanks so much EBTV!! Brilliant interview and such an inspiring insight. Would love to see more videos on the current UK electronic heavyweights such as Daniel himself.
Telekom Electronic Beats hmm.... Lone, Floating Points and Four Tet are the names that spring to mind. But equally the likes of Mount Kimbie, James Blake, Gold Panda, Andy Stott, are also excellent.

I used to think that the best techno came out from 1998 to 2003. I was so very wrong.
